It was all packaged with utensils and napkins, plus the legendary WaBa sauce! I love that sauce. I ordered a salon plate with white rice and vegetables. I requested just broccoli and carrots, no cabbage. But I still got cabbage- gross lol I also ordered a side of avocado. The avocado was fresh and came in a side container. It's been a minute I've came here. This was my original Waba Grill I had 1st ever. In this location and has been hooked since! Love Waba Grill. Came here to grab a Rib Eye bowl for my oldest son. Ordering was really easy and fast. Associate was really nice and I received my bowl pretty fast. Rib eye steak is pretty tender & good. Located in the same plaza as Rite Aid. Starbucks & right next to Sushi Pop. Lots of seatings available. Including table booths. It's like any basic Waba Grill fast food restaurant. Parking is pretty easy to find. We love waba grill so much! One of the only chains we crave whenever we get into range of one. They do it right with healthy portions, great meats, rice always fluffy, great green onions, and the combo of teriyaki sauce and their spicy sauce is solid. What's incredible is that while costs are rising for all places, other places seem to also skimp on food, but Waba doesn't seem to skimp and that's pretty huge. The service is also consistently good wherever we go. Never over the top, just simply helpful and genuine. We got our order to go since we were meeting up with friends at a nearby park but the location was nice and clean! read more

The staff was extremely rude demanding I take my dog out of the store and making remarks about me and the "guy" with me being dirty. I walked over to eat from my house as I was not able to drive, I held the door opened for another person who had a dog that the gentleman sat in a corner so he could order food. The staff automatically assumed we were together. I wasn't dressed like I was going to the Grammys after all I was only a couple of days post surgery. When I ordered the girl gave such attitude for ordering a mini bowl but I paid for my food. The gentleman that I held the door for ended up ordering his food then paid with cash. The lesson here is not to judge anyone by appearance because you never know what they're going through or assume that because they look a certain way that's the reality. I called the waba grill corporate but they did nothing, no email or anything like they said they would. If you want to eat in the shopping center, the Hawaiian food place is amazing and so is sushi pop and the staff at both places are amazing. I will not eat at Waba grill again with this incident and another incident where the salad dressings were expired. The sad part is that the manager was the one treating us like crap. I took my food at ate at the Starbucks after the way I was treated. The food wasn't even good either. Thank you for the response business owner. I reached out to the phone number where they took my email information and said someone would get back to me within two business days. When I walked in with my 17 year old sister the cooks immediately just started STARING. It was very uncomfortable they just kept smirking staring right at her she even told me she felt uncomfortable. Extremely rude cashier woman over the phone would not bring me the curbside order that I purchased through the app. She claimed they no longer did it and gave me attitude about it. I ordered curbside from them a few weeks prior and they brought my order out with no issue. If it's no longer offered then make sure that the app shows it is not an option. In the mean time, you guys should honor what your guests paid for and not give attitude about it. Or at least be like I'm sorry we don't offer that anymore but I can do it for you this time since the app has not been updated. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was very clean. Seating was blocked off; would assume so, due to Covid. The wait for my order was pleasant, as it didn't take long for the food to come out. I love the fact that they have an open kitchen so we can see how the food actually gets prepared - not pulling meat out of bags and microwaving. The food looked and tasted super fresh. I ordered the WaBa bowl (steak & chicken) with veggies and added avocado. Look at the size of these portions. I don't know how she closed the lid. I'm so full I can barely type this review. The owner seems to support local community activities, as I saw numerous plaques of gratitude from little league baseball teams. There was a photo and autograph from Tommy Lasorda framed too. My friend and I have this routine where we eat a teriyaki bowl for lunch on Monday. We've been doing this for years and years and years. Because of this we notice when a place takes a turn for the worse. First we were hooked on Flame Broiler but after awhile the locations near our work started serving gristly beef and chicken full of cartilage and gristle. Blech! So we moved on to Yogi's which was frickin' fantastic until a few months ago where they served us moldy food along with frozen wilted onions and raw sewage gasses. Even further back in time we used to frequent Happy Teriyaki and Super Teriyaki which also went the way of the crapper. Waba Grill is our new Teriyaki place along with Golden Bowl sprinkled in every once in awhile. They call their beef bowls "steak" bowls which I thought was gimmicky at first but there is definitely a high quality rich beefy taste to their meat which I think sets them apart from other teriyaki places. On my two visits the first one had some gristle but the second time had zero. Same with the chicken, had a bit of gristle but it was pretty good overall. Chicken was cooked perfectly without being dried out. The steamed veggies are your typical cabbage, carrots and broccoli. They also have pickled carrots and jalapenos to toss onto the bowl. The teriyaki sauce here tastes great and I love their hot sauce. Kimchi here is a rip off. For $1.80 you get this teeny tiny itty bitty single serving jar of it. It's definitely fermented in the jar though because when I opened the jar it made such a loud pop noise my friend and I both flew out of our seats. It tasted alright but not worth the price. So far so good. I enjoy this teriyaki place and will return! Hopefully they stay true to quality and do not start cutting corners like the competition does. My Yogi's Dukedom is up for grabs since I'll never step foot in there again. read more

Many mentioned and compared Waba Grill to Flame Broiler. It definitely is a strong competitor. It has many similar menu items, so I'll list the differences. 1. Option for avocados on your bowl or plate (an extra $1.50) 2. Salmon bowls are available. 3. They have their own private label for sriracha sauce! And of course Cajun hot sauce (vinegar based). Flame Broiler needs to step up and provide sriracha. Their sriracha, it's not the bottle with the green cap and rooster logo as we're all accustomed to seeing. Waba's sriracha has a bit more tang and acidity, yet still can pack a spicy punch to the mouth. 4. Their bowls are much wider so it's more convenient to navigate and dictate which half of the bowl you're going to eat first instead of the usual going for the the top of the bowl. At Flame Broiler, the bowl sizes are narrow and I have to start with the top and work my way down and in the process, green onions and chicken usually falls on the side of the bowl. Pricing Plates: 1. Chicken/Steak $7.49 2. Chicken $6.99 3. Steak 7.39 4. Salmon $8.49 Plates comes with a side of salad and orange slices. I usually substitute the orange slices for an extra side of salad for 0.30 cents. Not too bad. Salad is the usual greens with their Waba's house dressing. Dressing is sweet and sour. Think Italian but sweeter. Bowls: 1. Chicken $4.99 2. Steak $5.59 3. Chicken/Steak $5.79 4. Salmon $6.39 Service is friendly and if you need bigger containers for the sauces, you can request them at the front counter. I've been to a good amount of Waba locations and have to say this one is my fave! Customer service is good, food is cooked to order and most of all the avocado is always perfectly layered on top! Prices are fair! I miss the 2 for $10 chicken bowl special they had going awhile back! They have pink lemonade! Woot! I take my chicken veggie bowl with no cabbage and never a hassle to order. We order from here quite often. Last few times were so-so and missing avocado etc cause the store runs out. It's lunch time, everyone is hungry and we learn Waba Grill now delivers! Tried out delivery service via wabagrill.com and driver never delivered the order... online website says to contact store directly so we did. Manager Victor says not their problem as the doordash driver picked up the order and to contact doordash. Doordash says not their responsibility and to contact the store... Someone needs to get the story straight. Eventually the manager says that he will remake the order but not happily. Overall, delivery not worth all the trouble. If you need assistance with customer service issues you are on your own- be advised! Probably easier to just dispute the charge with your bank, learn you lesson/do not order from the location again, and move on. read more

In the genre of fast commercialized authentic teriyaki Waba Grill will takes its place next to the Flame Broilers & the Mom & Pops. Like a Green onion this place is clean and presentable. Thier food has a smooth savory consistency with a sodium elevation at times. Today I had their beef bowl. The white rice was like any standard teriyaki place. The beef was good and the sauce on top of it was a mix of sweet and tangy. The food tasted lean and not greasy but I could sense the sodium in it. If you like green onions try thier bowls and go with the green onion option, they give you more onions than flame broiler. Thier bowls are about six bucks and plates around seven but the meals are satisfying. Ease of access, right by the 91 and 5 on Euclid & Orangethorpe and near in vicinity of the Mid-West Fullerton shopping areas. Parking is a breeze and the service is acceptable. The inside has plenty of seating with a nice decor for small teriyaki house and a big screen with the laker game on for the youth. A tip for cheapskates: if you order thier bowls you can keep the bowl, wash it and reuse it, it is sturdy, bowl shaped and made of plastic. I think I may just keep this strong thick black plastic fork too. Waba Grill, come for the taste, come back for more plates and forks. read more

I personally prefer this place over the Flame Broiler down the street on Commonwealth just because they seem to give a little more meat then that location and the bowls here are much easier to work around. Not sure why people really complain about the limited menu, I mean it's just very straight forward healthy and filling, food what else do you really want? Besides the usual steak/chicken, shrimp, salmon, and ribs are available. Always greeted with a friendly "Hello, how are you doing today?" whenever I arrive and a "Bye! I feel like I'm going to create a new language saying Waba it up. The quantity and quality of the chicken bowl was like really good. Good enough to get a 4 stars...WHY?!?! because for the cheap $5 and some cents it was pretty Waba good. If, however, the price was higher, this place may have gotten a 2 or 3 stars since it was not THAT Waba good. I came in around 12:45 for lunch and it was not very busy. I ordered the steak bowl with white rice and vegetables. It took less than a minute before I have my food which was great! My only complaint was the dining area. For being thrust they were not busy, the leadership should have ordered someone to tend to the dining area. Some of the seats and tables had left over food on them and the floors had food as well. If it is slow, that need to be the time you take advantage of to square away your restaurant. I like how they give tons of rice too, and overall, the portions of everything was perfect. I hate going to places like Yoshinoya, for example, where they give tons of meat but hardly any rice.. or vice versa. This place made their rice bowls just right.
