I came to the central Texas area in 1979 from Houston. I was dismayed to experience the total lack of customer service at every turn. It was apparent from the first phone call to get my utilities turned on that not one person I spoke with had any customer service skills. That same mental attitude pervades every aspect of this city. Waco is growing in spite of it simply because of its location on the I-35 corridor. After reading the Waco Tribune for a number of years it became apparent that the paper had a Liberal view point in every column. I soon became sickened by it and stopped reading it. Recently I was approached at a business location to take the paper again. I was not really enthused to take the paper because of the Liberal slant it had in the past. It had been more than 10 years since I stopped reading it so I thought, "Give it another try." I have to say that the paper is STILL just as Liberal as it was in the past. I would think that the number of people NOT reading it would wake someone up in the Editorial Department. They are just a mouthpiece for the local establishment. Its less of a paper and more of a fluff PR piece for the local government clique. Reporters are barely literate. read more

Do NOT subscribe to this paper! I have been trying to cancel this subscription since January and I finally get through to someone that sounds like a robot continuously asking how to keep me. I repeat 5 times I want to cancel. Finally I get a cancelation confirmation number. Save your time, its NOT WORTH IT! read more

Awful customer service. Don't sign up for automatic payment they make it very difficult to cancel.

Not pleased with this paper and the price for what you get is awful. They are hard to contact, not sure that we will continue with thm.

Digital subscriptions and customer services related to billing. I was offered 6 months digital for $1.09 and was well aware that the rate would go up if I didn't cancel several weeks before the renewal date. I put in writing my cancellation and received confirmation that no more charges would hit my account. Once the subscription ran out the very next day I start getting hit with multiple "come back offers" including the one I had previously for $1.09 for 6 months. After a few days I gave in and resubscribed based on the offer. My credit card was promptly charged the $1.09. Then when I'm looking at my credit card billing the next month I see charge for additional $16.23 I turned this in to my credit card and told them I suspected another charge would come through that month. Sure enough it did. When the credit card company reversed those two charges the Tribune canceled my subscription that should have been for the remainder of the 6 months which I paid the $1.09 for. I called in and all I got from the foreign sounding customer service agent was a run around. Tried to tell me no credit on account. WATCH these people. This is wrong. Incidentally I started to immediately get emails renew for 1.09 for 6 months multiple times a day!! read more

I will NEVER subscribe to this publication (paper or digital) again as it's been an absolute nightmare trying to cancel. First, they have outsourced their customer service and calls are answered by a center located outside the country. Second, you can SUBSCRIBE online without speaking to anyone, but you must call to UNSUBSCRIBE. Third, simply saying, "I want to cancel because I want to" is not sufficient for them apparently. The customer service reps repeatedly ask you why and offer deal after deal when you already gave a firm no. This amounts to harassment, point blank. Customers don't owe any explanation as to why they no longer want a service and if you ask once you should accept that answer and let the matter be closed! Fourth, I don't trust what someone in India is promising me over the phone regarding my request being processed. If I've said I would like written confirmation that my request to cancel has been received... SEND WRITTEN CONFIRMATION. This has been an unnecessarily difficult situation. This paper clearly no longer has any hometown ties and I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid doing business with them. read more

Biased paper... The bubble of Waco protects itself, and the center of this bubble is the Waco Tribune-Herald, who decides what makes "news" and what doesn't. In August 2010 they got rid of the free business model and moved into paid access only (unless you're already a subscriber). Today 2-23-2020, I believe I have bought my last Waco Tribune Herald Sunday paper. With today's technology, and so many ways to get current, up-to-the-minute news.....why would you charge $4 for a Sunday paper? Hard copy newspapers are a dying breed. This most recent increase doesn't help you stay relevant in my opinion. Besides the price, half the time the sale ads are missing or scarce. Sorry, no longer purchasing Sunday papers. read more

Have not received paper in 5 of the last 9 days. Weeks before it is periodically missed. Have tried on numerous occasions to try and contact thru calling or sending numerous emails. Cannot get to anyone. It seems like the paper is getting smaller and smaller. Have been a customer for decades. I guess it is sold and the changes that have been made are worst. read more

Wow. I know newspapers are struggling to stay in business, but the cost and policy is terrible. Rate is now almost $17 for weekends (Thurs-Sun). Then they charge extra for Thanksgiving and Christmas papers. And now, no credit for stopping your paper while out of town. Plus they often skip putting the typical Sunday coupon inserts in. We only take because the wife insists. read more
