Everything about Wade's Place is awesome. Food is off-the-chain delicious. Everything on the menu is top shelf. My favorite place to eat. The place is clean inside and out. Fantastic area for outdoors dining. The staff are friendly, helpful and on top of everything. My only concern is that the word gets out and I'll have to wait in longer lines than I do now. Friendly staff, a lot of young high school students. You order at a stand , pay and then they bring you the food. We had fried calamari (fresh and nicely batter) 5 stars and cup of gumbo 1 star. Not your traditional gumbo, had some white rice on top in which you have to mix it , super salty blob mixture , literally had two spoons and pushed it out the way . We got the fried fish platter. Can't go wrong with fish and shrimp but be sure to check out their Specials board. Crab legs, ribeye steaks, etouffe on top of catfish filets, boiled shrimp, a big ol' mess a crawfish. It is all fantastic. Pro Tips: Go early. There will be a line. If you go at peak time there will be a LONG line. Be patient. It is worth the wait. Park where you can. Wade's is a nice place to get good non-fast food in Chandler. After ordering at the counter, you seat yourself, so this is not a full serve dining place, but the food is always hot, fresh and cooked with tons of flavor. The steak is seasoned perfectly and is very tasty. It is usually served with a baked potato, but when they run out, they will substitute boiled new potatoes or French fries. The new potatoes were good but had zero seasoning or butter...just boiled. I think they could have at least served butter or something to make them interesting and match the delicious flavor of the steak. It was such a stark contrast and I was a little disappointed that no love was given to the side that was substituted for such a usually yummy baked potato. The entrees are delicious but the sides are sometimes disappointing and bland. We will definitely be repeat customers because the entrees are very good. Will have to see if we can find some sides that match the quality of the entrees next time. read more

The most awesome food, and fairly fast service. The shrimp and fried crawfish tails are my favorite. Order at the counter, then sit down till your very friendly waitress brings it to you. Free refills on drinks too! It gets pretty crowded on the days they're open, so try to get there early. read more

Wade's is a family owned business in Chandler and they are so lucky to have them in this little town just a few miles out of Tyler close to Lake Palestine. Food is always exceptional and locals love this place. Friday and Saturday nights are very crowded ! As crowded as they are, I have never not been able to get a table. People order, food is delivered in a reasonable time, and tables open up regularly. Staff is exceptionally friendly and willing to get any condiments you want. Love love love Wade's. I grew up on crawfish in the bayous of Southeast Texas and their crawfish can compete with the best. I haven't had a bad plate of food here, so if you're homesick for some decent bayou grub, this is definitely the spot up here! Ran by a local family, you feel welcome and warm as soon as you walk in the door. As a hot spot in town, you may have to wait in line, but they're conveniently attached to a boutique and across the street from a wine bar to keep you entertained. We spent the weekend in Chandler, tx and had to stop by Wade's place, we ordered some really good grilled shrimp tacos and a chicken po-boy. The fries were really good too with a nice batter on them. Chicken po-boy was loaded with chicken, caramelized onions etc. Owners were really nice and accommodating, we took the food to go and had some nice rosé at docs cellar. Cute town, great food. Love their food, but not today. I usually get their fish or étouffée and it's great! Well today I wanted something smaller so I ordered popcorn shrimp. I asked the lady that takes your order about size, like are they salad shrimp or just small shrimp? A guy walked up from the back and showed me size with a hand gesture. I told him I usually get etouffee and he said "you'll be disappointed with the popcorn shrimp, we get them off the truck." I didn't know that meant they're not hand breaded. So, like a dummy, I ordered them anyways. 1. They don't serve it in a basket. Why call it a basket and serve it on a plate? Basked makes it look like more and keeps food warmer. 2 these were horrible shrimp. Like I could literally go in Dollar Store a s buy frozen breaded shrimp and they would taste the same. I don't understand having something like this even on the menu if it's not a good dish! We order popcorn shrimp at The Catch regularly and they are excellent!
