It was good and worth the trip. This time my visit was rather interesting. My friends and I all had a salad from their lunch bar. It didn't offer as much variety as other lunch buffets around that area, but it was ok. Both of my friends ordered a waffle with deer mousse with pickled onions, Arugula, and salad. I opted for a baked potato with shrimp salad, green stuff, pickled onions, and tomato relish. Actually I liked my meal very much. The food presentation was beautiful on all three plates. I was happy because Belge had nice drink options including non-alcoholic wine. I had to order a small bottle of white vine, could not get only one tiny glass non-alcoholic. No problem, it was good wine but it did cost as much as my lunch. About the service. Both waffles were cold so the nice waitress did bring my friends warm waffles at their request. I had an issue with my salad plate from the buffet. The server apologized but did not offer to replace my salad. The next day I contacted the Restaurant Manager, not to complain, but to let her know what had happened. She was very professional and friendly and she understood my point of view. (Day before she had to leave early.) We had a great conversation about how the situation should have been handled. Maybe the waitress was new. Overall, I give the Manager and my meal five stars. Next time when visiting Helsinki I will go back.

Very much disappointed of their current COVID rules. I've been triple vaccinated in US and showed…read moremy official vaccination card with New York State issued QR code. I also proved a paper copy of my Finnish vaccination certificate given by Finnish authorities, that was not even good enough for this restaurant. They insisted to see Finnish / EU based QR code which is only available when you have an access to Finnish bank account, or Finnish issued electronic ID card reader. Those two I don't have. So, even you're from Finland, and able to provide a written paper copy of your vaccination records, given by Finnish authorities, this restaurant policy discriminates you and doesn't want your business. Based on my previoys experience, the weekday lunch is always generous and tasty, and decently priced. This was my first time having off-the-lunch hour menu item which was a thin steak (lehtipihvi). It was exactly as I imagined, complying easily with my expectations. One person in our party wished to have the "big steak" 300 g pork), but unfortunately our waitress had to inform they were out of it - regardless kitchen opening just a minute before we arrived. Quite a disappointment, but the other option, thin pizza, was quite decent.

At 11am, there was a little line by the door so I'm glad we had a reservation. Once seated, we were offered drinks but we all opted for the complimentary coffee, tea, juice, and smoothies that are included with the brunch. It costs €19,90 per person, which seems very reasonable considering the quality. I did see a table nearby that ordered a bottle of bubbly; now that is living! The cold table was very nice with several types of salad, including one that was half made up of fresh herbs, shrimp, tomatoes, cucumber, a few dressings, and toppings. Now the bread table had the classic Karelian pasty, several different types of bread, croissants, whipped cream, jam, butter, and a waffle iron! So you can make your own waffles!! This is a lot better than most "western" hotel breakfast buffets I have been to. The hot table was also good. The bacon was.. as buffet bacon usually is. Oily and not crisp. But the flavour was good. The giant meatballs and deep-fried cauliflower were easily the best, of course with mashed potatoes. And there were two nice sauces, although they were not labeled.. so I'm not sure what I ate, haha. There were also two kinds of sausages, which I didn't try. As we ate gluttonously, our server came by to take dirty plates without openly judging us. We appreciate that, lady! Definitely arrive hungry because there are so many nice offerings.

Although not a fan of blue cheese, I decided to take a chance on the Ham & Blue Cheese. Like all the restaurants here, there was a small tent set up nearby. Unfortunately, the small tables were set over cobblestones which made eating difficult. A nearby table chose coffee and accidentally spilled it when theirs hobbled. Once I placed my foot on the table, it reduced any movement especially when I was cutting the crepe. I enjoyed their take on a ham & cheese sandwich with the blue cheese. The crepe was definitely a lot of food for lunch as I barely finished half of it. I would not be surprised if a single crepe were shared among couples.

Lemon juice added a nice, acidic contrast to the sweetness of the crepe and strawberries. Crepe was light and fluffy, but could've used a bit more whipped cream . Cost 8 euros. Staff: Girls who took order were friendly. Had a reasonable wait (5-10 minutes) for 1 crepe considering all tables filled. 3 euro bottle of water was overpriced. Not all seats are covered, which can lead to issues. A bird pooped on me while I was eating! Bottom Line: Tasty crepe but a bit on the expensive side. Still the best food in this market area.
