I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes so eating out has been difficult the past few months. My husband suggested that we try a diner since I could get an omelet. We made our way to the nearest Waffle House as a result. I don't think I had been to one in over a decade, but walking in, it was all very familiar. I had to look up the nutritional facts document, which I was glad to locate easily online, and agonized over my choices, but settled on the cheesesteak omelet with Texas toast and hash browns. Hubs got a sandwich and hash browns. Our server was patient with us while I evaluated my choices and when we did order, the food was ready quickly. I enjoyed my dinner and didn't have a glucose spike! (I did only have half of the Texas toast and the hash browns on my plate...) We visited Waffle House on 3/30 and received the best service from Cameron. He took the time to make sure our table was clean before we sat down. He was a very friendly. The food was delicious! The eggs over medium were cooked perfectly! Kudos to the chef! Also, the music the played in the restaurant was top notch. What makes this Waffle House unique is that they host the infamous Waffle House valentine dinner event. If you didn't know about it before reading this, you're welcome. You need to make a reservation ahead of time to be a part of this unique experience. The entire place is decorated to be valentines theme and they even have a Photo Booth ready to take your picture. They change the menu very slightly to make it a bit more "fancy" by serving salads and grilled chicken and such, but the ingredients are the typical Waffle House ingredients. The staff are enthusiastic and a bit spunky on this day to serve you as well. It's a cute and fun experience if you're already a fan of Waffle House! The man Randy with the ponytail who served us was incredibly rude. I wouldn't even consider coming back. Even the other person we spoke to asked us for an example of his rudeness. Second time visiting this particular location, I did say I'd be back just didn't say when. Lol...once I walked in it took more than five minutes before someone came over to assist me. Meanwhile there was five employees that were standing, and talking amongst themselves before even saying anything to me. My steak wasn't seasoned at all, it was tougher than I expected. This place used to be one of my go to's cheap and fast okay service. Pretty sure they went through a management change or something but the service has really downgraded . Most of the servers don't seem to know what they're doing. Sad to see some of the usual workers go, Mike has always taken care of me and my family and has always been attentive. We come to this Waffle House for comfort food, so the staff knows us as "veterans" who don't need a menu. We visited today after my husband had an outpatient procedure and needed a big meal after fasting! Our waiter, Sam, was fantastic. Especially since it took us a little longer than normal. This Waffle House is rated 3.5 stars average, where as others are 2.0-2.5, in part because the people who work here are super friendly. As with most locations, the service is great until u need the check, which is usually hard to get from them. At 9:00 on a Fri, this location was not crowded. Many locations have a wait or are crowded even at this time. If u've not been here before, Waffle House ambiance is that of an old school truck stop/50's diner. There are red seated booths and a counter. Many of the waitresses will call u hon or some other friendly euphemism of times past. Most similar other experiences are maybe Denny's or Ihop. Seems like this location either has a reduced menu or all locations reduced their menu items since we last visited. We just got a hashed browns with ham added in, a plain classic waffle, and a decaf coffee. They brewed the decaf for us fresh cause not many ppl get it. All the items were very good. We didn't get the grits on this visit but have had them before. They are awesome. Definitely worth a try if u never had them. They r the cheese style grits. Some eat them with salt others with sugar. Which u use is controversial. Don't let ur server see which u put in ;) Bacon & sausage here were also awesome in the past, especially sausage patties. The lot is relatively small, but sufficient for the number of seats inside. There are only 2-3 tables that will seat 6+ ppl comfortably and maybe 2-3 tables for 2-4 ppl. Waffle House is great for breakfast and definitely recommend this location. Tips: (1) ask for ur check when they give u ur food. (2) One waiter gave us some strawberry jam to put on the waffle. It was better than syrup. Try to ask for that next time u go. (3) some ppl were getting take out. Don't get take out for breakfast items, only lunch here. (4) get grits, use salt or sugar. read more

Let me be clear, we got exemplary service tonight and good food. Only one server & one grill cook were on duty yet we got our food promptly. The one star deduction is only because it took a bit to get the coffee, and they had to remake one of the orders of hash browns. I'm also going to note that the burger on my patty melt bowl was overdone. Had it been on a cheeseburger, I might have sent it back, but chopped up in a bowl...well, it really didn't matter much. When the coffee came out, it was because it was made fresh. My iced tea was perfect & our server even asked if I wanted more ice for my refill (I really appreciate that a lot!). It was 2nd shift, so the dining room was mostly empty when we arrived, yet customers slowly streamed in. They kept everything moving & both employees had great personalities. We were very happy with out overall experience, and our appreciation for them being great guys goes a long way! Great job. I wish they had name tags on so I could give them a shout out. read more

We passed two others that our family didn't want to go to bc of service and unclean. We all had a great experience and Tre, the cook was very personable and a great cook. Well i decided that since i turn 50 this year it was time to experience the awesomeness that is the Waffle House!! We decided to try one in the upscale neighborhood at Hebron and 121! The Waffle House was clearly the place to be at 3pm I n a Sunday. Most of the booth were taken and clearly some regulars were up in the counter. The restaurant was definitely not cleaner than i expected and added to the charm. The staff greeted us and pointed us to our open booth. I clearly had to go with the great value meal. Eggs and bacon with Grits and toast and of course the waffle. The best part was the crispy basin i asked for. It came on it's own plate and dripping in its own tasty grease. Perfect!! The grits were solid!! The toast was everything white bread can be and brought back fond memories of the Wonder bread my Mom wouldn't let me eat!! The waffle was a little under cooked and not exactly golden brown as i would hope so the one thing the Waffle House should nail is the waffle so a 1 star hit! Not sure i will go out of my way to try another but glad i did and the next time I'm up at 3AM with the munchies i just may hit them up!! read more

Just a great place to get waffles if you're feeling nostalgic! I usually get the All Star Breakfast which gives you a little bit of everything you're craving. How have I made it in life this long and never been to a waffle house? Well now I have. I set my expectations where they should be and rendered this review on that yall. To start we had a pretty super server who just had the kindest smile and demeanor. He was attentive and quick with making sure we were served and had what we needed .... well done Mercy. The coffee was pretty darn good to start, I order my bacon crispy and youd be surprised how many places can mess this up but they nailed it! Very tasty bacon. And eggs... scrambled ... very good as well. The grits were a little sweet but again not to shabby... what surprised me was that the waffle was a fail. Coming in to the Waffle House I figured this was their Go To dish but nope... under cooked and not good bleh. The rest... spot on. And they nailed it with friendly service. To start with, normally my wife and I tend to avoid chain restaurants. To be truthful, I had seen the many good reviews here, but was still a bit reticent. We kept saying we would go, but just never made it happen. This morning ... it happened. When we pulled in, one of the servers was behind the place smoking, however, we did not smell it on her afterwards. We seated ourselves, and service was prompt, and the coffee was good, strong, and hot. Perfect. After we had looked at the menu, we ordered the waffle with pecans, and the two egg breakfast with ham. We had our food in about five minutes! My breakfast was near perfect. The eggs were perfectly done, as were the hash browns. From my perspective, a great breakfast has to have great hash browns. Additionally, the city ham was tasty and a bit sweet. My only small complaint is that the whole wheat toast was a bit dry, but they had mixed fruit jelly that solved that! Also, I had a taste of my wife's waffle, and it was quite good too. I think the thing that really impressed us was the staff. They had a running conversation about where they ranked among the local WH's and seemed dedicated to getting even better. Service was really on point. Our bill was $15 and change, but we left a $5 tip because everything was so well done. Way to go!!! read more

We lucked out since it was dinner time on Superbowl Sunday and we were neither watching the game, or craving typical dinner fare. It is always breakfast o'clock at the Waffle House and it was a ghost town tonight. All the better! Service was great, it was quiet so I could eat and hear myself think. What can I say, when it's late at night and I'm craving food this is my go-to place. The location is very convenient to me. Typically after catching a late night showing of a movie my friends and I are hungry, Waffle House is always the perfect place we stop at. To sum it up, the food is good, the service is great, fast, and friendly, and it's open 24 hours, what's not to love about this place. If you're ordering a waffle and like chocolate, definitely add in the chocolate chips for the few extra cents, adds depth to the waffle (not to say that plain waffles aren't good either). Update - 6/9/2018: Jasmine and Charlie were worth the second visit. Charlie is the main cook and Jasmine is a server (a great one). Tim is here again, but I didn't have him as my server during this visit. Jasmine and Charlie wear gloves by the way. The inside could still be cleaner, and Tim could use some dish-washer lessons so that he's not getting water overspray on me from clashing the plates/trays with the water/sanitizer located below the seating at the bar. Also, I received a normal waffle this time, which is what I wanted. Shout out to Tim, who made me a blueberry pecan-syrup waffle without me asking him to. It low-key wasn't that bad, but I really just wanted a normal waffle to begin with. Tim is nice and wants to take his blueberry pecan-syrup to the State Fair (rooting for you, Tim!). One of the cooks was falling asleep next to the griddle, but managed to keep himself together. Another employee came in about 20 minutes into me being here and seemed to have a more jubilant attitude than his colleagues. Inside wasn't the cleanest, and the plates and silverware are really just getting rinsed off in the sink (not sure if you already knew that) instead of steam-washed or something more sanitary. Great food, amazing people behind the counter and good service. I have been to the one in Carrollton and the one in Lewisville and both of them have been great. Food: It has very limited options for non-meat folks. However, they make absolutely delicious egg & cheese. We have also tried their waffles - both, the peanut butter and chocolate chips - which were amazing. The waffles, unlike other chains, aren't very thick and the portion is just enough for a person if you are having it as a second dish after an omelet or a scramble. The coffee isn't so great when compared to other breakfast joints though. Ambiance: It's more congested compared to other breakfast places. However, in absolute terms, still has enough space to enjoy a peaceful meal. Service: Service staff is great at both places. Nothing extraordinary but good enough to attend you when you reach there and bring the food without much of a wait time. Overall, it's perhaps my second preferred place for breakfast or a midnight binge, among chains, after IHOP. Must try if you haven't. read more

Took them 6 mins to even acknowledge I was sitting at the table. Two waiters talked about who would get my order. My order was simply a bowl of grits and hash browns with cheese, mushrooms, and ham. I'm very angry and upset, i went to this location on Sunday and they didn't even put my ticket in so i was sitting there for 30 minutes and i finally said something and the woman realized she didn't even give them my ticket they gave me my refund 10 minutes later.
