This place is the epitome of a bad restaurant. I have never seen so many bad things that happened at a restaurant until I went here. I will never visit a single Waffle House again. My girlfriend really wanted to try Waffle House since there were so many on the east coast. We figured we'd try it on our vacation. Big mistake. Should have went to the Denny's by our hotel. It was very good and had very good service when we went. I didn't really mention anything to the workers because they seemed like they would talk lots of crap about you in the corner and spit in your food. I just observed, ate, and left. When I walked in, there were at least 9 people working in a very small space. Do they really need that many people working for a few tables? We sat at the front counter area. Right as we sat down, one male worker was on his cell phone and greeted us as he was doing something on it. Very unprofessional to be on your cell phone while you are working. We finally ordered and our female server brought out our waters and utensils. My fork has a smudge of something sticky on it. I noted it and cleaned it myself. I ordered their regular meal, which came with a waffle, egg whites, 2 slices of bread, grits, and sausage. My girlfriend ordered chocolate chip blueberry pancakes. The food was nasty. My egg whites were cold, probably due to cooking them first. The grits were whatever. The waffles had nothing special to it at all. For the chocolate, it seemed like it was from a bag and thrown on the waffle. As we were eating, one of the cooks made himself food and walked to the corner of the front counter to eat. He was eating about 6-8 feet from us. From watching all these restaurant and bar help shows, you should never eat in front of customers, as well as use your cell phones. Then, our server walks over to the cook eating with a spoon, spooned a big portion of his grits into her mouth, and went back to work. After about 5 minutes, 3 other workers sat next to him and ate their breakfast. One of them were that male server on his cell phone from earlier. Were any of them actually on break? As new customers came in, that male server greeted them across the room with his mouth full. 5 minutes after that, our own server sat down and ate breakfast too. You know when it's time to go when you can look your server in the eye while both of you are eating. The layout inside was poorly done. Their cash register was recessed back, so if someone was sitting in front of it, you would have to reach over someone to pay. The bathrooms were gross. My favorite thing on the menu is the All American. You get a waffle, eggs, hash browns, and bacon and something else I think. And it's only like $6! I love it with peanut butter and chocolate chips on it, then I like to let them melt and spread it all over my waffle and go to town. This is a tough place to review.... Food alone for a cheap, breakfast spot 4 but overall restaurant cleanliness 2... First time I ever went to a Waffle House was probably sometime when I was 21 (10 years ago) a great place to eat after partying all night. Anyways this place is a very unique restaurant chain that these servers/cooks are very skilled workers.... If you notice the restaurant does not have a computer system and everything is called out and remembered, they write down the order and just work like old school diners. Everything is always cooked to order and with these little prices just about everyone can enjoy. I always feel that this place needs really big deep cleaning, and some feng shui... Very cheap prices but, I once found a whole roach in my food I was already consuming and I had food poisoning for a week as well as the fact that I was pregnant. When I told the server they told the manager who stood, visible on the cooks line and never came to my table to address the situation so we walked outside. While outdoor vomitting I looked back to the window wondering if the manager was going to come check on me, only to see the entire work crew standing in it, laughing like this was funny and normal. I've been coming to Waffle House for many years, mostly you can expect a simple place to eat breakfast. However, they make exceptions so that customers are accommodated. This specific one however made it a point that for my request to be denied. Simply asked for one of the 4 meals to have no meat and add an extra egg to the 2 eggs it came with. The waitress said she can't do it, then the manager "Katty" came and said they can't/won't do it, they can give me a different meal and add a $1 for the extra waffle. To me this is a joke. They would rather lose a $40 plus tip order then to substitute an extra egg to make a customer happy. That speaks volumes for their customer service and care for a cleint to eat here. Poor service poor product. I'd rather be at "IHOP". Right up the road. I hope this does reach there general manager Brandy!! Sad place to go, don't expect my business again. read more

The day after hurricane Irma, nothing was open except for this Waffle House near the corner or kirkman and Vineland so we decided to try it. There was a tremendously long line out the door but we didn't care because we're were starving. I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a short order diner. We gave the hostess at the front of the line our name and we were sat in about 15-20 minutes, which was really fast in this instance. We stop at this Waffle House pretty frequently on our way to Universal. They're pretty consistent with the quality of food you'd expect, my daughter gets a big fluffy waffle or hash browns and they're pretty good. The servers are usually nice. It is occasionally busy, and since it's a small building when that happens parking and seating become a nightmare. Like any waffle house I've ever been in it could use a good scrubbing down, that happens when you have grease going 24/7. All in all its a good place to stop for a quick breakfast, I'm also a fan of the occasional patty melt, but I can make a meal out of an order of hash browns. Scattered, double covered and chunked. First I would like to say I'm giving it a one star but but sure if that's even worth it due to the fact we didn't even stay to eat. This would've been my first time ever to eat at a Waffle House Food Chain but after this experience if feel I'm not missing anything. We were greater at door and asked how many and was a party of four, we were seated at the counter on the corner right. We waited an approximately 26 minutes before we decided to leave but in those 26 minutes this is what went on. People being seated attended served and no one ever came during to tells us we'll be with you in a minute or would you like some water. As we looked around I wounded it to eat there cause the place seem dirty and thought about health inspection, there was lots of little half and half empty cups on the floor under the cooking area and other stuff as well and on top of that my sister saw the young lady at the with the clip board picking on her nose, how disgusting. She my sister went and asked the young lady at the door how is the serving system goes because we were waiting for a while and no one approached us and she frankly said she didn't know and from that moment my sister said let's go to another place and she came and said "don't know why your leaving". This is no way to run a business and FYI my sister works at a Italian restaurant so so know the does and don'ts of a business and I'm a professional sales person and I deal with customers everyday and did is differently no way to treat a customer.
