Clean , not too busy .. we got our waffle sauce from the waffle boss . Our hash browns came covered , smothered , and peppered . EDIT : I am now 2.5 hours down the road from this Waffle House traveling with 4 adult passengers ... we all have the seaweed squirts and now have been searching for a suitable restroom . This is a Waffle House location that traditions are made of - I stopped here thanksgiving morning while traveling to Lake Charles after staying the night in Gulfport, knowing there was a feast waiting down the road I just wanted grab a quick breakfast and get back to driving. The restaurant was mostly empty but you could sense they were preparing for an onslaught of customers as the sun started peeking above the piney woods along this stretch of highway. Our server was very polite but she showed subtle hints that she hadn't been working very long and was a little naive in the art of customer service, I forget her name so let's call her New Waffle House Server after taking our drink order she disappeared for a number of minutes then reappeared emptied handed explaining that she would like to make fresh coffee for us, awe such a sweet thought but I'm not a local looking to kill time at the local Waffle House I'm traveling on a holiday and trying to get from point A to point B. It was only a few minutes later that NWHS reappeared with coffee in hand but had to dart back to retrieve the single servings of creamer - yes I am ready to place my order after reading and memorizing both sides of the plastic menu and as soon as NWHS returns with her pad I will do just that. Okay Fast Forward - the country ham and eggs were amazing - I ended up getting a free coffee to go - my check arrived and I left NWHS a 27.125% tip and I feel everyone was happy and thankful... read more

I love the Waffle House! It was my first time coming and my experience was a good one. My friend and I finished our swamp tour around the area and wanted to come here to try. This place destroys IHOP and Denny's! The prices are cheap too (maybe because it's the south). I devoured a plate of fresh waffle, two medium tender sized chicken breasts, and a side plate of hash browns for $12!!! Back home this would be $16-17! The food was also made from scratch in front of our eyes which is great for customers to witness. I'll definitely be eating at Waffle House more often when I'm back in the south! read more

Waffle House can be a gamble at times, but I have enjoyed many great meals from WH over the years. Tonight, though, was a bad letdown, for sure. This location on Brownswitch made our takeout order with little care. The hash browns were over cooked, and you couldn't tell a double order from a single order. The three HB's ordered, were all the same size, and the extra cheese ordered was not put on. We paid for the extra cheese, and for a double order! The bacon was burnt black, and was inedible. My kids' chocolate chip waffles had hardly any chocolate chips on them. The lack of care didn't extend to their charges though. They made sure that they got their 20% tip that they charge for takeouts, and the service charge. I don't mind paying good tips for great service. Great service and food deserves great tips! This WH did NOT deserve the tips they received. The cook needs to pay more attention to the quality of food that is put out. read more

Stopped here on the way home from Disney it's a Monday morning 8:36 am March 16. Very clean restaurant and very responsive to the whole coronavirus scare and the staff was super friendly. After a super bad experience at burger king, i came here after calling in an order and the staff was super friendly and food was hot and fresh. I will be coming back here. No, no, and no. Never get an order right. Served cold breakfast. If you want a carry out order, wait until the food arrives to pay or they'll forget all about you and start waiting on others who came in after you. Check your food before you leave. They'll always forget something to put in that you ordered, don't want to drive back to get it. Just not worth it, at all. read more

I have eaten at many different waffle houses around Louisiana, and Georgia. I have never had too much of a problem with them, until today. We were the only customers at the Waffle House on Brownswitch. So, even if they were short-handed, there would still be no excuse for the service we received today. The waitress did not seem to have a clue as to how to take orders, or how to relay the right info to the cook. First, she tried to take our order as soon as we set down, after only giving us one menu for four people. We ordered drinks, and she came back, gave us those, and stood right there at the table looking at us (presumably to get us to order quickly...mind you, we were the only ones in there). When we'd give her our order, she'd say, "Oh, I'm not sure how to write that up", and she'd question what we ordered. My daughter wanted a hash brown and sausage bowl, but she wanted the sausage on a plate on the side. All the waitress had to do was write up an order for a sausage bowl. She was in a tizzy about that. She brought our food to the table finally, and every order was wrong in some way. Something was missing on every plate. We finally got that straightened out. The food was ok, except that my husband's two over easy eggs were practically raw. Meanwhile, the waitress kept standing close by, and watching us. She even brought a plate of her own food over, and ate while watching us. It was aggravating, and slightly creepy. It was a totally bad experience. You get what you pay for here. Today we ate there after leaving the Crab Festival. It was a typical Waffle House. The problem I had was there were gnats and flies in there bugging us while we eat. I have eaten at a bunch of these restaurants and have never had this problem. But, like I said, you get what you pay for. I paid only $20 for 3 people. I will say this though, I don't eat anything from there other than eggs, waffles and grits. They do a good job with breakfast food. So, when it is 3 or 4 in the morning, this is typically the only place open. read more

My experience with this Waffle House was absolutely horrendous. My friends and I just wanted to sit down and eat and enjoy ourselves, but boy were we in for a horrid night. It started off with the server, David, not giving instruction on where to find the menu. Then, when he took our order he didn't (from what we could hear) even tell the cook. When our food came out, it was all wrong. I asked for a hamburger no bun; they put a bun on it. I asked for my hash browns to have gravy; they put cheese instead. My friend wanted raw onion on her hash brown; they undercooked the hash brown and cooked the onion. My other friends hash brown was undercooked as well. We had to get up and go to the server (who, by the way, was sitting down at a laptop) in order for us to get refills on our drinks. He forgot to bring me some of my order as well. All in all, this was the worst experience I have ever had at Waffle House and I won't be going back to this location. Either fix your attitudes or fix your staff because eventually, you will start losing a substantial amount of business. read more
