We stopped at our favorite Waffle House since 2003 on Grant Rd in Tucson this morning! BEWARE!!! We had a horrible experience with the food, noise level, cleanliness! The jukebox was so loud the server could not hear us place our order, the cooks were having a noise competition to see who could slam pots and pans the loudest, slamming and banging orders! My order of biscuits and gravy was barely warm and had so much black pepper my lips were burned! My grits were served in a bowl with one inch cubes of grits that must have been made last month! My husband had the breakfast of eggs, sausage, waffle,Toast, grits , with coffee! He has been sick since we walked out of the WH! We had not eaten at home or any place til we stopped at WH for breakfast! I love the food you serve but the place at Grant needs someone to check it out! It is overrun with homeless using the restroom facilities and eating and that may be having an effect on the food service! Whatever the cause of this place going into the gutter we will not be eating there again! Please have a food health inspector check this before you have someone get really sick! Food poison is not a pleasant thing! People today are always looking for making a lawsuit! I plan on finding a new Waffle House here in Tucson!!!! read more

Waffle House has been part of my life since I was a kid. It was a required stop on family road trips through the South. Later, in my 20s it was a required early morning spot after a night out clubbing. There was nothing like a double waffle with double bacon to soak up all the alcohol. And yes, I dodged a few fights at 3am back in the day before most had security on the weekends. I still love Waffle House and their waffles are the gold standard for me. The great thing about this chain is consistency. In all those years I can't remember having a bad meal more than a couple times anywhere. This Waffle House is the closest to my home so we often head here for a meal. What's there to say? Waffle House employees are friendly and fun. The food is great. But, I now tend to eat there in the early evening and sober. read more

The first one I ever went to was in Atlanta Georgia, followed by one in Greensboro, North Carolina, Both of those were extremely similar to each other. Now I can add a Tucson location to the list. I am not complaining about the locations being the same, but I can't help but be a tiny bit disappointed. I am not in the South anymore, so I was expecting a location in the southwest to be slightly different. Not that it's a bad thing, After all, all Waffle Houses are holes in the wall, with greasy spoon menu offerings and excellent customer service. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a typical early morning dining experience. Its not fancy, but if you are looking for a cheap and filling meal, this is a good bet. read more

I dine here as often as I can. Staff is always friendly, personable. I usually sit at table 21 but recently enjoyed sitting right up at the bar top. I love the banter between coworkers. They have tomato juice too! FREDDY IS THE MOST AMAZING AND SWEETEST HOST IVE EVER MET. His optimistic attitude is truly one of a kind, each time I go there I cross my fingers that he is there at the door to greet, his enthusiasm and kindness is infectious. Thank you to all the workers! Oh my goodness!!!!! Sooooo delicious!!! Being from California, I look forward to stopping in at a Waffle House whenever we travel and see one close by!! Took my niece as she lives near here and had never been!! She was very happy with my choice! The customer service once you walk in is very nice & professional. The gentleman greeted us, told us it would be a bit of a wait, apologized for that (found that sweet even though it wouldn't be his fault), was cleaning & helping his coworkers clean and wash. I didn't catch his name. Tattoos (WuTang) is what I can name him. Very nice guy. As we sat at the bar, Q was our sever and he was just as friendly and professional as the other guy! The whole staff had a flow that they just meshed so right together. We ordered & quickly had our delicious hot breakfast in front of us in no time! If I lived closer I probably would be eating breakfast here every day. The staff being so friendly and professional and the food just as great, who wouldn't want to visit this Waffle House!! Visited Waffle House 12/27/16 Tuesday for the first time. From the outside it looked nice, no frills, and welcoming. Walking in my first thoughts were the floors, tables and counter were all clean, and the staff seemed friendly. We were a large group so we sat scattered throughout the restaurant. Our server Q was nice and friendly. We all tried the All Star breakfast which consisted of two eggs, hash browns or grits, toast, ham, sausage or bacon and most importantly Pancake. The pancake was really nice and the coffee was yummy. It was cheap and the food was good. No complaints from me. We would definitely be back. read more

Throw in some mediocre coffee open 24/7 with some questionable and upstanding members of the community, it's all good. I prefer the double, covered, and peppered with eggs over easy and raisin toast. If I could give 0 stars I would walked in at about 8am this morning everything looked good and as I walked over to sit near the window there was LOTS of flies which was disgusting so we moved tables and flies were just all up and down this place and there was ants on the table so disgusting this place is filthy, food is okay could be better was cold wouldn't recommend. So after a drunk night at Tap n Bottle + 4th avenue... It turns out I was the only one in the group that hadn't ever been to a Waffle House. Gasps ensued and soon enough, after being told by 5 people how good it is, I was pumped up to experience this place. could this be the end of denny's? no more ihop? We went in and I ordered the coffee... I've had bad coffee in my life. I've been exposed to those nasty concentrates in machines that just dilute out with hot water. I've seen powdered coffee (I'm not even talking about instant coffee).... but this was the most disgusting cup of coffee I've ever had. It was a mix of burned beans with death. My drunk ass kept drinking it anyways but each time I kept recalling why I enjoy torturing myself and then reminded myself also that my heels were killing me so it must be a constant in my life apparently.... Anyways, I ordered some cheap 2 egg, hashbrown toast thing... I didnt even realize I didnt get a waffle until afterwards. Not that the waitress didnt get it but I wanted to eat a waffle at Waffle House... doh! I ordered the hashbrowns with sloppy jaloppy terminology stacked racks on racks whatever and was applauded by my drunk obnoxiousness and feat Now mind you.... this was after a night of drinking where even frozen food tastes great.... My eggs came out with that cheap canola crappy veggie crappy oil floating on top like a pond. Blech! I doused everything with Tabasco and continued to eat. Toast had extra pools of butter too--- so grossly unhealthy and just the way I like it so I ate them dipping them into my over easy eggs. The hashbrowns were um.... bizarre. It's been 11 years since my fiancé stoped at this Waffle House. I was greeted by Kenya and Saige with smiles and tasty recommendations. Chef Michael backed the recommendations and suggested the pork chop dinner. We were served our piping hot dinners and could not resist ordering a hot waffle as well. The service by the staff here was superb and I would do a 9 hour drive again just to eat here with their friendly attitude. The bathrooms were so disgusting we had to leave before ordering. When my wife entered the ladies restroom, the floor drain was clogged and a large pooled area of smelly, stagnant urine was all around the sink area with human feces floating on the floor. You had to step on this cesspool if you wanted to wash your hands. There were roaches walking around and dead one's floating. I can't imagine how this place wasn't shut down, especially considering that the employees use the same bathroom. We ate at the nearest IHOP. read more

This one sucks. I have been looking forward to visiting one as there isn't one in Vegas where I live full time. The cook didn't get the hash brown order right then both of our orders were sent back. Rather than re cook the hash browns with the stuff cooked in like should have been done. The ingredients were just put on top! The waitress Ernsteen just brought it back. So she failed as well. I love Waffle House and after waiting to come here for many months I am ticked. On top of that the only other customers in the place the guy asked her twice for a drink and the lady with him filmed him going behind the counter to get his own drink! Very very bad service, 1 hour passed by without anybody attending to us, once i got my order, the coffee mug had a lipstick stain on it and i was NOT wearing any lipstick, it wasn't even washed it came right off. Once my friends waffle had a hair on it. Not recommended and im never coming back. The tables weren't clean either and the food was cold as well.
