Plus they have a great wine list and great cocktails. I don't think there is anywhere else like it anywhere. Also fwiw- one past reviewer mentioned the Chihuly "inspired" glass sculptures. Honey, those are genuine Chihuly originals and they are sprinkled throughout the property. Great Art is part of the back story of The Horse Shoe Farm.

When securing the hot springs resort and spa, my "friend" wanted to book it late at night around 9 pm. I wasn't too fond of that idea since I wanted to view the scenery. Anyway, he changed the reservation time by phone. We went with the basic package for 60 minutes. Once we arrived, the parking lot was spacious. We went to check in and purchased some souvenirs that were a bit on the pricey side. An older gentleman who was nice walked us to our hot springs which was just a secluded hot tub near a free-flowing body of water. The hot tub temperatures were warm and not skin-burning hot, but it was perfect since it eased my tense and painful muscles that I had been temporarily suffering since the beginning of the week. I can't say if the water was real mineral water or not. I just wasn't expecting the hot springs to be a hot tub with jets. My expectations were much higher, as I had imagined like the ones in Colorado. I was hoping to nestle my body against some geological formations as I was engulfed in peace and relaxation.

It felt like we were on a second honeymoon. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. It didn't take long for us to feel like family and fit right in. That being said, this place is not for everyone. Please do not come here expecting people to look like movie stars or personal trainers. We are normal people with normal bodies--some are large and some are small, some older and some younger. Please do not come here if you are easily offended by nudity or staring. When we arrived, there were many stares at us but it was never creepy or alarming; just curiosity from the residents or frequent visitors. This is a place where "no" means no and people respect that so you can feel safe. I never felt like a piece of meat during my stay. Please do not come here if you expect a five-star resort with brand new facilities and all the amenities. This place has been here for a while and it's clear to see as you look around. However, old doesn't mean dirty. The bathrooms, showers, and play areas were cleaner than some of the other resorts or clubs we have visited. For this visit we stayed in our RV so I can't review the accommodations. But our site was in a quiet spot by the river, very beautiful and peaceful. The clubhouse had plenty of tables and seating with a pool table, two poles (one spinny and one static), and a dance floor--a great place to cool off during the day or socialize at night. Upstairs in the clubhouse is the Little Charter House which has a small but clean play area with sheets, towels, and wipes. But the main Charter House where weekend parties usually end up is up the hill. It has play areas and a nicely arranged dungeon for bdsm play that's called The Den. This was our first visit. We stayed on a Tuesday through Sunday and we will definitely be returning. Where else can you nap in the sun, swim, exercise, play games, socialize, eat and drink, or do whatever tickles your fancy, all while wearing nothing but your birthday suit? It's really quite freeing. Regardless of whether you are a nudist, new or experienced in the lifestyle, or just looking for a great getaway with some wonderful people, I highly recommend The Grove.

Accommodations: Sparse but pretty nice. Altho be warned if you choose a cabin; the circular staircase is a tight fit for taking luggage to the bedroom, and there is no bathroom on the 2nd (bedroom) floor, so you may be climbing down and up that stairway in the middle of the night. Food: none. The on-site restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday; bring your own food or plan to drive into town to eat. Some websites state that this place offers room service, but it does not. Poolside bar is only open on the weekend. Recreation, etc.: nice pool, the best part of Skylaranna, and it's open 24 hours. I didn't try the hot tub or spa. There are hiking trails, but I can't speak about them as it was too hot and buggy when I was there to walk more than a hundred feet into the woods. re cleanliness: My cabin and subsequent room were both clean. Lacked some basic amenities, like Kleenex, and sample size insect repellant would have been helpful, but maybe that's asking too much. A bag of trash was placed outside the door of the room across the hall from me, and it was not picked up the two days I was there. Supposedly there is someone onsite but I never saw him, and obviously he didn't walk around and make sure things were good. Re location: lovely. It was an expensive stay, especially when you figure in the cost of buying meals/food for two days.

Wanting to soak in the hot tub, I asked about the spa package and the Anna told me that it included the steam room, dry sauna, pool and hot tub, so I agreed. After the steam I went outside to lay by the pool and get some fresh air, and I heard some people there talking to the guy that answered the phone, that the hot tub and pool are only heated and open on Fridays and Saturdays right now. When I went in I asked Anna if there pool and hot tub were closed and she said yes. But I had just asked you what the spa package included and you said pool and hot tub, but didn't mention anything about Friday and Saturday only, and all she did was repeat that they are only open Friday and Saturday, but I was still charged the full spa package fee. Not a good start. Went to my cabin (had to call to find out which one, bc the confirmation email didn't specify which unit. Again, not good business practice, especially since they don't have a front desk. Room looked fine, modern, nice view of the woods and stream down below, but the cabins were apparently so poorly constructed, that you can hear every sound and FEEL every single footstep from the neighbor above you and hear the neighbor beside you as well. When I got inside, the wall unit wasn't on at all, so I set it to 73. I woke up sometime in the early morning bc it was so cold in the room, checked the unit and it was on 67! I kept trying to turn it to anything above 73 but for some reason it is holding at 67, a setting I can't figure out how to change apparently. I came here to try to unwind bc I am a full time caregiver to my special needs son, and I am more tired and stressed then before I got here. I do not recommend this for someone trying to relax. Next time, I will book a treehouse with a hot tub, with no neighbors! So disappointed in this place.

We were there during the week and had our whole section of the campground to ourselves and we had the pool completely to ourselves 2 days in a row The 1st night there was a whopping thunderstorm and our yurt was so cozy! Lying in bed watching the lightning through the skylight and hearing the rain on the canvas will always be a favorite memory for us! I feel so lucky that we found this cute campground! Because of the fires there was a burn ban however it wasn't a problem. The hiking trails were very nice and everything was clear from Helene so we could access them. We were camping in our RV but there are so many great accommodations if you don't have anything to camp in. To me the best thing was the bathroom and shower! I have never been to a campground that had such great showers!! Incredibly clean and they have shampoo, conditioner and body wash in there for you to use. They even had towels rolled up in cubbies! Who has that! We loved it so much that we already booked a spot for next year :)
