Trust us when we say our puppy never gets tired and has lots of ENERGY. We were not training our dog very well-even though we tried our best-and on our second visit to the vet to get her shots, the vet had a very hard time controlling our puppy and suggested that we take our puppy to training and referred us to BA Professional K9 Training. We followed the vet's advice and contacted Ben. My wife and I both are extremely satisfied with the results we have seen in two months of training. It is amazing to see such drastic improvement in such a short time. We would recommend BA Professional K9 Training to anyone who needs help training their dog, needs help correcting certain behaviors, or just wants to attain the best owner / dog experience, Ben, has helped us so much with our new labrador puppy and has a very planned and methodical approach to his training. When we drop off / pick up our puppy for day training we get individualized training based on the needs of our puppy. We can also plan on having a tuckered out well exercised dog that day. Our six month old puppy has learned to walk properly on her leash (no pulling ) which has taken a once stressful time to an enjoyable time with our dog. She has learned to greet people calmly and to refrain from jumping. Our puppy is getting plenty of opportunities to socialise with other dogs as well. We have learned to take control of our puppy rather than her taking control of us. Ben gives us the "tools" needed to continue training our dog at home and is available to answer questions even after day training hours. Ben's assistant, Brian, is also very knowledgeable and helpful. We are so glad that BA Professional K9 Training was recommended to us by our veterinarian. My son's dog was here for 16 days and of course when he and his wife came to get him, there was…read moresomething wrong with his ear. It turned out to be an oral hematoma. This is a very serious matter. We spent this past Sunday on the phone with 16 different vets, nobody would see the dog. Loves Park agreed to fit him in if we could get there in 40 minutes which we did. Doctor was very helpful. Explained everything that was going on with the dog drained his ear. Found out he had an infection in an ear. He told us what to expect and we are very, very happy with the service.

In this last experience at making a routine appointment, I spoke with a technician on the phone who was condescending, argumentative, and would not listen to me on what my cat needed. She dug her heels in. Then the vet (whom I did not speak to myself) called and left a message explaining the rationale of the THEIR decision on what my cat needed without involving me in that process. I cannot trust anyone with my animals who won't listen to me. Unfortunately I won't be returning. I spoke with some friends feeling frustrated and three of them said "I would never take my pets to Dogwood". I've since moved to a different local vet and so far, had a very good experience from scheduling to interacting with all the techs and vets!

I had a recommendation to use Tina through next door. I interviewed her and she seems great with…read morepets. She is $35 per half hour visit, and $200 per day for overnights. She has a surcharge of $20 per visit for holidays and the days around the holidays (sometimes the weeks), which I found a bit high and since I usually go on vacation around holidays (I'm a teacher), I would have to avoid a fair amount of possible vacation dates to be able to afford her fees. Also, she lives too far from us, so our only option for vacations would be to pay the $200 fee for overnights and I was not clear if she'd be with the dogs during the day because she said she's usually gone around 11 am into the the later evening. Tina knows everyone in the pet community and we had a rewarding time trading information about vets, chiropractors for dogs, etc. I feel like she'd be a great fit for us if her fees were lower, or if she lived closer to us.

Throughout the initial interview process, it was clear to us that Tina is a professional, clearly loves what she does, and has tremendous training/experience. Tina was able to quickly bond with our dog and alleviated any concerns we had from the get-go. She is thorough and organized, took notes for the future, and helped us to feel that our dog would be in great hands. The notes that she left for us during her visits were very detailed and showed great care and compassion for our dog. She played outside with him even in the cold weather, sat with him while he ate, and left a nice toy for him too. We feel that she went above and beyond what we would have expected and will hire her again without hesitation.
