All the food is vegetarian, and much of it appeared vegan. There's a little sitting area attached. The daily offering is an array of six or so cold dishes (green salads, grain and lentil salads, pasta), all quite tasty and healthy. If you've had your share of bread and cheese, you'll find this place especially welcome. Friendly staff, and reasonably priced. I didn't expect to find actual prepared food at the store, much less food that was tasty and felt healthy, so it was especially nice to find this place.

In the afternoon I'd stock up on fresh pasta, meats and veggies for dinner. I used the restaurant inside for free internet access while I sipped on a beer before returning home. I even bought most all my groceries in the small market inside. My new love is d'arbo honig cremig. I hate to say it but I even went online and had 20 jars shipped to the US at over $10 each...ouch...but I'm addicted to the stuff! Markthalle is a truly wonderful place!
