Shopping, dining, and banking in Waikele, O'ahu, Hawaii... I didn't really know that this Shopping area was called Waikele Center. It's located across from the Waikele Premium Outlet. If the second right hand turn from the freeway leads you to the Outlet, Waikele Center is the first right turn after you exit the freeway. Waikele Center is probably known most for its McDonald's, Starbucks, Party City, and Lowe's. There are food trucks towards the back. They're visible from the freeway. I was there for the new Hawaii State Federal Credit Union inside of the Safeway that's next to Old Navy Outlet. I walked across the property to Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union between Coldwell Banker Realty and Local Motion. This was a good learning experience! I've always liked visiting Waikele. Its always been convenient for me to visit no matter where we lived. The only thing I don't like about Waikele is how wide spread everything is... That's not the only reason why though. I mean, getting steps while doing some retail therapy is great, but not when there isn't a safe way to do so. There should be sidewalks or clear pathways to all parts of the property you want the guests to visit. Not exactly the case here. I don't know if the trolley still runs, but I know there was one at some point and it would bring guests to all parts of the property. My favorite shop used to be the pet store, that's long gone... Now I visit the Taste Tea truck and Safeway more than anything. There are eateries like McDonalds, KFC, Genki Sushi, Baskin Robbins, etc... That reminds me, I have been meaning to visit Kunis for years now and still haven't gotten around to it! I'll make it there some day... On my most recent visit, I saw they were planning to open a Sephora. That'll be nice. I would honestly like to see more stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshalls. I know there are those stores in nearby locations. But there are 3 Starbucks locations in Mililani and no ones complaining. Us women like more retail options! read more

Just across the street from the Outlet stores Waikele Center has more restaurants and bigger stores. I like coming here for Genki Sushi then Baskin Robbins or Starbucks after. A simple get together you could say before going shopping or vice versa. There's more parking on this side so sometimes my family would just park here then walk over. Sometimes it's scary to cross the parking lot or roads within the Center, some drivers don't look carefully or slow down. read more

Sorry this is a little late but Waikele Center has been hosting a food and craft fair in the old Kmart parking lot , side by side with all the lunch wagons ,I was heading to Safeway when I took notice of it and I decided to walk around and give it a try, I was pleasantly overwhelmed that every one there was police presence at the event , enforcing the practicing of Covid-19 standards, 6 ' distancing , face masks on every one , face shields on some , rubber gloves on all venders and hand sanitizer stations spread throughout.There were many food vendors and local snack vendors, a few arts and crafts venders and even a children's balloon character creatures , I'm so sorry not a lot of pics , there was just far to many people and animals in movement to take decent pics for myself to share, read more

We love our Safeway store in Kapolei but sometimes go to the Waikele Safeway for more variety. We love the variety of products and cooked items for sale there. Another plus is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff in Waikele. There are more staff members available in the aisles and areas in the Waikele store to ask questions if you have any. They also have big displays of gift products for children and holidays. read more

We had a few hours left before our flight was leaving back to VA and so we decided to check this place out. We thought it was going to be an indoor mall but came to realize that its an outdoor shopping center. The coolest thing we found was the Leonard's Malasadamobile Wagon. We were super glad that we could get one more bite of those delicious freshly made Malasadas before leaving Hawaii. Waikele center has alot of stores that I like. Old Navy, Lowes, Woodys hotdog stand, Leonard's malasada, shave ice, hawaiian food...ALL centrally located. Now that Kmart is gone hopefully they will bring in a store to generate more business for the existing businesses. read more

For those confused, the 'Waikele Premium Outlets' is the side of Lumiaina with Coach, Banana Republic and Zales. The 'Waikele Shopping Center' is the other side of the road with K-Mart, Old Navy and Sports Authority. It's the 'Shopping Center' I'm writing about in this review. On normal days, the center is actually pretty nice. Parking spots are a little wider, the store selection is good, the choice of restaurants is sufficient. However, the parking where Subway and Party City is at is WAY TO FEW PARKING STALLS! The same problem exists over where Borders used to be (the new Gap Outlet is going there). That good and bad aside, this center had the gall to charge $5 per vehicle to park in there lot to shop at there stores on Black Friday. Huh!? It's bad enough folks are having a hard time making ends meet and finding money to Christmas shop, but at 2:00am, the shoppers aren't tourists! They're locals. You folks should really re-think your parking charge policy on the best shopping day of the year. I think they justify it by calling it 'Event Parking.' Huh!? What event? Shopping, that can be done every other day of the year? NOT COOL!! read more

Great place to come after you're done shopping the the outlets and have worked up an appetite. They have restaurants for every price range--from McDonald's to Kunios. When you're done you can get dessert at Baskin Robbins. Win! read more

LOVE Premium Outlets!!! The Waikele Premium Outlet has a wide variety of brand name shops that always provides the consumers with unbeatable prices that the same stores outside of the mall do not provide. The center is broken up into two parts, upper and lower. The shops located on the upper side seems to be where most of the popular brand name touristy shops are located (with some local shops), and the lower side is where the restaurants are as well as some other merchants. Old Navy, Gap, and Sports Authority are located on the lower side so it is still definitely worth visiting. read more

People do NOT know how to read and follow the rules. Plainly at the driveway there are signs saying NO OUTLET PARKING & Lowe's parking only. Yet theparking lot at Lowe's is packed full. I wastrying to go to Lowe's and had to corcle once ro find a stall, so irritating. Even saw people walking to the outlets from the Lowe's lot. Security is no help,no where to be found. LOOSE MONEY. If have ro go to Lowe's and not critical go to the town store during the holiday season, way easier to get into the store there right now. read more

Welcome to my hood...Waikele. This place is so convenient for me. Also let me just say that without the Premium Outlets, this place would only get 3 stars. This place has a little of everything. There is Kmart, Lowes, Office Max, Party City, various places to eat (Chili's, Genki Sushi...), STARBUCKS, Jamba Juice, and of course the Outlets! I love the outlets, and I think it's the only outlet mall in Hawaii...correct me if I'm wrong because I didn't do the research. One thing I don't like is that I feel like there isn't ample parking by the outlets. There is the option of catching the trolley that is provided as a free service. Another area I think there is limited parking for the amount of traffic is where all the eateries are. Overall, it's a great place to find some good deals, or to grab a bite or coffee. Ewwww, talk about being greedy. Get this, Event Parking $5. The event you ask, Black Friday. ewwww. I can see if there were valet service, but nope, you just pay $5 to park in a super empty lot. That's just greedy. So after Thanksgiving dinner (full length dinner, non-rushed, not cut short to go shopping) decided to check out Old Navy to see if there was anything good. Took the drive down to Waikele Center. To my dismay, there were signs up saying "Event Parking $5, Cash Only". I was like, no way, Black Friday as an event??? I'm used to an event as something that happens occasionally like a concert or show. So I get up to the lady collecting cash and I'm like so whats the event, she says "Black Friday". I'm like this is ridiculous and I tell her I just want to exit. I now know better to go to the Ala Moana Old Navy that has FREE parking. Waikele Center has left a bad taste in my mouth. Their greed to gouge consumers is too much to stomach. I often take lunch trips from work to Lowe's (one of my favorite home repair stores btw), but no more. I hope Waikele Center is happy that I will no longer spend my money at Lowes or any other retailer in their center. Come on??? $5 really? are you that desperate for money???? read more

This place has grown a lot over the past decade or so. It's been a while since I have walked through all the stores since I really just don't have the money or taste for the brands that I do see. When I do come here, I mainly go to Sketchers because it's a lot cheaper than the one in Ala Moana but it's also about 5xs more crowded in that store. I also like to check out Kmart (especially during the holdys) and Lowes when I can't find what I need at Home Depot (which is 9/10 cheaper than Lowes in my experience). I also use Party City for specialty items I can't get at Walmart and of course Genki Sushi is a must when we are spending any time in this shopping center. read more

I love this shopping area, it's always nice to shop here, mixed with locals as well as tourists. It can get a bit crowded so either come as soon as they open or late afternoon/night is not too bad. I haven't dared to come and shop on Black Friday here but this year I am tempted, as I am a new fan of the Kate Spade outlet here. I love all the outlet stores at Waikele, you can always find something to shop for or come and eat at one of the food restaurants here including my fave Chilis. Parking is plentiful and a convenient trolley picks you up and takes you to either side of this large outdoor shopping center. There is also Old Navy, Kmart and Sports Authority. Also a hotdog cart and shaved ice cart for that cold afternoon treat on a hot day! Let's not forget about Starbucks and Jamba here! Both tasty drink options depending on mood or weather! This review is for the "bottom" half of Waikele (the side with Sports Authority). I like this area of the mall because there are TONS of parking spaces and lots of shaded parking too (because of all the trees). You will NOT have a problem finding parking at all because there are so many. Unless you are greedy and are trying to get one of the first few stalls. Just be careful though because the area tends to have a lot of speedy parkers. Big parking lots equals fast drivers. Also, all the stores on this side of Waikele center are spaced out pretty far so depending on where you go, you will probably have to drive to it! No "mall bathrooms" either. You will have to use a bathroom in one of the stores. read more

i guess this is in review for the whole Waikele Center complex. Waikele Center is almost like Pearlridge Shopping Center in the sense that it has to "Phases." The upper "Mauka" side of Waikele Center is the Premium Outlets where you have all sorts of outlet shops such as Coach, Banana Republic, Zales, Converse, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic, Juicy Couture, Local Fever, Local Motion, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. This place gets pretty busy during the weekends, holidays, and especially Black Friday. The parking in the front sides of the outlet can sometimes be competitive but there is more in the side back areas. The lower "Makai" side of Waikele Center is the shopping center itself with Sports Authority, Starbucks, McDonald's, KFC, Genki Sushi, Party City, Leonard's Jr. Malasadas, KMart, etc. There's lots of parking in the area down there. The shave ice stand over there is legendary and probably rivals popular overrated shave ice places on the island. There is a free trolley that goes around the Center if you are too lazy to walk from one side to the other. There's also a nice mini food court area within the main strip of the Waikele Outlet mall towards the front entrance where the trolley stops. This is a popular place for both tourists and locals alike. Mostly tourists go down to the outlet mall areas. There are shuttle services that go from Waikele all the way down back to Waikiki. waikele.. the only outlet shopping center on this island.. they have an upper portion.. and a lower portion.. if you're too lazy to walk.. then they have a trolley :) lower portion.. have more food places to eat.. McDonalds.. malasadas.. Starbucks.. sushi.. KFC.. you get the jist.. they have a k mart old navy and credit union bank machine as well :D party city isn't all that great over here.. (the one heading into town on Nimitz seems to have a better set up) plenty of parking!! upper portion., the fancier stores.. coach polo Levi's.. haha.. they have a great Carter's selection!! babies!! yay!! i went on a little shopping spree for my nephew and daughter :) and of course.. there there's always deals. the crocs outlet.. seems still pretty pricey. in the middle you have more clothing stores and there are little venues where you can grab snacks.. like lumpia. haha.. you gotta head all the way to the back.. past the chocolate Godiva place and hang a right.. then just follow the signs.. yeah.. that's how far the bathroom is!! walk walk.. you get some more stores.. maybe you find deals better than other places.. but sometimes the selection isn't all that great. I will say this though.. polo is probs one of the best places to shop.. cause they really got deals in there. hahaha.. especially if you are military and got your ID. I got my husband a nice plain white button up shirt for less than $40 as a Christmas gift and less than $15 on cotton shirts for my dad (these shirts happen to be my dads fav cause of the softness) come experience waikele.. just have your walking shoes on.. oh and some water cause most likely going to get hot.. being an outdoor outlet mall and all.. hehe read more

I really enjoy coming to this shopping center, especially because I live down the road. Its a great place to come and eat after you finished shopping your little heart out. The parking is okay, but on other days its a real pain. Its pretty clean, especially the new bathrooms that they recently renovated. I probably come here twice a week, that's how much I like this place. I also LOVE the trolley, I remember when I was younger my family would come here just to ride the trolley, good ole days. I asked one of your workers (Clarissa) if the cookies are ready. I was on a tight schedule so I had to get my order fast and quick. Guess how long I had to wait? For more than 5 minutes. Why does it take 5 minutes just to grab a piece of cookie and bring it to the front? I expected Mcdonald's to live up to its name by being a "fast" food restaurant. I see Clarissa taking her sweet time taking peoples orders and giving change. I swear, I would've leaved by then but I already payed for the stale cookie. I consider you should evaluate some of you workers more often. read more

What a great first time experienced... I came down here to order 2 venti green tea blended with tai walls. It was perfectly good after a good walk, but the service on the register made my day completely ruined. Ignoring customers like you are not there was how I felt. I was the third customer, there was 2 people on the line, I was at the right side of them. Then 5 came in on the left forming a line, after the second person has been taken, was I not supposed to be asked if I needed something, thuh!!! I was looking at you register person. I am the next, but you ignored me. Do not assume that all guests know where to go and form a line. I am the third customer who was there, do I deserve to be help first before the next five who came in after me. You greeted them and helped the fourth customer, but I was the one in front of you as I do not exist, I felt stupid waiting for nothing, so what I did I went all the way to the end of the line of 7-8 people forming a line. The line is getting longer and longer. I know it could have been better, but she missed the opportunity. No greeting, no acknowledgement, and no friendly service, because even if the product is okay but the feeling of the costumers being ignored caused the bad impact. Again, since my order is blended, it has been made after all the people's drink, like after ten minutes of waiting. I would accept that, but there was no "thank you for waiting" words to comfort the customer. I am a part of Waikele Shopping Center, this is my second home. I didn't know that the electric stations is closed at night. I've been charging my car in the late evening cause I go to the gym. I been coming by around 12 am the usual time and noticed it was blocked off. So I'm just wondering if the hours of operation has changed. I looked for security and there was none present. So I just turn around.. It says 24 hrs.. When I do call the number a male I'm guessing security stated that that area is closed.. Didn't wanna get into it. He actually didn't give me a chance he hung up.. What kind of service is this. I'll stick to the early evening.. They have greater customer service.. well, went into Lowe's for paint matching. stood at the counter for 15-20 min. person making paint did not acknowledge our presence at all. finished his customer....then fiddled around and then asked what I needed. a man came and stood next to me and if he had helped that man, I would have been super upset. and yes, he was actually going to do just that. because even as he was asking me what I needed, he was looking at the guy next to me. then he said my paint chip samples were too small and I had to get bigger pieces. I let him know I scrapped them off my walls...not a good thing because now I have an ugly patch on my walls. he said too small...need bigger. then the guy next to me started telling me what to do. so I told both of them that I worked in a paint store, I know they can match paint with the chip I brought in. I've seen it done many times. so the guy behind the counter said, he wasn't trained for that. and then proceeded to help the guy standing next to me. well.....I might be female and short...but I'm not invisible, I'm not stupid, I'm not blind. guess Lowe's trains their people to help customers they want to. no customer service nothing. so thank you for waiting...knowing I've been waiting a while...no acknowledgement nothing. Lowe's sure knows how to train their staff on how to treat customers. DON"T shop in this store unless you like being treated really bad. read more
