Mass produced jerky like Jack Link's etc... can't even compare to this stuff. The pieces are huge and smoky (you're in the wrong place if you're looking for maple glazed, jalapeno infused, teriyaki jerky, as these guys just sell man-jerky!). The packaging is as basic as it gets, but you're not paying for packaging are you... I live in Ontario and still order my jerky from Meatco in bulk, as I can't find anything comparable here. Just ensure there's not a military exercise ongoing in Wainwright when you try to order your jerky - because the lads will eat the shop dry for a few week period. Awesome local company with fans across the nation.

They don't really serve food, but have a great snack menu. I had the spinach dip and chips. So good! Different than any I'd had before as it had bacon in it and was kind of cheddary. They didn't act like we were too crazy for "fan girling" over the fact that Jonny Harris had been there. We were running late, having taken too much time at the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin, and we arrived embarrassingly close to closing and they had a bachelor party planned there for that evening, even still the gentleman behind the bar gave us a tour of the facilities and a brief history of the brewery, explaining that after losing one of the last remaining businesses in Edgerton (a farm equipment rental company) some local residents bought the building and started the brewery. Now they are widely recognized for their brews - such as my favorite, The Great White Combine White IPA. The local liquor store proudly carries the breweries products, so we picked some up and sat by the Ribstone Creek itself, and enjoyed a couple. Whether you're looking for something good at the liquor store, or you're in the mood for a brewery that's a bit out of the way - Ribstone Creek is a top choice. Weird nature side note - saw a turkey vulture on our way home! Turns out there is a small breeding population in East-Central Alberta. Who knew?
