The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. We would recommend KBR for any project that you might have. Karen was great to work with and even when we were not following through with things on our end, she never lost her cool with us and was very patient waiting for us to come to decisions on things. Kitchen Direct and the President and Owner Scott Curti took $35,000 of our money and never…read morecompleted the renovation of our kitchen. All our bottom kitchen doors and drawers were made incorrect. We were given plywood doors and drawers when we paid for real wooden doors. All the staining was missing throughout the kitchen. Front and bottom panels were never installed, and a top cabinet door was never made. Because of the wrong size cabinets we also cannot access our trash or recycling bins. The cabinets we chose were Showplace Cabinetry and even though our kitchen is under warranty, Showplace refuses to do the warranty work, as Showplace will only deal with Kitchen Direct, and they refuse to help the customer even after Kitchen Direct refused to complete our kitchen. Through the entire kitchen renovation there has been a multitude of mistakes, errors and inaccurate measurements etc. Scott Curti sent us a letter, telling us that he was too frustrated and he quit. We fought this for months through the BBB and the RI Attorney General's Office. In RI if you do not go through a very reputable company, the company and contractor will not be held liable to complete the work that you have paid them for. The laws have to be changed. I have called Showplace and sent emails to the President, only to be hug up on and emails that went unanswered. The Attorney General's Office does not have jurisdiction upon forcing Kitchen Direct and the owner Scott Curti to complete our kitchen. We have been living a nightmare, and we do not have the money to obtain an Attorney, which is our only recourse. After paying $35,000 our only option will be to paint the entire kitchen and hire someone to build a cabinet door and all the missing panels. If Scott Curti has a rebuttal with this complaint, PLEASE BE AWARE!!!! Do not purchase any cabinetry from Kitchen Direct or that is made by Showplace as they will not stand by mistakes that any kitchen company makes. My husband is in his 80's and I am almost 80. She provided me a few designs / price points to choose from and I found them to be transparent with their pricing. Remodel stayed on schedule, which was huge for us. (I was 7.5-8mo pregnant at the start of the work, so I was concerned about timing) The quality of the work seems to be high, no issues so far. Their crew was pleasant to have in our home. (Respectful of napping toddler, pets, friendly, clean! etc.) Scotty, our project manager was great. Other reviews comment on them being overpriced, but unfortunately any quality home re-model will be expensive these days. RIKB handled everything from start to finish and allowed me to be as stress free as possible. Would use them again.
