I grew up going to this clinic. I had the same doctor for my entire childhood and majority of my teen years. They're a very fond memory in my childhood; they were so patient and welcoming despite all the times 6yr old me made their and the equally kind nurses' lives hell by screaming anytime I got a flu shot. My mother worries a lot and used to bring me in for a visit even if I had just a mere cough, but this doctor would be so attentive and check me thoroughly so they knew exactly what to do for me. I'm an adult now, but I'm still connected to my parent's insurance so I might as well use it for as long as I've got it. I truly hope that doctor doing well in their retirement, but I do wish they would come back just to see what a drop of quality this place has become. I've been feeling this for a while, but my most recent visit really made me write this review and decide to look somewhere else for my future doctor visits. So I needed to come in to get my ears checked bcuz they were building pressure and I knew they probably needed clearing and maybe some drops. I don't want to write off the staff as incredibly nasty and/or rude, but I always get the sense that they just don't give a crap about anyone. You stand for check-in for about 15min as the lady click clacks on her computer just to be told to have a seat. Like, ofc we know to do that, but why hold for 15min as if you're gonna tell us something?? We also get interrupted frequently and they give us this weird attitude paired with their answers. So not the most welcoming. So we sit for like, an abnormally long time. It's abnormal because the place is DEAD. I remember a time when the waiting area, BOTH areas, were jam packed even at obscure times, so waiting a while was brutal but expected. But there were literally TWO people waiting with us, and somehow we ended up waiting for an hour??? Maybe it's because of COVID, like maybe they need time to clean, but when I eventually went inside to the second waiting area, I saw them sanitize an used room and that took, at most, 15min. So I really didn't know what the hold up is for. So after waiting in the main room and the second room for an unnecessary long time, I am finally seen by the doctor that took over since the one I talked about retired. And just like their staff, they are very much distant, cold, and acts like they can't be bothered. I've been seen by them a good number of times, and they always walk in without a greeting, sit at the computer to stare at it with a few clacks, and mutter "how can I help". We don't even feel like we're listened to anyways; all they do is just look at my face, check my throat maybe, and send me off. This time was no different. And when I tried to tell this doctor "I think my ears need to be cleared, there's a little pain--" I literally didn't even finish when they cut me off with "sorry I don't clean ears." I say "I'm sorry what." and they reply simply with "our ear machine broke 5 years ago so we don't do ears. Sorry, go elsewhere." And we walked out, baffled. This is what truly pissed me off. The staff knew my mother and I were coming in for ears. When we checked in, we told them it's for ears. We waited for an hour JUST for ears. At NO POINT did ANYONE say that they cannot treat ears because "their machine broke". I know it's the doctor that ultimately decides the treatment and the treating, but you mean to tell me that no one BUT the doctor knew the status of their 'machine'? No one bothered to ask? Even if I kept my ear problem vague and didn't describe what was wrong, couldn't they at least said a disclaimer that they can take a look but cannot treat it because their equipment is down? They literally wasted our time for what was supposed to be a simple visit for a simple task. To add onto our bafflement, they didn't even refer to another place that does do ears until my mother asked for it. And when they did, it was a generic sounding office and not even the NAME of the doctor they were referring! Like, they don't even know who they're sending us to??? No, thank you. We ended up going somewhere else for my ears. But now we're really trying to research other places and switch my primary physician because this place just became god awful and it sucks because my entire family's been going here for over 20 years. Btw their decorations are also bland. It used to be painted with Disney characters and full of life. Really kills the nostalgia for me. I am so disappointed with this place, I had to write Dr. Rodolfo Uy a letter (see below): Dear Dr. Uy, My children have been seen at Wakefield Medical for the past 18 years. You were and will always be considered one of the best pediatrician I have ever encountered. This is why it saddens me to tell you that your practice you left behind has fallen from grace. The front desk team are completely unprofessional, scheduling an appointment has become a nightmare, receiving a call back regarding lab results or other matters is disastrous and one of the newest pediatricians to have joined the team has absolutely no bedside manner. I am horrified at the state things are in and actually, am now, after almost 19 years, I am seeking an new pediatrician for my youngest child. This is NOT the legacy you wrought. I know that... many of your other patients know that, but if you reach out to many others, they will share with you similar experiences. (I know for a fact that many other people have chosen to take their children elsewhere). Again, you will always be esteemed highly by myself and my children as always delivering quality medical care with a smile... but after Friday, September 15, 2017, Wakefield Medical is no longer the place we will utilize for our needs. I am a patient for 23 years. I called today 3 times and once yesterday for a new referral. I am put on hold, asked for my information and no one gets back on the phone. When I do call back all they say is yes we will email it to you. I miss Dr. Oui and his staff. The doctors are good but the staff is so incompetent. You barely see any patients anymore in the waiting room. My niece was delivered by Dr. Oui and my son and was a patient for 24 years. I can't deal with a staff that doesn't care for their patients. It is time for me to find new doctors and staff members that are professionals. read more

DO NOT ENTRUST THIS FACILITY WITH YOUR HEALTH CARE. In November 2022 I was diagnosed with Covid 19. In which I was instructed to call my primary doctor if my symptoms worsened. Due to my underlying issues & my symptoms becoming worse I did just that. I called & was placed on hold while they checked my chart. I was then informed that they did not have a telemed appointment for the next 2 weeks.. Covid almost killed me due to their negligence.. Today 1/9/23 was finally my in person visit at 2:15. I got there at exactly 2:15 pm. I check in with the front desk. Was told to have a seat. At 2:25 pm I asked if they would need urine because I needed to use the restroom (was told no). Once I finished at 2:29 pm I sat back down. At 3:00 pm I went to ask if there was a charger as my phone was dying & overheard my name once I approached the desk. They all said they didn't have an android charger..As I was about to go sit back down I turned to them & asked them what the conversation was about. They said that the doctor called me while I was in the rest room@ 2:25 pm & that he had an emergency & had to leave. They all were aware that I went to the bathroom but waited until I approached the subject to say anything to me. The worse part is the non communication & placing my health in the hands of people who could care less about my health. This would never happen if I was a middle aged Caucasian person in a midtown office. This is sooooo heartbreakingly SAD. read more

Absolutely disgusting, they should be shut down. Their staff is extremely unprofessional and ignore you when you request anything. It took them 15 minutes to print out 2 sheets of paper after ignoring our presence first. Were they sitting and twiddling their thumbs??? Not to mention that having a physical took over 4 hours because of their obscene wait times. They are also very incompetent. We asked one of the staff for a flu shot twice and tried to send us out without having it done. So we had to ask AGAIN. They also do not know how to properly measure height as well as vision testing. They are also very snobby when you ask them how much longer you have to wait. Anyone who goes here often winds up spending an entire day there, it's such a disgrace. I came in 10 minutes prior to my appointment and got seen an hour later. I did a regular physical they emailed me (not call) emailed me stating that I needed to come in to discuss my lab results.... immediately I was worried. "Do I have diabetes?" the list goes on and on. So I came in again and this time I was 10 minutes late. However, I did not see the doctor FOR TWO HOURS. They kept moving me back and forth to rooms finally when I threaten to leave the receptionist got the doctor. It was just to tell me that I was low on Vitamin D. OMG really???!!!!! I asked about another health concern that I have and he said "Since you work at the hospital you can get in touch with a doctor there." So I'm like You had me wait two whole hours for that? The seats are broken they take a picture of you when you come in...need I say more. DON'T go there. read more

Been waiting on rode the doctor to send my medication for three weeks , everytime I call it's to remind them about my medication. Worst service I EVER dealt with . The pediatrician doctor is a racist and always in a rush and dr.boris gives off creepy and unprofessional vibes . This place horrendous. Please avoid at all costs if you want good health, especially as a minority person. I asked for a blood test and the nurse got an attitude and proceeded to berate me while I was getting my blood pressure taken just because I asked her about getting tests, which they haven't given me since the previous medical staff sadly left. I ask for tests because one of the doctors prescribes medicine without conducting them first, which is unethical and downright dangerous. I'm definitely changing from this PCP because I am not getting the treatment that is needed from this staff, and as a person of color, who knows about the treatment of minorities in this country in medical care, it's not worth the risk. In addition, as you've seen below, there really is no toilet paper or soap in the restrooms. Also, anti-mask people are not told to leave, risking the health of other people in the office. They over book appointments and make you wait even if you arrive on your scheduled time. Very unorganized and since they have plenty of patients don't seem to care. There answer for everything is please have a seat. Waited a hour and half just to be called and registered when I arrived early for my appointment. The reason they gave me was I was on lunch, this office is the pits. Bathroom had no soap or paper towels for a doctors office unexceptionable. The "New management" has caused 2-3 hour wait time and only to see a doctor that is so not "personable" or " kid friendly" .. After 10 years of having Wakefid Medical Professions take care of my daughter today I made the decission to sever the ties. When we started out here years ago it was more presonal. Dr Uy and Dr Chang took a true intrest in the well being of their patients and familes, now it seems this practice has evolved into an automated system where they cram as many patients thay can into a day and roll them in and out with no real concern for quality patient care or satisfaction especially since Dr Uy has retired. My frustration began when I was mislead to belive a service would have been provided only to have my child ans husband turned away upon arrival. After numerous calls and voice messsges which went unanswered I sent an email in desperstion to Dr Uy who stepped in and rectified this situation, part of which entailed me taking my daughter in today. Ok so the appiontment was set for 2pm, we arrived and checked in at 2:15pm, at 3:30pm we were still sitting in the waiting area, no vitals done nothing just waiting. 3:45pm they called us in the back, vitals were done , specimens taken and we sat in the exam room another 30 mins waiting for the doctor. In comes the doctor, barely said hello. "Good evening," I said to which she barely replied. She read over the notes attacted to my daughters chart then asked "what is it you need from me, I see they already took the blood?" I explained I would like to discuss starting my daughter on birth control as she is about to go away to college, she said said to me in a very rude tone "do you know that will not stop her from getting an STD, I never heard of all this before I came here, Dr Chang does this , he gives it to them but I never did?" at this point my daughter looked at me and squeezed my hand because I was about to go off. Fisrt of all its not about what you believe,you are a medical professional. Secondly I said I wanted to discuss the possibiliy. Thirdly I'm a nurse so I do know what the different types of birth control methods are , how they work but as a doctor it is a part of your job to educate your patients on medications and/or procedures. She never went over what options were available to my daughter based on her medical history, as far as the method I told her I had in mind, she never inquired as to why we choose that one, how my daughter felt about the whole thing and she only mentioned 1 side effect. She had no bedside mannerisms or patient interaction skills whatsoever. My overall impression was she just could not be bothered, I am not sure if it was because of her belief/issue with the birth control, or maybe she was just tired. I stopped by the front desk on my way out, requested my daughters medical records and cancelled her upcoming appointments. This ised to be a place where I had reffered numerous people to over the years without hesitation. It saddens me to see how much it has changed over the years. Today I had this doctor talk to me as if I was stupid in front of my child and had to exersise every ounce of restrain not to go down to her level of stupidity. I was thought to never assume anything about anyone and in my nursing career I have found this to be true. I am now seeking a new physican for my daughter, one that places emphasis on quality patient care, not on how many they can rotate in and out of their doors daily. read more

Been coming here for yrs. (when i was a kid n now for my daughter) they're great. The only complaint I have is the long wait (approx 30-60 min) even when I have an appt. so now I just walk-in n get seen the same length of wait time. I've been coming here since I was a newborn with my mother and the wait time is ridiculous. They never answer the phone so it doesn't matter how far you're coming from you're better off as a walk in. Worst doctor office!!!! 3 hours wait to see the doctor! Staff especially who works on Thursday, Michelle is awful!!! I called a head to check if they are busy since my husband needs to go to work and I want to make sure both my kids see the doctor before. They told me it is not busy but the office it was full with patients After waiting an hour and half they told me there are 2 people a head of me and it will be soon to see the doctor. After 30 min I checked with them they told me they are working on my kids chart now and 1 person a head of me. But 30 min later, when I check with other person, she told me she can not find my chart on waiting. After look through all the charts, it was under different doctor. I ask how it happen and they told me I am walk-in so I need to wait with very bad attitude and tone. I am not mad because I had to wait! If there will be long wait why they lie to me in the first place! If they told me honestly I am sure I will figure something else but waiting 3 hours to see the doctor!!!
