    khao soi for breakfast!
    Aitana B.

I am and have always been team SAVORY food for breakfast. While I love pancakes and waffles, my heart holds a special place for any meal highlighting meats and eggs. I now holdWakie Wakie's in my highest regards for offering a delicious kha soi for breakfast. Here are more reasons you need to come to Wakie Wakie's: 1. Cozy space! I walked in and felt at home. There are all kinds of tables and chairs, many with little pillow for your back. I found a great spot by the window, and I loved their unique space. 2. Menu with options for everyone. I might be the only one clamoring for savory breakfast. This menu has tons of options. They have breakfast smoothie bowls, egg and rice meals, toasts, and may coffee options. 3. Kind staff. Everyone there was so sweet and helped me narrow down some options on the menu. I loved this place and I'm already looking forward to the next time I'm in Westbrook so I can come back

Highly recommend eating here or getting to go. Charming spot with charming artwork (on the menus and some around the cafe) and absolutely delicious food. I love a well-executed fusion spot and this hit all my cravings. Both the fried rice and sweet siam melt were savory and the flavors balanced very well. My issue with fried rice in general is that it's sometimes too oily--this didn't have that problem at all. The teas were perfect to start our morning with. Overall value was a great plus, too. Service was super friendly and prompt on a Sunday morning. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. I'm sad this isn't nearby at all to me because I would've definitely made this my go-to spot if I were a local!

Wakie Wakie's is phenomenal! We were thrilled to learn that Chanya and her friends from Thai With Us in Augusta had branched out to open their own Thai bruncherie, and today we finally got to stop in. The menu is outstanding -- a vibrant mix of classic brunch favorites infused with bold, lively Thai flavors that make every dish feel fresh and unexpected. Service was warm, quick, and full of the signature Chanya energy we've always loved. The space itself is charming and inviting, blending cozy Thai touches with an eclectic coffee‑shop vibe that makes you want to linger long after your meal. If you're anywhere nearby, this place deserves a spot at the top of your brunch list. We ordered the sunrise smoothie and açaí bowl - both amazingly delicious.

Loved this cute shop. It had recently opened when I went and they were amazing. Hard working team. The Thai milk tea was delicious. I had a latte. And I had a pork breakfast sandwich that was so good. Cheesy, interesting texture to the pork, it was so unique. Service was super friendly. I highly recommend! Parking is on the street but I had no problem.

The hype is real! Wakie Wakie's is the best thing to come to Westbrook since I rolled into town (haha jk). Really though - the unique menu offerings... The quality of the ingredients... The friendliest people ever... It just makes for an awesome experience every single time. Like many people that try Wakie Wakie's for the first time, I've been here 3 times in one week, because I'm addicted and I also want to try every single thing on the menu. I can attest that their cold brew coffee is EXCELLENT and their Thai iced tea is equally delicious - sweet, creamy, perfect. As far as food - I've tried a few things and they've all been delicious. The Kai Kra Ta is one of the most unique breakfast offerings I've ever had. Ground chicken, pork sausage, over easy eggs, fried shallots, served with sourdough toast, all wonderfully seasoned and oh so addictive. There was also shredded dried pork on the plate which I've never had... Hard to describe the texture but almost like savory cotton candy? That's a bad description but all you need to know is that it's super tasty and fun to eat! We also tried the crab omelet which was fantastic and full of crabby goodness. My personal favorite has been the Piggy Meets Apple, which is a sweet/savory sando that has all the fixings of a go-to comfort dish. The place has been renovated and looks beautiful, warm, and inviting on the inside. You order at the counter and pick a spot (a little bit of outdoor seating is available as well.) The staff has always been so friendly and helpful during each visit. The price is appropriate for the quality of the meal! I love this new staple in Westbrook and can't wait to come back to try everything on their fun and unique menu!

Such a cute little Thai fusion breakfast spot! The vibe was comfy and cute, very light and has a sweet aesthetic. The service at the counter was quick and easy, and she made some great suggestions. And the FOOD. I will be coming back to try everything, but the Jungle Acai bowl has me in a chokehold. It is HUGE and worth every penny, absolutely phenomenal. The crispy potato appetizer was yummy, and the garlicky basil cream sauce was sooo delicious. The Kai Kra Ta was yummy as well, and my husband seemed to like it a lot. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Just great. The kitchen is an inspired mix of breakfast and brunch with great flavors and choices of small fusions. From smoothies to good iced coffee mixes they have a lot to choose from and are a likely rising gem for any breakfast. Even some of the cold drinks can be modified into hot versions for a choice to keep a rainy day warmer. If lucky take a spot by the window and enjoy the coffee table books; or take your drinks to go after eating and walk the park across the street. Don't be shocked if you come into a fully filled seating in this cozy spot, that's a good sign. As they continue to grow I can see it getting even better. The expansion of their espresso bar will help the already strong kitchen keep everyone coming back.

A new spot in Westbrook Maine that I have already frequented about seven times since they opened, because I really want to try just about everything on the menu. While they do make excellent smoothies, it is not the smoothies that call me back over and over again, but the food. Last time, I ordered an omelet off the brunch menu that was the fluffiest egg and crab over the softest jasmine rice and it was so so good!

One of my new favorite breakfast spots! It's tucked right across from a park, which makes it feel a little more peaceful than some of the busier spots off the main strip in Westbrook. They've got outdoor seating, but the real charm is inside, a curated space full of cozy furniture and artwork that gives it a super homey feel. The staff was also amazing and helped me narrow down what to order (which wasn't easy, everything on the menu looked so good). I ended up going with two of their smoothie bowls, a toast, and their matcha latte. The smoothie bowls were *loaded* with toppings and had the perfect thick consistency. The whipped ricotta toast? A dreamy balance of richness and freshness, and they don't skimp on the berries, so it's actually really satisfying for breakfast. And the matcha... I was obsessed. It wasn't watered down at all and had that deep, earthy matcha flavor I love. I added a pump of vanilla for a little sweetness and it was perfect. P.S. They also serve soups, and the ones I saw coming out to other tables smelled amazing.

WOW! A Must Try! Impressive egg breakfast made with Asian fusion flavors. Certainly not your average Southern Maine food stop. Friendly service by the owners, welcoming atmosphere to sit, relax, and enjoy the playful and satisfying medley of flavors. This is not the type of restaurant typically found outside of a foody town. If you don't live in Westbrook, it's worth a good drive to get to Wakey Wakey.

Excellent fusion options of asiany/breakfasty/brunchie goodness. Wonton soup was outstanding with a. Delicious broth. Curry noodles were very flavorful and the crab omelette was out of site! Could have used a bit more flavor(maybe a sauce) but not enough to ding the score. 5 stars for sure and we will be back! Cute atmosphere too!

We ordered Crab Out Loud, Avocado Toast, Chives Dumplings, Caramel Presso, Açaí Bowl, Thai Iced Tea and a Vanilla Latte. It was all delicious and presented beautifully. We will be back as soon as possible. Charming location. Excellent service. Park across the street for al fresco dining. So proud of this local business.

A brand new spot to open in Westbrook right across from the Riverfront Park so plenty of parking available nearby. This place was brought to my attention through social media last weekend from another local business giving them a shout out and support, that being fellow Westbrook spot Blazes Burgers. Great example of local supporting local! We showed up today (Saturday) at the perfect time before a large rush of people came in. The worker taking orders and bringing food/drink to people greeted us with a smile and offered a menu. The space is small, but despite that is inviting, comfy, and cute. With each chair appearing to be unique it brings about a homey feel which was a great touch. Also when weather allows it also has outdoor patio with seating too so enjoy a drink and food with views of the park. Drink wise they had coffee, teas, matcha, and smoothies. My wife liked their Matcha Honey Lemon (reminds us of a matcha lemon seltzer) and I really enjoyed the Thai Milk Tea! Very excited to have another close option to grab a delicious Thai Milk Tea. Food wise they really have a unique menu of offerings compared to anything else nearby. Breakfast and brunch items, to smoothies/açaí bowls, salads, and soups! Enough options to make you revisit again and again to try it all! Which I have to say for our first visit my wife and I loved our choices of meal! I got their Piggy Meets Apple that was an amazing sourdough sandwich. The bacon paired with the apple, fig jam and other toppings so well. Not the typical breakfast sandwich I would think of but I'd gladly have it any breakfast again. My wife got their Wakie Omlet minus the mushrooms and it came out with the filling beautifully weaved through the eggs. My wife and I agreed it was one of the most aesthetically pleasing looking omelets we have had! Taste was just as good as it looked! Based on this first visit, my wife and I look forward to returning and making this a new favorite of ours!

My daughter loves the Açaí Nutella bowl...she gets it very time...and I don't blame her...it is so good! I however like to try something new. This time I tried a half & half. You can get two different smoothie bases in one bowl and select any bowl topping. I tried the Nutella Bowl with half mango and half Açaí. It was so delicious! I enjoyed this so much because of the multiple flavors, and textures. The fresh fruit, the crunchy granola, and the sweet Nutella are the perfect dessert! Both the açaí and mango bases are sweet, which I love, but I could imagine pairing a less sweet base, like the banana, with a more sweet base like mango. I'll have to try that next time. Also just have to say that the bowls/toppings are exactly as shown on their website/in app...it is really amazing how the photo and the real thing match exactly. Very impressive quality control! They do have a loyalty program...which I just signed up for today (probably should have done this sooner), and a mobile app for mobile ordering. I only gone there in the evening and it has not been busy so our order was ready really fast every time, but I could see using the mobile ordering during busier times.

I want it so thick that it's only very nearly impossible to suck up through a straw. Also, it can't taste only like bananas. And finally, it can't have chunks. So, so many places in Greater Portland just don't have what I'm personally looking for (creamy, flavorful, and thiiiiiiiiiiick)... but Playa Bowls does. Listen, I know they're a chain, and I know they're way too trendy for someone like me, but the smoothies are done right here. I've tried a couple: 1. Orange Power (orange, pineapple, coconut milk, sub their usual protein powder for the vanilla plant protein powder instead): It's like a creamsicle from when you were a kid! I would really like to try other smoothies, but this just keeps being my go to. Sure, it can be a little gritty from the protein powder, so if that's not something you're used to heads-up. I am, so it's barely noticeable. The 90's called and they want their summer back, and I'm here for it! 2. The Dang (banana, wheat grass powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, almond milk): I wouldn't usually order something like this, but it was so much better than I was expecting. Rich, earthy while still being subtly sweet, and really hearty for a smoothie if that makes sense. Absolutely would reorder! I think the two biggest challenges/negatives here are that a) the music can be overwhelmingly loud (if you get sensory overload, prepare yourself) and b) the wait times can be loooonnnnnnnnng. I've seen some people on other Playa Bowl listings across the country complain about the price, but here in the 207 some of you are paying $10 for two bites of an overpriced hand roll. I'd much rather pay $9 (16 ounce) to $11 (20 ounce) for a filling smoothie. And they're currently open 8am to 8pm. Where else can you get a smoothie past 4pm in Maine? Go ahead, I'll wait. #WelcomeToPineappleLand

That's what we did and had zero complaints and even substitutions or any allergies needed to be mentioned is super simple. Loved how easy it was for customization so you can get exactly what you want. We walked into the store and both workers were extremely friendly and welcoming and along with that service both our bowls and the bag had notes from the workers too. While simple little messages to us they were that added little touch that makes customer service great.
