I am blown away when my toddlers come home and know not just their colors but their colors in English and spanish, or when they learn all about the food pyramid and healthy nutrition, or how to paint laying down like Michelangelo, or all of the fun things they learn through their "science experiments".... I could obviously go on and on. This school focuses on letting kids be kids and loving them for who they are. If you care about your child having a well rounded PreK experience that is family oriented, communicative, caring, trustworthy and truly cares about community this is hands down your best option in Lyndhurst...we tried other schools and looked at other options and I feel so blessed that this is where we ended up. We are first-time parents and we were a little nervous at first about leaving our daughter in a daycare, but we quickly realized that it is the best place that she could be. The kids learn so much from being in a group environment and from all the activities that the teachers offer. There are weekly activities such as piano class, yoga (cute!), dance, painting, crafts, and baby signs, making the days full of learning and exploration. And there is delicious, organic home-cooked food as well. Overall a great place!

This is clearly how he is being taught and it's amazing. The communication with the staff is amazing can be done via all means ie- app, phone, email. The 1st issue was extremely poor communication. The teachers in the youngest group didn't speak English and it was difficult to communicate without a translator. Small babies can't communicate their own needs, so a parent should be able to. When I brought this up with management, they said the lead teacher did speak English - yeah, maybe 10 words. The poor communication goes beyond language. At the start I explained I was a young widow, my husband passed a few months prior, and expected them to communicate this to the teachers so they could be sensitive. It was obvious this did not happen. None the less, the teachers were kind and caring, so I stayed. But the disappointment continued. My daughter came home with BLEACH stains on her clothing on THREE separate occasions. I brought this up to management and was assured it would be addressed, it was not. I understand the need to use bleach to clean, but small children should not be around toxic chemicals! Clean when they are not around! This was troubling as my daughter is a thumb sucker and could have got bleach in her mouth. The 1st summer I sent her to school in sandals the whole summer with no issue. The children have to keep their shoes on all day, including nap time. My daughter came home with sweaty and smelly feet. When summer came, I knew it would be uncomfortable for her to be in closed toes shoes all day. I made sure to get sturdy sandals with a thick bottom and adequate edging to protect her feet. Mid-summer, the sandals were suddenly a liability issue (but bleach isn't?!). They are so hyper focused on rules, they've lost the warm human touch they once had. I got a call from the office manager, I explained my concerns and told her that if shoes could be removed during nap time, I would send her in closed shoes. She said she would look into it and let me know. Then Sandy herself called me. I found her to be extremely rude from the gecko. She spoke over me and had no empathy for the concerns I was expressing. It was clear that she wasn't interested in the human perspective, this is just a business to her. At this point I felt frustrated and unheard. I finally made the decision to remove my daughter and emailed them she would not be returning after the year end. I received no response, they didn't seem to care. On the last day the teacher gave my daughter a lovely goodbye package, it was nice to finally see some care from someone there. I emailed about my security deposit and got no response. A week or so later, I emailed again. Today Sandy called me and once again tried to bulldoze her way through the conversation. The financial agreement says we have to give 45 day notice. (Standard notice for a job is less than that, are you kidding me?) I explained that I didn't have 45 days because the school year ended. Had I come to this decision during the year, I would have obliged but what was I supposed to do? Again, she spoke over me and had zero empathy, she really did not care about my situation. This time I spoke to her the way she spoke to me, which is uncharacteristic of me, but I was tired of the bullying. They expect parents to keep to the 45 day notice when they don't keep to their end of the deal - ex since the pandemic, they're only open until 6 (apparently you can only catch COVID19 between 6 and 6:30pm), among other things. So, I am leaving with a bitter taste, my experience at Sandy's was disappointing from the start, and I wish I had left earlier instead of trying to give them more chances. I've never been one to write reviews online, but I felt like I had to this time. Ps. Due to character limit I could only share some of the many issues.

Jill, Gabby, all the teachers and staff are amazing people running the facility. So friendly and flexible, understanding the needs of the kids and the parents. The location is excellent for NYC commuters, as the 166X bus stop is couple minutes walk away. They are also very generous allowing parents to park their cars in the parking lot for the whole day. The TLE app is a convenient way of staying up to date with daily activities, updates, billing and communication from teacher. Photos of kids daily activities are posted every on the app. TLE has great curriculum to teach kids letters, numbers, colors, shapes, vocabulary. Our daughter was so much ahead and academically prepared for K, thanks to TLE. For different age groups they also have special events like field trips for Pre K and K students, water activities during summer. I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for daycare facility.

If you show up or call before opening she will give you an attitude because it cuts into her coffee and chain-smoking newports on the side of the building before the kids come in. They give children tap water, don't heat up their food, don't give babies their bottles. They actually let the bottles sit out for hours on end. I cannot say enough bad things about this facility. For starters we were only putting our son in daycare a few days out of the week to allow him to socialize and open up more with kids his age. We decided to choose Little Kingdom over other daycares because of many reasons. We liked the fact that this school was not too big. The child to teachers ratio is perfect, there is more one on one attention given to our child because the classrooms were not overcrowded with kids. The hours worked between my husband and I's schedules which is perfect. The staff is very friendly and feels like a big family. Another big plus for my husband and I when we toured the school, we meet with Danielle the owners daughter she is sweetheart and you could tell this school focused more about the child not quantity of kids they were able to enroll. The price is great plus other daycares will hold you responsible for paying for days if your child happens to be sick where as the owner doesn't charge you in this case. This is by far the best decision my husband and I have made for our son. When he first started school he took some time to adjust but the teachers and staff made you feel comfortable to come by, call or even send pictures to help you ease your mind. We can clearly see the change of when he started school to now. He is learning so much and the arts and crafts is a bonus to see what they do in school. So i would highly recommend this daycare over others if you want to focus on your child.
