They were very busy (clearly a popular local place) and managed to find a small table at the bar that worked well for my table of one. The garlic bread was simple but effective with nice tomato slice, shredded red cabbage and parsley sprinkled around - it tasted better than it sounds. The I went for a mushroom schnitzel. Wow. Fresh salad greens on the side (spring mix for those of us from the US), and beautifully cooked schnitzel with a wonderful mushroom cream sauce made this a wonderful dish. The fries were quite good too, but the schnitzel filled me up so I didn't have space to finish the meal (it was large). Nor did I have space for dessert. For a casual meal with a cold beer or whatever, this was a fun place to eat at. And the staff went out of their way to help this non-German speaking guest.

The waitress was cheerful, kind and welcoming. The kitchen offered me a free sample of a special creamy spread that was so yummy to go with the warm bread, as my appetizer. The schnitzel with pepper sauce I ordered was mouthwatering -- fresh, tender and crunchy with scrumptious sauce! The salad was also delicious and fresh with home made dressing. I had the best experience, needless to say, which makes me want to go back again. I surely would like to take my family and friends here and I would highly recommend it to the general public. On my 2 days, 3 nights stay, the restaurant was really good! Had the pictured rack of lamb for dinner on night 2 and it was quite tender, juicy and Delish! The great cooking here is Probably because they're Croats. Will eat here again on my future business trip to Stolberg, Germany!
