On a really basic note, the parking in this location is terrible. It's a lovely & convent shopping center but when they were planning it they did not consider the popularity and getting parking anywhere here is like competing in the hunger games. Very unpleasant every time right away. At the time of writing this review I have been to this location three separate times. The first time was for an in-store pick up. It took 3 employees 20 mins to locate my order. This supposed to be a quick and easy process. It was neither and they are clearly very disorganized here. The second two visits were to clear up a customer service incident I had been experiencing. Prior to physically visiting the store, I had spoken both over the phone and via email with multiple customer service reps including having my issue elevated with tech support. I was told part of the issue I was experiencing needed to be handed in store. So I went to the store. They refused to do anything and just repeatedly told me I need to call customer service to deal with it. So I left and called customer service again who reiterated that that particular portion needed to be handed at the store level. So I went back. This time with an email with instructions to show the store employees so that they couldn't not brush me off again and tell me contact customer service. They once again refused to follow their own company policies and told me to contact customer service...ma'am you are holding an email from customer service telling you to take care of the issue in store. So I will not return to this location unless it is to do a return. I don't want to support their sales success with my business but happy to do my part to work in its opposition with any return.

We had no intention of shopping fragance but Val just made us feel so welcomed and relaxed, asked for our input and opinions, like she really wanted to get to know us. She even went above and beyond to look for a certain fragrance size even though her coworker said she already stocked up and she ended up finding it! Excellent customer service! She even sorted out so many gifts with purchase to select the one that contended our hearts lol. She was just amazing and pleasant to be with. Honestly, that's the first time I ever felt like that at a JC Penny.

Instead of handling the situation professionally, she became angry, started yelling, and repeatedly banged on the machine. She then stopped helping us, leaving the manager to step in and resolve the issue. The machine had already taken our $17 gift card when it crashed. Although we eventually received a replacement gift card, the process took far longer than it should have. It was a simple issue that became unnecessarily frustrating because of the poor customer service and lack of urgency. We also felt that we were treated differently because of our race, which made the experience even more upsetting. Overall, Marilyn's behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. I expect better customer service from JCPenney, and I hope management addresses this so other customers are treated with the respect they deserve.
