If I could give less than one star, I would. I scheduled immunizations here last week. I called to confirm the appointment the day before and they assured me, yes, my appointment was still scheduled. Then, the morning of the immunization, I drove there and waited in line to be told that no, there were no vaccines left ('23 Flu Shot.) If you have to make an appointment and confirm, and they can't even count how many vaccines they still have and hold on to them overnight, then they must be pretty bad at their jobs. I was picking up prescriptions from their Pharmacy when I came upon a customer who was very upset. She had been the victim of racial profiling and had a store employee scrutinizing her while she was trying to decide on which item she needed to purchase. We tried to find the store employee to confront her, but instead, a store manager came out to meet us. He refused to acknowledge she was being profiled and was not at all sympathetic. I was going to purchase some things besides my prescriptions, but I told them I'd be boycotting their store and leaving a review on Yelp. Very disappointed with the initial profiling and the way the manager handled the situation. The women left her items and said she would not be giving them her business in the future. I'd change my rating to no stars if it were possible. They already are down to one star. Do better Walgreens! read more

Changes were made to the handicap parking area which is now a tripping hazard Going here for well over 20 years - just like many business post covid - can't get enough people to staff properly - it's been a bit crazy and the reduced hours and closed for lunch doesn't help the customer Also looks like shelves are not stocked but that's what the daily looting makes a store look like - it's happening all over It's sad and frustrating. My review is mainly for the pharmacy. Last I went in person they seemed really understaffed for the type of volume they get at this store. In addition my call ins keep getting hung up on. Its very frustrating. I have officially requested a change in pharmacy due to my poor experience. The staff there in itself are friendly as a company I dont think they are getting the appropiate support in staffing a call centers. This location is terrible. The pharmacy is poorly managed, they always seem to have trouble ordering the most commonplace prescriptions, they staff seems annoyed that they have to work and seem underprepared to field questions from customers and explain nuanced benefits issues to customers that have trouble navigating the complexities of the broken US healthcare system. Also, their drive thru window is always closed....probably because they can't find anyone to work in this dump. Get this, they CLOSE the entire pharmacy so the pharmacist can have lunch and are now closed on weekends! I was told they only have one pharmacist who has to be onsite in order for the pharmacy to be open. Given that Walgreens Pharmacy profits are 60% of their total business and the CEO makes close to 30 MILLION per year, you'd think they could manage to hire additional pharmacists so the business could stay open during normal hours and service the customers who keep them in business. Lastly, there are seemingly endless options to get your prescriptions so why would you support a business who clearly does not value their customers or their employees? 3 months age I went to pick up several prescription medications and was told the pharmacy was closed. No one could tell me if I would be able to get my medicine or when the pharmacy would reopen. They said I needed to contact my prescriber for new prescriptions. 3 different doctors, I changed to this Walgreens on San Pablo Dam Rd. and received my meds. Now 3 months later, ordered 2 more 3 month supplies and one was filled and the other was cancelled after I received a phone call from a rather rude person telling me they would not supply my meds because I wasn't their patient. I'm locked into Walgreens because of my choice of plan D which Walgreens is the preferred provider. I cannot change it until next year. Changed back to my original on San Pablo Ave. but they haven't stocked my meds since I had changed locations. Some proper communication would have been nice. read more

I recently went back to pick up a prescription for my son. Still nothing has improved and service still sucks. The clerk told me that the prescription is not updated in the system rather then not in the system as before. He asked if I had the prescription from the doctor? I told him I don't, but I can get the after visit report and come back. I returned 10 minutes later with the report, This time he told me that it was not available, and to call my doctor, and come back later. I left the store without my medicine wasting my time running around for nothing. If that clerk thinks he fooled me, that he gave me the run around, he's got another thing coming. No more traveling, waiting endlessly only to be told I'd have to return or be treated rudely by incompetent staff. Got automated phone call on 9th, thought it was because meds were ready. Go in on 10th for pick up but pharmacists said not ready til 12th. Apparently if you get a call from man it's to tell you about your meds. If female it's to say meds are ready for pick up. So finally go for pick up on 12th but guess what?! Walgreens pharmacy is understaffed and it is not their fault they are understaffed nowadays. We are going through a massive tech/pharmacy shortage and I feel like people tend to forget that. They are humans to and are trying their absolute best they get yelled at 24/7 in store/drive thru . Super under appreciated. It is not always going to be peaches and cream. I know that it gets discouraging being yelled at 24/7. It's also frustrating for everybody especially THEM. They prioritize people IN STORE FIRST ALL WHILE TRYING TO GET TO FOLKS IN DRIVE THRU. Pharmacy staff are awesome! My first time getting my prescriptions filled here in the Bay. My PCP called in my prescriptions. Only thing that they needed was my insurance information. I must have called them 5-6 times before I finally had all the information they needed to process my prescriptions. Thank goodness I had my insurance packet with me because other wise I would've had to pay over 2k! Very happy that the pharmacists and/or pharmacy tech were patient with me. Best customer service! Would give zero stars if I could : this is for the pharmacy. I had a massive transplant surgery In February and have been in recovery ever since. The healing time frame for this surgery is a year. Since I've been in recovery I've been having to take hydromorphone, after being on it for so long I still have to continue to take it because it isn't safe to just come to a complete stop because I'll experience withdrawal. I'm slowly being tapered off, but there is a specific staff member on the pharmacy team that ALWAYS gives me a hard time about my medication and is ALWAYS in my business questioning why I picked it up elsewhere and more than that. Clearly I picked it up elsewhere because they didn't have it in stock. She treats me as if I'm a drug seeking addict, which is not my case. I'm a very sick person and wish she'd treat me just like any other sick person picking up their medication. It's the tall skinny white lady (she's the only one that fits that description there.. On top of that they are super understaffed to the point where they don't have the common decency to say "please hold" when they pick up the phone, they'll just continue to pick up the phone and put you back on hold until they feel like helping you. I will say Jessica is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. So the star goes to her. read more

I stopped here today to pick up something for Alan, who's currently in a skilled nursing facility nearby after developing weakness and mobility problems w/ a cold, which morphed into RSV. He's much improved and hopes to be back home soon. In the meantime, we're visiting and bringing him food and other necessities. The staff at this store were friendly and accommodating and I had a lovely conversation w/ another customer while I was waiting for the customer service representative to come answer a question. A friend's daughter was getting a prescription filled and doing some shopping at Walgreens recently and she happened to turn down an aisle where a male and a female were shoplifting. They saw her and started yelling and calling her names and they then rushed at her and jumped her. The male had her on the ground trying to choke her she tried to fight back but 2 against 1 aren't good odds. It wasn't til a homeless man yelled and then they stopped and ran out...No one in the store tried to help not even store personnel.....and on top of it all their cameras don't work......sad you can't even go to the store and feel safe while shopping or picking up a prescription...Always be alert cause no one is going to help you! This is not the first time this WG pharmacy make mistakes giving wrong medications to us. On top of being really busy, long lines, long waiting time all the time, they are NOT thorough and pay attention to details.
