At the Corner of Happiness and The Great Outdoors: I have been struggling whether or not to rate the Anthem Highlands Walgreens three or four stars. It is a reviewing situation where the location plays a significant role in the rating. This Walgreens is located in a part of the Las Vegas valley that makes me feel more like I am in a secluded area of Utah than a big city like metropolitan Las Vegas. It is up on the hills in a picturesque area where the grand open spaces of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area are closer than the nearest shopping center. The Albertson's-anchored shopping center is 2.3 miles (48- minute walk) and Anthem Von's-anchored shopping center is 2.3 miles (48-minutes) away. The upshot is that this Walgreen's serves as a convenience store in an area that I would consider a food desert without it. Especially for residents who have zero means to a vehicle. It features a pharmacy, photo center, and aisles of toiletries and several necessities. The Anthem Highlands Walgreens is 1.4 miles and a 26 minute walk to both the Black Mountain and Anthem East Trail trailheads. In my situation it has been the corner of "Happiness and the Great Outdoors." When I engage on a long hike I develop a worry wart when I leave my car in an isolated parking lot. Well, this Walgreens had the prescription to remedy it: the perception of a safe parking lot. When I partook in my Black Mountain hike, I left my car in the ample parking lot. The stipulation was that I supported them with a purchase. I brought my hydration beverage here. Although their beverage selection and selection in general falls short of their larger stores in places such as the Strip, I greatly appreciated being able to buy it. Yes, Walgreen's is higher priced than the average supermarket, but in reality that hydration beverage would be worth Las Vegas Strip hotel prices. Fast forward, a few weeks ago I returned here between completing the Anthem East Trail hike and hiking down Anthem Highlands to Eastern at Horizon Ridge. When I walked to the beverage cooler to refresh with a cold Power Aid it felt like walking across the desert to a mirage. If this Walgreen's was nonexistent, I would feel as dead as the Mirage Resort having to walk 48 more minutes to Von's. Speaking of dead, on my last visit, there were very few customers and employees here. I had to wait for a few minutes at the register for the one cashier to finish helping a customer with a question. She appeared to be friendly which left me with a decent impression of their customer service. In conclusion I have an appreciation for the Anthem Highlands Walgreens. It is a vital retailer servicing the Anthem Highlands and outdoor recreation communities. If it were nonexistent people would have to drive approximately 2.5 miles to the nearest retailer and pedestrians would have to walk 48 minutes. On account of this, a retailer that I would normally rate three stars in a competitive area, I have increased to rating four stars. read more

Just be happy, just knowing that your "basic needs," can be found here at Walgreens. Walgreens is not just a pharmacy, it's that corner store, it's that place where we can buy those basic products in order to be happy. Don't worry, did you forget something important? Do you not feel like going to more than one store? Stop in here for all the needs you have. Are you well? Feeling under the weather, now stop in at the local clinic for a check up. Do you need your prescription filled? How about printing some photos from your phone to hang on the wall? It can all be done here. One trip, then your off to your happy place again. Browse and shop through the aisles. What time of year is it? It's going to be Easter here real soon. Don't put all your eggs in one basket because you might need two? All the Easter fun and special treats can be found here. Hop on in and get those treats to make those around you peep peep with happy. Do you need some help? All you have to do is ask for what needs you have? The staff here are highly qualified and trained professionals in the art of health. The staff can direct you to that aisle of the store where you will find what ever you need to be happy. As you usually wander throughout the store an employee will often ask you what you need before you even know it. Now that you can have all your needs met in one place it's just easier for you and yours to be in your happy place . read more

Walgreens - Easter bliss and hare hugs! - Drugstores Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

I've been using this pharmacy for 6 months and have finally had enough. Frequently I have to call a number of times to get my refill. One of my prescriptions is injected once a week and I have had to change my injection day 3 times because I can never get the medication when it's due. On another medication, when I called to have it refilled, the young man on the phone told me the medication couldn't be filled till I went in and signed a waiver stating that I wouldn't sell it in the streets. This was a diabetic medication. Recently I requested a refill and was told it would be ready in an hour. I wasn't able to pick it up till the next day and never received a notification that it was ready so I called to make sure it was ready but was again told it would be ready in an hour. I waited 2 hours and called again and again told it would be ready in an hour. I asked why I have been told 3 times that it would be ready in an hour and it still isn't. The worker on the phone cut me off and began to argue with me. I cussed at her and hung up. 2 hours later I received notification that the medication was ready. The clerk waiting on me took my medications to the woman who was arguing with me on the phone she gave me the side eye and shook her head yes. Then the one serving me rang me up, took my payment and afterwards verbally attacked me for cussing at the other one. She had no idea what had transpired, only going by her coworkers word and based on false information attacks a customer. And these are but a very few of the asinine encounters that I have had with this Walgreens. This particular Walgreens is full of unprofessional inappropriate idiots. In 6 months of doing business with them it has been one inappropriate encounter after another. I am done doing business with them. Walgreens is a big conglomerate and the customers are just a number and do t matter. I have made 2 formal complaints and no one ever gets back with me. I was next in line at the Walgreens pharmacy when a backup started forming because there was no notice that the staff was out to lunch. A group of us waited for quite a while with no updates or assistance. When I called the pharmacy to ask what was going on, the pharmacist was extremely rude and dismissive. I like this Walgreens a lot because it has ample parking, is in a nice neighborhood location, and has friendly staff. The pharmacy wait can be a little long, so plan for extra time whether in drive-thru or inside. If I need other beauty items or snacks, I can pick them up while shopping as well. They often have sales for rewards customers too. read more

Another absolutely terrible experience at this Walgreens. Last week I was yelled at by a staff member and today he yelled at me again. I waited over 30mins in line for my medication that they said they had ready last week but didn't. The man told me today it wasn't ready. Odd since they've called and emailed me to say it was. I said ok I'll wait. He started yelling at me to get out of the drive thru line. I guess I don't understand how I should have to wait for everyone else but when it's my turn I am not given the same service. And by service I just mean my medication. Had to go inside to wait and he was rude along with the rest of the staff. I told him I get they're busy but he can't talk to people this way. He was incredibly patronizing. Transferring all my medications to Amazon pharmacy. Why deal with idiots who are also jerks when I can deal with no one and get my medication delivered to my door for the same cost. I felt like all the staff in the store and at the pharmacy were very helpful. The staff at the pharmacy took their time to try to help me communicate the necessary paperwork with the doctor's office. The staff at the pharmacy are very busy and they are constantly moving. I think they should just have someone dedicated to answering their phone lines and giving out the medication. Some of the staff all look overwhelmed and new like they are learning the computer system. Overall, the store is clean and organized. I feel comfortable shopping there. read more

If I could give a minus 5 I would to the pharmacy. Second time in three months that they messed up my prescriptions. This time I received automated calls to let me know they were ready for pickup. After waiting 15+minutes in line, I was told I picked up my prescriptions on 12/27. Hmmm. I wasn't in town.. I asked how that could be and they acted like it was my problem. I said I needed by blood pressure pills and asked the girl (Destiny) "What if I had a stroke or heart attack " and she said I should go to the hospital!!!! What!!! That is no way to help a customer in need of prescribed medications. Now they admit it was a computer glitch!!! Very nice Walgreens. No one goes to a pharmacy to discuss how great they feel. It's understood. I hold "medical" to a standard that they can clearly see your medical situation (by way of Rx) & should be able to react accordingly. Example might be don't whisper if the customer is hearing challenged. I went in at EOB Friday to pick up an Rx my ACTUAL doctor called in 3/2AM. Energy behind the glass felt like I had walked in the middle of something. Hard to be sure since the level of engagement didn't rise to that of eye contact. I wasn't sure who was talking to me. Jada made it clear, however, as she proceeded to talk AT me about (my) medication in the 3rd person, as if I wasn't standing right there. She went on to TELL me why I couldn't pick up the meds (for myself?). She never once ASKED any questions. Based on her tone it's because she had all the answers. I've had this Rx at Walgreens for 9 months. The entire time it has been in a national shortage. Because of that smart doctors are having to be big thinkers. Out of 9 months there has been some issue five months. I've dealt with pharmacists at THIS location helping me resolve my personal crisis to the extent they are able, every time EXCEPT today where I was summarily dismissed with a lecture about medication I've been taking under ACTUAL doctor care longer than this person has been alive. Literally. The super kind cashier that rang up my purchase knew exactly why I asked for the name of the associate in the pharmacy. "she isn't very nice is she?" It's the one and only Rx I take and I will have NO PROBLEM calling my ACTUAL doctor to have my Rx moved to a more reliable pharmacy. read more

The first gentleman who greeted us at the pharmacy was good, but the pharmacist was at first brusk and, while walking away, told us to come back in a half hour. When we did, a young lady who was already busy on the computer a few feet from the desk, said that we would have to wait for one perscription as it was in the fulfillment center. She was hard to understand from a distance, and I had to raise my voice to be heard as well. I asked why someone had told me I could pick up the Rx sooner and a long, fast, explanation followed which frankly I didn't understand. They called me in about five minutes and gave me all three Rx's. What was at the fulfillment center? What happened? The young lady tried to be nice, but she could work on listening skills instead of a friendly voice, rapid delivery, and a big smile. The pharmacist was nicer the second time. But why not from the start? CVS is right down the hill. We'll go there next time. read more

I'm in agreement with the comments made about the pharmacy staff, particularly the Post Covid/remodel staff hired. This new pharmacy team is extremely rude and acts inconvenienced with anyone who calls and inquires about their RX. There is no excuse to be so rude. I loved to come here before because the staff was so very kind, but now the reaction to a question is gruff, rude, and disrespectful. My husband and I will be moving our prescriptions to another pharmacy. We had a covid-test scheduled for today. Received confirmation and reminder about the appointment. One hour before the appt, they called saying they had to cancel because they ran out of tests. They said try calling other locations to do a walk-in. We called 5 locations and they all said they don't do walk-ins and don't know any location that does since it's all based on appts. One even questioned how this location ran out of tests because you can't even book an appt unless they account for the tests available. We are traveling in 2 days and need a test pre-flight. No other Walgreens has any appt soon enough where we can get the results in time before we fly. We had to resort to paying out of pocket at UMC. Luckily they were kind enough to take us and give us a test after explaining the situation, even though their appts were booked out for the next couple days. read more

The pharmacy staff is great! The man with the long hair working the drive through window was super sweet! My insurance information wasn't correct and he was extremely patient. Unfortunately this location has to deal with tons of senior citizens. They are typically rude and bring down the moral of this location. While I was waiting to get my insurance information corrected, a lady started screaming at me and the staff! It was disgusting. Pointing out the differences in the multitude of Walgreens we have to choose from is daunting. This one is easier because it's in Sun City Anthem. Hence, it's quite clean and stocked with plenty of Centrum Silver (I dunno if that's true just a witty musing). For me, it's worth driving by 3 other Walgreens to find the stuff I need here! I've called this location my "secret" Walgreens as I have much success finding sale & seasonal items here that usually disappear quickly at other locations. I've always found parking here to be effortless too which is also important in the scheme of things. read more

Once again the front cashier was extremely rude. Tried to buy a battery and couldn't get the $1.50 off as advertised which I could deal with. Was told must download the coupon a half hour in advance. So okay, as my transaction was done I asked for a receipt and the cashier literally threw her arms up in the air and stated I should have told her that before she started the transaction. Wow.... A grown lady throwing a temper tantrum. This was on 12/26 between 4:05-4:15pm. Can I suggest she find another job? So ridiculous but not a real shocker for this location. read more

In the past six months, I've had 5 prescriptions filled at this location. On three occasions, the prescription wasn't available when promised. In one instance they said they didn't have stock. Another time claimed the doctor didn't send in the prescription. Getting prescriptions filled in a timely fashion prior to leaving for vacation when you need doctors to resend info and insurance companies to sign on prior authorizations is stressful. Kelly and her staff went above and beyond navigating the deep swampy waters of this process to get my prescription filled the day before I left. I cannot thank them enough for the extra effort they put forth. These folks touch millions of pills but they never lost focus on how important my prescription was to me. One star is too generous for this Walgreens. This is the absolute worst Walgreens, ever. I have been coming here for years because of proximity and I leave angry EVERY SINGLE TIME. I've ordered photos to be told at pick up that their machine is broken more times than I can count. Their pharmacy takes days to fill a prescription, never calls to let you know if your prescription is ready, leaves you on hold for hours, and their staff is incompetent. My latest, and last, time here they waited until Friday at 4:40 to let me know they can't fill my 6 months old child's prescription until the following week. The prescription was sent in on Wednesday! They said the dr wasn't in our network and that they needed a new script and then that the medication needed a prior authorization (not true). After multiple trips to the pharmacy, multiple phone calls from myself and the drs office, they just realized they couldn't fill it. Then the asked if my son actually needed it and if he did they could try calling another location. Why would I spend all this time, carting my baby and toddler into their store multiple times if he didn't need it? Incompetent doesn't even begin to describe this Walgreens staff. A week or so ago I went to Walgreen on Hampton RD. with a paper prescription for an antibiotic. Handed the paper to the clerk and was told it would be about 20 minutes. I waited and was finally called and took my meds and went home. For over a week I was taking 3 pills a day. Guess what?????? They gave me the wrong med in a mislabel bag. I was taking blood pressure med. (keep in mind the bag and paper instruction staple to the bag were for the antibiotic, the bottle was label with the name of the blood pressure med both were spelled with the first letter A.) Not being a pharmacist, I missed the mistake. When I went to pick up my regular med, I discovered the mistake. Now, I was taking 4 times the dosage for my blood pressure and not getting the antibiotic ( I could of gone septic or had a major reaction to an overdose of blood pressure med) Walgreens response was Not their problem................I should of read the label on the bottle. REALLY. Will call my insurance company later on today. read more

I pull up at 120pm to the drive thru pharmacy on Hampton Rd. 3 cars in front of me. At 132pm it was my turn & the clerk put up the closed for lunch time, no other cars behind me. I go inside & am informed the Rx is closed for lunch from 130-200pm. I am switching all my prescriptions, 7 of them to CVS who doesn't have lunch closure & even if they did I doubt they would have provided this type of customer service. Nice job training your staff Floorgreens! Am I wrong to be upset & severely inconvenienced? Absolute worst pharmacy and careLess pharmacists I have ever dealt with! Completely unprofessional and have no consideration for anyone else. I will be transferring all my prescriptions! Everytime I go there they can't seem to have the meds say they are doing one thing and don't do it to transfer to another location they can't fill it so instead of calling and advising they let you drive all over town. My daughter medication they didn't have lastt night told me to come today at 2.30 then tell me they cancelled it because thee dr didn't provide enough instructions! This is about the 5th time they have been unprofessional with my scripts. Came with my family on Sunday 7/15/18 to do, what I thought would be a simple exchange transaction and have to admit, I have never experienced such level of unprofessionalism. Lady at the front cashier's station was extremely rude and disrespectful. She was literarily fighting with us...basically, she was trying to prove to us how "smart" she was...when in fact she has no clue, as to how Foster Grants Reading Glasses are tagged for part and strength number. The manager came to resolve the situation and told her that "she should never argue with customers"....to which she just walked off with attitude, saying to her self: "Jesus Christ" !!! The Manager said to us that he can't say anything else to her and said: "he can't even suggest for her to apologize for being wrong" nor offered to us that he will have a conversation with this employee. This whole experience made me and my Family very upset and uncomfortable, therefore, I will never come back to this particular store again! It is unfortunate and disappointing, because this Walgreen's is right in our neighborhood, as we have been residents of Anthems for the last 12 years, but of course there are other options, also close by...in our neighborhood...such as CVS. This location is absolutely horrible! In specific regards to the pharmacy. They always give out wrong information, delay my prescriptions, and are overall extremely slow. My experience has been worst each time I've come here and I'm most definitely changing company's after my last experience. My doctor has sent in the prescription over 5 times and they "don't seem to have it" after looking up the wrong profile and calling me the wrong name multiple times. It shouldn't take multiple hours to fulfill a simple prescription especially when the automated system calls to say it's ready. read more

Manager is a jerk and apparently blind to the fact that there are 4 people waiting in line and only one cashier. Either jump on a register yourself or get the person stocking the magazine rack to get on a register. I had a $10 reward that I wanted to use and entered my zip code and it said it was wrong. I've moved a lot in the past year and couldn't remember the code, so I asked him politely to override it. I know they can, I've seen them do it before. He said he was unable. Wouldn't even try. That's pure laziness. If you are unable to override a $10 coupon, then you're useless as a manager. read more
