Terrible place to visit. Customer Service is horrible. They sold me stale tobacco products and refuse to refund. All the tobacco products in the store are no good so it could not be exchanged. The receipt did not state the items could not be returned. Nor did the cashier Della state it was a final sale for the product. ASK THE MANAGER FOR ASSISTANCE BY SHOWING PRINTED PROOF TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE FINALE SALE! Management could not return my money for an item that was stale and not as expected-she stated the register will not allow. I see Walgreens has 2.5 stars now. That's too many. I just visited Walgreens in Fountain hills for a simple task: Get passport photos taken. A young man, about 17 didn't want to take photos, because my business asked for photos in two shirts. He started asking me why I needed this and questioned the legality. Really? He asked me why I needed them. A Sheriff was there getting donuts or some anxiety meds, and he began to eavesdrop. The young man kept going up the the cop. This is a simple task - take the photos. The "shift lead", an incompetent, rude man named "Dan", came up to question me. He asked why THE SHERRIFF WAS PRESENT. How the hell do I know why the cop was at the register, eavesdropping. The manager suggested the cop was there to follow me, and he was making sure I was not a problem. The cop was not associated with me. The manager continued on his abusive rant, and suggested he would call the sheriff. I asked what for? Bad customer service and rude treatment? Dan said "I have four witnesses who will say whatever we want". He did suggest I go to CVS. I did just that. I told my story to the pleasant woman there, and she took my photos. It was VERY BUSY at CVS. Walgreens was empty except for the numerous idle employees, and the transient cop looking for drugs. CVS reminded me that Walgreens stock was under 12. I looked. They collapsed and were taken private. The PE firm should eliminate the Fountain Hills store and let CVS and Safeway take the few remaining customers they have. I see why the company collapsed. Horrible employees, horrible management, threatening, lazy and disorganized. They are demoralized and rude. Thankfully, I found CVS. read more

We stopped here for bottled water after a doc appointment. Nice staff but this location is in a busy crossing and has lots of homelessness outside of the store, as well as, in the area. The homeless weren't bothering anyone but, it's just sad to see, especially in this heat. Don't be afraid to offer to get them water or to give them money for water, whichever you're comfy with. They were really nice and grateful! It's free to be nice and a bottle of water is under$2.00. Js ‍ The staff were all really nice humans. Plenty of parking on location! read more

This is a review is directly reflective towards the staff from 05/07/2023 at 9:45pm. I have no other opinions of this location. When a paying customer requests to use the bathroom you should consider how degrading it is to tell them the bathroom is closed. Reconsider when they repeat to you the urgency of this request. Humans should be allowed the decency of being able to use a toilet. At no time did I represent anything other than a paying customer that requested the use of a bathroom. When your manager discusses this with you I hope you understand it's not personal because you are being paid. I did not request to come into your home and use your fuzzy toilet seat. It is no wonder pharmacies are going out of business. I placed an online order for a cough medicine, it was to be delivered at 5 and it is now 7:20. When I ordered it I told them they could make substitutions if needed (different flavor, size). Spending 20 minutes on the phone I learned they had cancelled it versus making a substitution AND had not told me it was cancelled. I go here to get my prescriptions filled and also to shop for cosmetics and stuff occasionally. I've never had a problem with the pharmacy. The drive thru line can take a while at times, so I try to go during the off-peak hours. When I don't have to wait for other people in line I can drive up, get my prescription, and be done in less than 5 minutes. and sometimes they have treats for my dog! read more

I bought a cell phone and calling card at 3:14 PM at 8469 E McDonald Dr. I got it home and tried to put the battery in it but could not figure out how. I went back to the store around 5:30 PM. I asked for help or a refund. I was passed around the store for around 10 minutes when I finally saw a manager at the prescription counter. He said, follow me and I did as he went up front, and started to give me a refund. I pointed out that there was a calling card and he said that Walgreens NEVER refunds any type of card. He said that I should of been informed at the time of purchase, but I was not. Things got heated and He threatened to call the police if I was not out of there is 5 minutes. I use this Walgreens solely for prescriptions, but I'm officially on the hunt for another pharmacy or switching to mail order. I don't find the staff particularly friendly at this location or particularly helpful. I had a problem with my insurance accepting my prescription once, and they didn't bother to tell me until I got there. By far the worst part is the wait time. The drive thru is consistently a ridiculous wait. Out of the 8 times I've gone, only once did I wait less than 10 minutes. If you can't staff enough people to cover the drive thru, then just don't have one! Last night, I was the only car in the drive thru. The pharmacist said he would be with me in a few minutes. 10 minutes later, I was still waiting with no further or update or acknowledgement. I finally gave up and left and now have to make a second trip tonight. Going inside doesn't really make it that much faster either. The evening shift pharmacy manager is a jerk. They only had a partial quantity of my prescription available so he gave that to me and told me to come back when I was ready for the rest. I came back a week and a half later and he told me that I had to pay my extremely high co-pay again because I waited too long to come back. I told him that there was no time frame given or I would've come back for the rest already. He argued with me and said that he had informed me of that (LIAR!!!!!). He refused to override the charge for a prescription that I'd already paid for. He told me if I had a problem I could call 1800-Walgreens. I did just that. I spoke with someone in customer service who said that someone would contact me within 48 hours. I received a call the next day saying that my prescription was ready and the fee was being waived. This pharmacy is a joke. The amount of times I schedule my prescription, wait an extra day just to make sure they get it done, only to drive over and be told it's not ready. No joke, I swear this has happened at least 8 times. I switched pharmacies, but had to switch back after a move. What a mistake! They always have an excuse, but they NEVER relay it to me via email or phone (like the delayed email they ALWAYS send right after I drive away without my prescription), they just pretend it's being processed and send an email letting me know the ETA, and let me drive up to then explain I can't have my medication that I kind of need. What's sad is it's obvious they don't care and that they kind of hope your experience will hinder you from returning, a really sad way to run a pharmacy as we are depending on our medications. -- Also, called today and had to correct them because they had my prescription the entire time. CVS is so much better when it comes to filling prescriptions. This place takes longer. And they forget about you. CVS will call out your name, here its "Oh you are still waiting?" :-| Pros - the app is great, Walgreens photo is amazing and helps my scrap bookign needs! This pharmacy is ridiculous. They can't keep the app updated with the correct medication and you are not able to fill any scheduled medications any earlier then the exact day that they were filled before (ex 30 day supply can only be picked up on day 30 of the next month). I understand that abuse is a huge issue these days; however, people have lives and it's not always possible to pick that medication up that day. I think it would be reasonable to allow a patient to pick up their medications one or two days early. Even if the patient was regularly doing that, it would not allow enough excess medication to do much harm. I do not appreciate feeling like a criminal when I go to pick up my medication. These pharmacies have taken their policing role way too far. Also the pharmacy staff is very rude. read more

So, went and got a Covid test at Walgreens here in Tempe,AZ and they sent my samples to the lab with no name on the container. I lost two day and $400 at work because of that and Walgreens Corporate says because it's was a free test it's not their fault and will not reimburse needs for lost wages. This Walgreens is by far the best one I have ever been too! It's is always so clean and fully stocked! I work for the hospital which is down the street and I stop by this Walgreens occasionally to pick up some water or snacks. They greet you as soon as you walk in never fails even if I've been there multiple times they make you feel welcomed each time. The sweet elderly lady is AMAZING! She is the reason as to why I keep going back! She gets to know you and is so very sweet while at check out. She is an example of a role model! No matter what kind of day I had/have she is there to put a smile on your face and that one encounter will make such a difference in your day! Called the drs to let them know they never received a prescription. Was told by the doctor it was ready and it had been ready to go. I have been going to this Walgreens for over 2 years now. I started to utilize them because I had a lot of medications to be filled through chemotherapy and radiation treatment. I have repeatedly been treated disrespectfully by the staff but I kept going here for convenience. I finally reached my limit and switched pharmacies to a competitor across the street. What a difference! I will NEVER go back here for prescription refills. I had staff roll their eyes at me, huff at me, lie to me, and pretty much just treat me horribly. I will say that I was filling controlled medication sometimes but ummm, hello...cancer. Not once did they look up my profile before treating me like total crap. Same circumstance on the phone too. I put in a formal complaint but nothing changed. If you are filling prescriptions and have any questions or want anything done proactively with your doctor about your prescription, go elsewhere.
