Come on, Walgreens, get your act together and do better. So I had a heart attack last month. I was in the hospital for a week. I was given a whole bunch of medication to take to my pharmacy upon discharge, to get filled. When I got to the Walgreens, there was a sign saying they were closed for the day because the pharmacist was out. really? They only have one pharmacist on staff? I was told to drive really far away to get my prescriptions. This is extremely inconvenient for someone who just had a heart attack and lives in over 100 degree weather. I went ahead and told the pharmacist at the other place that I only wanted it for one month and that the other location was my main location, and they said no worries. Fast forward till today. I called in plenty of time to fill one of my prescriptions. All wrong info GIVEN to me over the phone about my refills. I was told it would be ready at 2 o'clock. Ha! it's already a 100° in Phoenix and I'm not feeling that great to begin with. Remember, I had a heart attack a month ago. Be sympathetic health care workers. So I drive all the way there at 3pm. I AM waiting in a long line and they don't have my prescription ready. They tell me it's a mistake it is at other location. 3 hour wait if I want it there. "Why,I asked? "I called here. No answer given. The pharmacist then comes over and argues with me about one of my other prescriptions and how I'm taking it wrong. Grrrreat. I TOLD her the bottle said this and she says no it does not..Ummmm.yes it does. Verified again. She pretty much called me a.liar. Sheesh waaaa? Last Pharmacist was very rude too. I am going to fax her a photo of the bottle. She continued to say it did not. GUESS WHAT Lady? IT DOES. I drive all the way over to the other location with no AC in my car. During my wait I get sick and am not feeling well. I have to wait again in line to get my prescription barely able to stand up to be told that my prescription cannot be transferred back to the other store for next time. It has to stay on file at both locations and is my responsibility to make sure I am calling the correct one. Ummmmmm!. I was. smdh The person then tries to argue with me when I told him I never even called this location. Treats me like a 5-year-old. Says, "make sure you tell them it's at the other location,"Dude how did you even get involved, you are not my store? Again, tells me it cannot be deleted out and is my responsibility.ummm????? I did not even call this store. i am still upset that the pharmacist was totally calling me a liar about what my medication bottle says. I'm actually going to be sending her a copy of the directions on the medication bottle. Listen Walgreens. I get you are busy and people are phallable, but really? This is not the way to treat somebody who's sick. Or anyone for that matter. I am educated and an ex Health care professional. Imagine a person who is not aware or illiterate? People are sick and not at their best. Do better it is literally your job to help sick people. Stop being jerks. Onto finding a new pharmacy. I stopped at this location for the first time last weekend, to purchase 2 Wet + Wild pink lip gloss. On the shelf nearby, I spotted a bright red nail polish called Sally Hansen Insta-Dry 'ASAP Apple'. I was looking for this bright color for a while but chose to skip this brand due to price and was waiting for a sale instead. The night cashier was polite and used his registered phone number for me for any further discounts after the sale on the 2 lip gloss. Later that week, I was in the neighborhood again and decided to stop by to grab that red nail polish (there was only 1 in stock) before it's too late, along with 2 other colors of the same brand: darker pink 'Sleek-a-boo' and 'Espresso'. Day cashier "Blake" [dumb name for the poor guy, no wonder] gave me $1.00 off upon my request, but he messed up when he failed to print a receipt unbeknownst to me and handed me the bag with a slight uncomfortable look. Suspicious, I opened the bag outside and lo & behold- no receipt with my purchase! I walked back in and sternly demanded the receipt. He went in the back room to print out a copy. I noticed that it didn't look attractive like the in-store plus other valuable info. He didn't know a better way to resolve what I paid for, so I did his job and advised him to refund my purchase and then checkout so I could get the exact receipt that I was supposed to have had(!) He didn't know how to do that esp when he asked for my ID, and I had to tell him it's not required with a credit card purchase. He also said he thought the receipt was being e-mailed, and I told him I didn't pick that option and was not registered with Walgreens online(!) Got my receipt= mission accomplished. Customer service is terrible. I work at a walgreens location so I understand how things work and im not sure why the white man at the register is so difficult. Was not allowed to use my coupon with my employee discount for some reason. Also my family was refused using my account to make a purchase. read more

I can't say enough about how disappointed I am that this Walgreens is pretty much worthless. Pharm was closed, the employees had no idea, and they held my prescriptions hostage. Moved everything to the Walgreens on 19th Avenue and Bethany Home. They were helpful. read more

They charged me for a cart full of sodas then expected me to carry them out to the car without the cart. I will be reporting this place to the ADA as they are required to make reasonable accommodation in regards to carrying heavy loads. read more

Disappointed to learn that this dread Justin Huffman is still a pharmacist here. What a jerk. Insensitive, arrogant, sloppy, rude, and in a tremendous hurry to go home. The night I encountered this unfortunate creature, it was a few minutes until closing. I had a question about my prescription. He was putting on his jacket as I approached. His coworker had to remind him that he was there to help customers and it would be prudent to stay until the pharmacy closed. I've already told my story. However, I still am able to update my review. This Justin Huffman (yeah I had his last name wrong before) is not fit for human habitation. Some people do grow and change with time. Walgreens - Drugstores Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Why have a huge restroom sign when they don't have public bathrooms? I entered two unlocked doors (no where is it posted that they do not have public restrooms) just to have a lady follow me and yell about the bathrooms and practically escort me out of the bathroom. Every store has toilet paper and lotion. Pick it up in the customer service or people will no longer go here. I get that this location is a little sketch. But i am not homeless and do not look like i am about to take a bath in the sink. read more

This review is for 06/11/2011. When you leave home, don't forget that there is a high probability that you forgot something. I did forget something and I needed to get it fast. With the handy, dandy GPS, I found a 24 hour Walgreens just near my motel. The location of this Walgreens is on the east side of the 17 Freeway on the intersection of Northern and 19th Ave. I felt like home if I see a Walgreens. The building design is universal and I knew where to get items without even looking. This Walgreens was busier than the MetroCenter Mall to think about it. I can't specify what item I was getting, but I got in and out fast. A lot of the customers are the elderly. I think I got a few stares since I was the only big, tall, Asian guy in the store. At least, the staring reputation follows me from Los Angeles to Phoenix. Not much of anything to write about this Walgreens, but I am glad to have found it. Thanks to Darren Awender, Walgreen's pharmacist at 8030 N. 19th Avenue, I was cautious about deciding to use a medication prescribed to me. Its second ingredient was a sulfa product, something I am allergic to. Thanks to this pharmacist's comment, I chose not to use a product that would have harmed me. Cannot thank this individual enough, who simply responded "That's my job. That's what I am here for." . . . truly grateful is what I feel. read more

Great staff and loved the drive up pharmacy at 19th and Northern. Only wish they would direct people with looong orders to come inside or take a drive around the building. Let us with quick pick ups go through quicker. We did 25 minutes one time. 2 cars ahead. Always very nice attendance and appreciate trying to get us through the line. read more

Nice location, convenient to our hotel. Busy, but we were able to get through quickly. Nice selection of drugs, snacks, drinks, and a limited grocery. Prices are reasonable. Good choice for those things you have forgotten while travelling. read more
