Do not use this company unless you have a very basic roof, and even then don't go with this company as they do not stand behind their work. Our roof was done sloppily with collateral damage to the dormers that caused a leak. They claim that there is nothing wrong with the roof itself and therefore they do not have responsibility for the leak, and because the leak only occurs with heavy storms with wind, the leak cannot be caused by the roof. However, this leak did not exist prior to their work on the roof. Basically stay away, they are not to be trusted to stand by their work. read more

I selected Walker Roofing to replace the roof on my home. I selected them because the sales person and paperwork were professional and because they called and asked about my decision. - Well, the roof leaks around the chimney. At first they blamed my 3 year old chimney then they attempted a repair that was not successful. I had to hire another roofing company and I will now need to have a 2ft by 2ft section of my kitchen ceiling removed and repaired due to water damage. read more

I'm still on this journey. So, this is an ongoing event. If I had to get a new roof again, I would not go with this company. Small mistakes becoming big problems without proper planning and preparation. Job was rushed. Very sloppy workmanship. Roof was done in July and I'm still trying to workout issues with collateral damage. Damage to deck and sofit. Overall, not very happy with the result. Multiple back and forth communication with various managers and the owner. They keep telling me they will take care of things, but I don't see anything getting done even after knowing what needs to be done. More delays after more delays. I'm still waiting to get things fixed which could take another year. It's been the most frustrating experience in a very long time with any contractor I've ever had to work with, and I've owned 10 homes in my lifetime in addition to 3 rentals that I currently own. read more

We were very happy to have Walker do the roof and gutters on our house. Andy was exceptionally helpful and hands-on in the process, making sure we got the exact roof we wanted. When we wanted shingles that were hard to find in the Minneapolis metro area (GAF Grand Sequoia Impact Resistant), they went the extra mile to find samples for us. They also did a beautiful job with the portion of our roof that required a rubber roof. There were two minor things that I didn't like visually about the roof, but, rather than just telling me that was just how a normal roof would look (which is what my neighbors told me), Walker changed it and made it look awesome! read more

I got a rather random referral to Walker which I ignored for a couple weeks. Then I got over my procrastination and really studied it, returned the phone call, the sale was handled extremely well by Blaine. They showed up a half hour early which was great. Scraped the roof off and discovered that the original decking was in such poor condition d it wouldn't hold a nail. It was that bad..... So they tacked that on to the contract and still finished the job the same day. Including a meticulous clean-up. I've hired them to replace 7 windows. I can't wait. read more

I had 9 roofing quotes. I choose Walker Roofing because Blaine Massee gave me a low pressure estimate and was very knowledgeable, honest and professional. He answered all of my questions. They were able to tear down the roof on the house and garage and replace it. The color looks great and they did a great job! No surprises! It was scheduled and finished so quickly! I was speaking with many Twin City contractors who found the behavior and attempts at negotiation with Walker to be unprofessional, scary-poor customer service and incompetent. They removed painted wood fascia and replaced with unpainted wood with no heads up. The roofing was the 3rd floor so to hire someone to go that high to prime/paint would be super expensive rather than what other contractors do...inform you. Previous folks brought the boards to me, and I returned them ASAP primed and painted. Walker told me when speaking that" it is NOT their policy to let people know what they find/ or what they are doing." Unacceptable. They took my down payment check of $1000.00 and submitted it to my bank for $10, 000.00 which caused my credit card, and other important cyclical bills to bounce which impacted credit rating. When I spoke to the office manager, she had told me she was unaware that this happened and a moment later was telling me that that sort of billing error was "normal and it happens all the time "...perhaps for Walker. It took weeks to clean up that mess with many charges from bills from my account having been fraudulently charged $9,000.00 more by Walker than I wrote the check. The manager was so rough and super inappropriate, with blaming, excusing Walker and basically bullying me that I had to get off the phone. So the upshot is that as Walker is incompetent, has poor communication and causes unreasonable charges due to incompetence....the best way to mediate with the customer is to bully, threaten, dismiss, deny....get the picture? Donald Trump style of customer service. There are good TC roofing companies, why waste your time with this sort of drama and incompetence as they are clearly untrustworthy. read more

I watched Walker Roofing come and roof our rather large, but simple garage roof last summer on a hot day. It must have been ten workers that came and they were done in two hours; they were done by 10:00 A.M. They mail you the estimate USPS. That adds another layer of non-sketchiness to their work, as we know the USPS can getcha for mail fraud if you are a crook (Remember Al Capon?). Today they are roofing our house, and we had extra oddities for our roof. We had to have a piece of moldy plywood removed, and have them wait while we sand and treat any mold on rafter/rafters. Also, we had an extra mesh for them to install. When we talked to the foreman, he didn't know about either of these. But they worked with us and did exactly what was needed, and cooperated while we sanded our rafter. They even were helpful moving small pieces of junk that get in the way after removing a roof. The foreman went out to get a replacement piece of plywood, and it was fine because it let the rafter sit there longer than needed after the mold destroyer and sealer. So, I gotta say the communication may be a little poor, and you have to be your own advocate (...like...everything!). Otherwise, they rock. My husband just talked to someone that reroofed their house for more than double the cost of Walker, so I think the pricing may be quite competitive. read more

Pro: Personally liked the contractor who did the work and the owner whom I spoke with. Cons: Poor communication, customer service and mediocre work at best. I'm sure people have had good experiences with this company in the past as they were recommended by a couple neighbors, unfortunately for me that was not the case.. Long story short: A roof and gutter job requiring at least two sets of hands/eyes was done by just one individual. And it showed. Aesthetically speaking it was disappointing. Gutters measured too long, shingles sticking up, cringe-worthy holes cut in new wood fascia for lighting units, a downspout wasn't even connected to one of the gutters, banged up metal trim painted a different color and installed with old rusty screws. At that point I called the city to see how the inspection went and Walker never even pulled a permit for the job.. The owner of the company actually called me personally and had another contractor come out and right all of the wrongs. Everything looks fine now, but who wants to go through multiple attempts to get a smaller job done correctly when it should have taken one? No discount or anything was offered. This was the cheapest of the 5 quotes I received, pay a little more and get your time and moneys worth. read more

We were originally scheduled to have our roof redone this spring. Thanks to warm February weather it happened then. Only took one day, and gutters were redone the next day. Brick chimney crown was redone later when the weather warmed up again. Excellent job done in all respects! Ray G. read more

HORRIBLE! Hired them to reroof my house. They did a terrible job could see daylight through the gapping hole that was left around the chimney. They came out and told me they had fixed the problem, however my roof is still leaking. I would never hire them. It was a huge mistake read more
