I really liked this place! Great bar and grill located right on the Grand River. The cod fish and…read morechips were delicious . Staff was very friendly and helpful. This place would be amazing in the summer to sit out on the patio.

Location/Service Stumbled upon this place while doing a day…read moretrip. This spot is right by the river with patio setup in the summer. Inside is very big and can accommodate large groups (best to reserve in advance). You can also sit by the bar if you like. Typical bar and grill setup - I like the little pieces of decor to spruce up the vibe. Staff were very nice, I'd really like the bartender who gave recommendations for first timers and explain the menu. Food Menu has a lot of typical bar & grill items, but with a Newfoundland twists since it's Newfoundland style. So definitely try dishes that are more known on the east end - like Newfie Fries, Lobsters, Cod au Gratin, Newfie Steak Dinner. The steak is a maple leaf bologna and not you're typical meat - more of the saltier and drier side. Newfie fries is a type of dressing that uses bread crumbs and yellow onions - again more of the saltier side, but it matches quite well with gravy as a poutine. Food pricing overall is very standard and not overly expensive. Portion sizes were very generous, had to pack it to go. Overall a good find if you're in the neighbourhood and traveling, great to explore and learn more about Newfoundland food.

Made a reservation a few months ahead for a planned weekend with friends for a Friday night. When…read morewe arrived they had no record of a reservation in my name. Hostess kept saying I count have possibly made a res that far in advance. Kept insisting I called the wrong place. After lengthy discussion where she insisted I was in the wrong and she was correct, she told us that there were 2 tables available and she could seat us........why not lead with that?? Suggestion: "oh, I don't see a reservation in that name. Perhaps there was some sort of miscommunication. Luckily there are 2 different table options. Give me a couple minutes to get one cleaned and set and we'll get you seated asap". Next, the bartender came to deliver our wine and said "which of you ladies messed up and called the wrong restaurant?" ???? Again much better communication would have included "oh, Im so glad we could get you seated tonight" What an interesting way to greet customers..... Anyway, the food was good and our server was very pleasant so Im giving them a 3.

Visited this place for a quick lunch after the beach and was surprised with how much I enjoyed it…read more Great outdoor seating for a more relaxed vibe along with a nice interior that's more dressy. Food was reasonably priced for the quality and was very delicious. Service was fast and organized. Also got the fries and the aioli and they were probably some of the best fries I've ever had and the dip was 10/10. The salad was very good with a minimal note about the dressing being a bit tart. The soup of the day was a broccoli cheddar which was vegetarian (woot woot) and was very good. Would recommend for a quick pop in at any point in your trip to Bayfield!

Terrible food and a very poor experience. I will never go back to Queen's Bush Pub! It had always…read morehad a pretty good reputation but after my experience I do not recommend this place to anyone! I ordered the fish and chips for a lunch with a friend and it was terrible Basically it was a larger sized version of a Capt. Highliner frozen and baked fillet! I am not one to waste food as know if I refuse it, it will be thrown away. I did however share with the owner how aweful the food was when he asked about our meal. When I told him that the fish n chips were aweful, all he did is smirk, grin and chuckle, and then walk away! How aweful is that type of treatment of a customer! That is not an owner who cares about his customers! After when the bill came I told the waitress that fish and chips at a restaurant should not be a breaded and baked Capt. Highliner frozen fish fillet. She noted that "the menu doesn't say hand battered", and she also said she didn't note it in her list of customer favorites. She also pointed out that they can't do make them hand battered anyway as they don't have a deep fryer! What restaurant/Pub doesn't have a deep fryer, other than a preassenble place like a Tim Hortons. They use an air fyer! If that is the case then DO NOT OFFER FISH AND CHIPS! She also did not offer any thing off the price. That is terrible service response, and the qualtiy of the frozen, air fried fish was just as bad! My friend's butter chicken was also not recommended. Very bland! So sad as it is a nice looking place!
