After having volunteered here a few years back, and getting to help in the store, this is where I want my donations to go. The store had a very friendly staff and welcomed me as a volunteer. The store is divided into different areas with clothing; home goods; furniture; books and such. The prices were reasonable as well. The products would good quality and laid out in a way easy to see what is available. It is a good place to find deals and treasures.

Upon entry, there was a lonnnnnnnng line & the 2 young ladies at the register didn't speak. They had no problem speaking to each other while popping gum and complaining about their work hours. Ummm, ok. Unprofessional. I was looking for something in particular, but they organize their clothing by color and not necessarily by type of clothing. That made it harder for me, so I ended up leaving pretty quickly. I've never had the energy or patience enough to look through piles of things to find what I need. So, thrifting has never been my thing. I may come back another time. Today was just not a good from the bad customer service to the musty odor in the store beating me upside the head and giving me a headache the entire time. I will do a new review if I return.

Just not sure why things always seem to look like such a hot mess here...if it's due to a lack of help , or if it is a lack of strong leadership from management, but it needs top to bottom improvement in overall store cleanliness and organization. There are clumps of dust everywhere on backs of shelves, dust on the cart wheels, and there is no clear section for dishes, glasses, toys, baby items, baking pans, or tools, you name it , it's all over the shelves, spread out everywhere all mixed in together. It's crazy! They are seriously lacking someone in management with strong organizational skills, and employees that take pride in the appearance of their store.

All the staff members were very helpful, and want to see you leave with exactly what your looking for. When you enjoy talking to the staff just as much as you enjoyed the actual shopping experience, you have found a truly special combo! I am so grateful we had the privilege of supporting a local non-profit that helps those in need! It is a great place to shop for the holidays or for any day of the week really! She needs to learn more from her partner Sheila who is the polar opposite and is pleasant, courteous and helpful. Helen needs to learn customer service or get out of it! If you go here, ask for Sheila and avoid Helen at all cost. The shop is small but packed full of clothing. A little pricy but they do serve familys in need. It's a real shame if a needy family has to suffer through Helen's bad attitude to get assistance.

Watch the prices on the items you find…read more I had a very disappointing experience at the North Market Street location in Raleigh. I found a set of controllers that were clearly marked $20 and decided I wanted to buy them. The registers were down and the store was only accepting cash, so I asked an employee if she could hold the controllers while I went to withdraw more money. Instead of simply holding the item, the employee took a picture of the controllers and checked their value on her phone. She then told me that they were worth more than the marked price and that I would now have to pay $40 instead of the $20 they were marked for. I declined and left. What bothers me isn't that the store may have realized the item was worth more than $20. What bothers me is that the price apparently changed only after an employee realized they could get more money for it. As a customer, I shouldn't have to wonder whether the price on an item is actually the price I'll be charged. If an item is sitting on the floor with a $20 price tag and a customer agrees to buy it for $20, changing it to $40 because someone checked the item's online value is an extremely poor way to handle a sale. I wasn't looking for special treatment or a discount. I simply expected the store to honor the price that was displayed. I also reached out to the organization directly afterward to explain what happened and give them an opportunity to address it privately. Unfortunately, I never received a response. That's what ultimately prompted me to leave this review. I hope management looks into this, because if this is allowed to happen, customers have very little reason to trust the prices they see on the shelves.

The two people they sent to my house this last time looked like were in no shape to lift anything--including the relatively new queen size mattress and box spring I was willing to donate. Then, they wanted me to sign a waiver stating if they broke stuff in my home...I would just have to eat it. Luckily for me, I ended up giving the bed set to a neighbor who was extremely appreciative. I'm done with these Habitat pick up service. They make it so hard to give them good stuff.

Most items were priced very, very low. BUT! Buyer beware!…read more Examine potential purchases carefully. I found two rips in a bed sheet I was looking at. A couple of the purses were significantly stained inside or had cracked straps. Art was 50% the Thursday I went. I didn't see anything special. Another door sign says to wear a mask, but even the clerk was wearing his as a beard bib. Everyone else was unmasked or with their nose exposed. The items under the scarves in the 25c and 50c bin were the source of most of my little finds. However, I also bought two very high-quality woven baskets for $5 total. I imagine they were at least 30 times higher when new. Items are very organized by category. It would be nice if clothes were sorted a bit more. It's too much to ask they sort by size, but putting short sleeves and long sleeves in separate areas would be useful. $3.25 for a shirt seems a bit high to me. Ties & belts were $1/each. Linens were priced differently depending on bed size and number of pieces. Dig deeply here. I found that an adorable twin set had its matching pillowcases hidden on a different shelf. They also had furniture, baby items, kids' toys and jewelry. I will definitely be back here again! The store felt a bit more grubby than most. I can't say exactly why, but I wouldn't buy any upholstered here. Everything I bought could be thrown in the laundry or sprayed with Lysol.
