What's that? Yes, I noticed that too. There isn't a hill, let alone a mountain in sight. Change the name of the town to Houses. The Canalta this time was almost as good as the last. Once again, the guy I was travelling with was put on the first floor. Myself and the two other guys in the other truck were sent down the hall 50 feet, and 2 floors up. The white guys on the third and the Indian dude on the first. You bastards haha. Frankly, it should always be the same party, same floor. Popcorn is awesome, and here it is free in the afternoon. It saves travel time for supper if you eat 739 bags of it. The problem with that is though the popcorn is free, plumbing is not a few days later. Thank goodness it wasn't mine. Breakfast was pretty good, staff were great and they had a waterslide. Dammit. No swim shorts and a waterslide. I'm convinced that every hotel chain all buy theirs from the same company because they're exactly the same wherever you go.

The worst part of our stay was the room blowing extremely cold air. I tried boosting the thermostat (no improvement), I tried temperature dials on both registers and I tried this for about 4 hours at all settings. We went swimming and came back during these changes and finally went out for dinner towards evening. I stopped at the reception to complain about the temperature control and asked for a service tech to check this situation out while we were gone. She said a tech was not were available but she could adjust the heat!!!! They have a temp control for each room at the front desk! She turned up the temp and said it should be better now. We came back from supper and the room was warmer and could now adjust the temps. So why are staff turning down temps in the rooms and not turning them up for guests when they arrive? No apology was given and they thought is was kind of funny!!! Needless to say, we will never stay here again. We cancelled our second night we had booked!

After a brutal motorcycle ride across the Rockies in terrible weather, I stopped over at this hotel…read morebecause I was too tired to travel any further. At 10 p.m., I discovered bedbugs crawling inside my pillow. I called the manager, who found even more bedbugs but insisted the hotel had "never" had this problem before and I must have brought them with me. She did switch my room, but when I called Alberta Health Services, they told me it was impossible for me to have brought them with me and that having them moving around visibly in the bedding indicates a severe infestation. The next morning, another guest told me his room was "crawling" with bedbugs, but the manager told me she checked his room and there was nothing there. Obviously, the hotel has a huge problem that they are trying to hide. The impact on me has been horrendous. I have just put all my motorcycle gear and my hard bags in the trash, at a total cost of around $3500 (for my Shoei Qwest helmet, my Rev It Horizon 2 jacket and pants, my Kawasaki hard bags and liners, my Klim Solstice 3 base layer, my Klim Sundance mid layer, my Dainese rain gear, my Alpinestars Stella Gran Torino boots, my Held gloves, etc. etc. By the time I buy a new phone and Kobo (which have to be "isolated" for 6 months to eliminate the bedbugs--obviously not a practical solution), I'll be out close to $5000. Needless to say, I can't afford to replace all this gear (which I've slowly accumulated over the course of several years). I'm a serious rider, and my heart is totally broken. Do NOT stay here, people! The place is totally infested, and the hotel is NOT dealing with the problem.
