Great tour guide and delivery... incredibly knowledgeable and spirited presentation! Covered a considerable amount of storytelling within a tight, walkable area.

Booked thru Viator, had a digital ticket. Picked an evening tour, which was great for ghost story telling. Hank was our tour guide. He was so enthusiastic telling the stories of Austin. The Driskill is the highlight and I'm glad I wasn't staying there after hearing the creepy stories. Great balance of walking, humor and goosebumps. Sometimes with it being a Saturday night, the noise of the city made it difficult to hear, but overall we had a great time!

Amazing ghost tour with Tyler! I now know that there was a murder here that I did not know before and the history behind the The Driskill hotel! Would definitely come back again when I'm in Austin, would definitely try going on that murder mystery tour next!

Great for out of towners but also really fun for austinites. We went on the ghost walk with Dan as our guide. We learned so much about the history of Austin and Dan was such a great story teller that we got goose bump in almost every one of his stories. What I loved about Dan is that he has added so much to the tour because he's met some people who have had their own experiences with ghosts or paranormal activity in Austin and he adds all those stories to his tour. This was absolutely a great way to spend an evening in Austin. It takes about 2 hours and you're right there in the nightlife hearing about creepy things have have happened right where you're standing. Thanks Dan.

Jim is a great guide and knows so much interesting history about the city. He made me look at the buildings I wouldn't normally look at with a new perspective. His enthusiasm is infectious and he's a skilled storyteller. Loved learning about Angelina Emberly and the origin of the Driskill Hotel. I would love to do the ghost or murder tour with him next time.

Emily was a fantastic tour guide who gave us a wonderful historical background of Austin along with our Ghosts! Would 100% do the tour again! We even found "Samantha" after the tour #iykyk

Great and informational tour. Alissa was informative and engaging! I will definitely do the ghost tour next trip!

10/10 I had a blast!! The tour was very informative and engaging. William, our tour guide, was super passionate, friendly and kept us all on our toes with his incredible story telling. I learned sooo much I almost didn't want it to end! I will definitely be booking the murder tour he told us about soon!

We experienced this tour last night and it exceeded our expectations. William was an excellent tour guide. He was articulate, animated, and engaging. We really enjoyed learning about some of Austin's history as a whole, as well as it's paranormal undertones. Another cool aspect was the old photos of Austin that he readily shared on an iPad to compare with the current city. I highly recommend taking this tour as it will enhance your connection and experience in the city.

I actually went on this exact tour about 1 year ago & realized he was the same guy! We went on a slightly different tour than we did last year though. Our tour guide was really nice and friendly. Our group consisted of just the three of us so it was essentially a private tour. It was in a comfortable enclosed van so we didn't have to worry about any of the outdoor elements. We got some history and insights of the city, a nice comfortable ride, and were able to get out and stretch our legs. If you prefer a more traditional tour, this is an excellent option.

Scrambling at the very last minute, I scoured Trip Advisor for a similar experience, and found Austin Detours. The tour was about to start, so I ran (yes, ran) through the 90+ degree Texas heat to arrive on time. My guide, David, was incredible, very interesting to listen to, and took us all around Austin. I really felt like I attained a better understanding for the city. He even took our picture at different spots, and the sweet treat was delightful. The only thing I didn't love was that the elder couple on the tour with me rambled about their political leanings, which I didn't agree with at all and I struggled to keep my mouth shut, but David did such a good job of delicately leading them off the topic on multiple occasions. Their tour is super reasonably priced, a value, really. I'd recommend them to anyone visiting Austin for the first time.

Why in the hell do people not tip tour guides? I can see if they suck, or the trip sucked... but neither of these things were true about this trip. Shame on all of the tight people who were in this trip with us. And shame on you if you can't give a few bucks to your tour guide! (End bitch session) As most tours, what can make or break a tour is the guide. In this case, ours was great! I apologize that I can remember her name, but I did attach a picture. So if you get her, you'll be entertained, informed and happy when the tour is finished! On our vacation we also did a similar (but larger) trip in San Antonio, and this one (Austin) was way better. I'm sure the City of Austin would say it's because Austin is more interesting, which may be true! But I'll say the small group and fun guide made this the winner.
