We took our one-year-old Golden-Doodle in to Blendon Kennels for a simple grooming. The before and…read moreafter pictures posted below say it all: They didn't groom her, but instead SHAVED her. We are in shock. I dropped the dog off early in the morning. I spoke with the groomer. She told me that it would be $10 extra because my dog's hair was "matted." Fair enough - she was mildly matted, but not excessively. Our regular groomer also charges a bit more because she has to use a special comb to work through the hair before cutting. My wife picked up the dog in the afternoon. Imagine her shock at seeing this horrendous, unprofessional hack job. She complained. The groomer then lied to my wife, telling her that I had agreed to this. When my wife denied this, she told my wife that it wasn't her problem if she has communication issues with me. They had no right to do this to our dog. And, anyway, a professional would contact me before removing all of her hair. I called an hour later, and asked to speak with the groomer to complain. I was told she was no longer in for the day. I asked the business to call me back. After leaving another message today, I've not heard back, and it's been 24 hours. It's obvious that they don't care what we think. You've been warned, and all you need to see are the pictures attached. They're good at removing all the hair from your dog, if that's what you're looking for. The defensiveness and unprofessional insults are thrown in for no additional charge.

They have a large fenced yard where the dogs can run and they spend time playing with them. We seldom leave her anywhere and they texted us pictures and updates and it was obvious she was well cared for and enjoyed her stay. The other places we had tried she kept to herself and at the Bark barn she was playing with the other dogs and was comfortable in the group. We definitely will use them again and have already recommended them to our friends.

They are that friend or family member that you know loves your pet, and would be happy to come over and take care of them. All while sharing some love. I trust them in my home unsupervised. We love the notations of how the visit went with our pets. We even had an occasion to sit down and discuss a week of multiple visits for a vacation. We just hated to board them, and no one was available. Plans freed up and our house sitter was able to come through. This does not deter from the fact that we were making plans to leave them solely in the trusted care of DD. Our house sitter was very happy that DD was able to care for the dogs twice during that week. They truly help to make your life run a bit smoother during a busy time.
