I tried using the card at the Effingham IL Walmart and was told it had a zero balance. Found out that someone in Oklahoma spent the balance even though I have the card in my billfold. Walmart will not replace or refund the money.

This new stand alone location has been around for a bit now but I have never gone in. Today was the…read moreday. I was expecting it to be so nice. But instead I got typical Dollar General. It seems bigger than the location on the other side of town, and no doubt bigger than the one it replaced, yet it still seems cluttered and unattended. So this was disappointing to me. It was well stocked, just not well kept. I think I'll keep frequenting the Main Street location in the future.

Three times I have been to the store in the morning when they open and nobody is there. I live…read moreright down the street so it's a very convenient location. I was told by an employee that the person is in there they are asleep in the back room and they don't wake up to open the doors. I think this is very irresponsible and very inconvenient for their customers to have to go all the way across town to the other Dollar General.

I have yet to find a Dollar General that gets a full 5 star. But this one does a pretty good job at…read morekeeping the place tidy. It's a bit cramped and definitely not as spacious as the one on the other side of town. But it seems like the employees must be better workers at this one because they keep it nicer.
