This is a SUPER busy Walmart. Probably one of the busiest Walmarts I've ever shopped at. That being said they are always well stocked and clean. The only issue I run into CONSTANTLY is the people putting together pickup orders being in the way. They literally block entire sections of the shelves on a regular basis. And a few of them have been incredibly rude. Another issue, also with pickup, is that they never have enough slots open during the early afternoon. And I've been shopping on the app to place a pickup order so many times and never end up going through with it because they don't have a time slot available before 7pm OR they don't have basics that I need available on the app (like milk bread and eggs) but when I walk into the store they have plenty of everything on the shelves. . read more

We ordered a 2nd set of Wrangler Duratracs for my Jeep. These same size tires were installed at this same store in 2019 without any issues. The order for tires was placed on May 23rd with the install date to be May 28th. My husband took my Jeep to this EC Walmart on the day of installation only to be told they weren't allowed to install an other than stock sized tire on my Jeep. Something to do with this particular store and a lawsuit. Our order was canceled & I received 3 emails-a cancel email because we missed our appointment (a LIE), an email saying some from Tires Nation would contact me (they never did) & the last email saying the tires were delivered to the wrong location. My husband immediately left this store & went to the new Discount Tire in EC who matched Walmart's price & installed them without any issue. So, imagine my surprise when I noticed the funds from the Walmart order of $1254 were withdrawn from our account-over a week later. 2 calls to Walmart.com customer service have failed to resolve this issue. I placed a fraudulent charge report against them with my bank (still waiting on them to get their own act together) and miraculously received a refund confirmation email for $313.61 on June 13th. Someone at either this store or online has STOLEN almost a thousand dollars from us & I'm starting to get angry. I spoke to yet another online person today who told me Tires Nation emailed me on 6-6 to request the order #. First off, why would they need an order number from me when they shipped & received the order & secondly, I never received an email from their 3rd party vendor. If I were you, I would NEVER order tires online or have tires put on here due to whatever happened causing an issue for others because you are likely to lose money. Get a quote & take it down the street to Discount Tire. I'll be calling Navy Federal to find out what their problem is with my dispute. I provided them all the documents they've requested. I'm going to give Justin 48 hours for billing to contact me. After that, I'm filing a claim with small claims court. I'm unemployed with nothing better to do. Walmart, you are not what you used to be, nor do you care about your customers. I can see why Amazon has stolen your business. Just like you stole my money!! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this Walmart location. I arrived for my grocery pickup and had to wait over one hour in my car. Several cars that arrived after me received their orders much faster, while I continued waiting with no explanation. This is completely unacceptable and very frustrating. If Walmart offers a pickup service, it should be organized, fair, and respectful of customers' time. Today's experience was the opposite. I am very angry and disappointed. read more

Ordered 2 tires, shipped to Walmart to have them changed, no surprise that in between the 15 people working not one had the skill or talent to change my tires. A huge disappointment on top of the fact that they walked around the tires for 15 minutes before saying they weren't reliever yet. Except they were, right there on the floor with my name on. It's Walmart - what else needs to be said! Very few of the people in the floor are knowledgeable or helpful. You're better off searching yourself because it's going to end up the blind following the blind. When you do get an employee to answer, it's like they never learned any kind of manners! Their attitudes are horrible and they make you feel like you are the biggest idiot for disturbing them. In Elizabeth City, your places to shop are very limited so I go to Walmart most the time out of necessity for the selection but I'd rather go to Kroger's in Chesapeake. read more

Standard Walmart nothing special. The only thing really different that I've noticed in this one verse others is that in this small town everyone seems to know everyone and when you're trying to go down a aisle they like to stop in front of you and have a conversation. I try to avoid Walmart as much as possible but with limited options in this town sometimes you don't have a choice. Also they seem to run out of produce frequently. Multiple times I have gone for produce or a ingredient and they'd be out of it whether it be thyme, poblanos, or some other type of produce. Those listed were just what was out on my last visit. So as much as I can say I don't like this or the anxiety the people give me because they have no sense of personal space I'll have to keep coming back because I'm not driving to Virginia for groceries. read more

Why are nearly ALL the shelves empty? went in to buy a set of sheets for my queen bed and hardly any to choose from, And the section with cooking things the same way. Had NO boxes of electric frying pans, And this has nothing to do with removing summer stuff and replacing fall and winter as I was told. Are you going out of business? What is your problem? Walmart in Elizabeth City, Nc is the worst of all Walmarts we go in, and unfortunately it's in our hometown. If we have a grocery list of appx. 15 items, without fail, they'll be out of 4 or 5 of them. We'll stop in almost any other Walmart, and they'll have the missing items, practically always. I'm talking about staple, everyday products we use all the time, not off the wall products. Recently I've called several times for their electronics dept and have never gotten an answer. I know the overall problem here is, they need management that cares about customers needs and satisfaction. If I could give negative stars I would. I have been dealing with this store and Walmart grocery for over a week and it has been beyond ridiculous. The worst customer service I have ever received. I did grocery pick up and items were missing, items were in my order that I didn't order, items were in my order which I removed, items were rotten, and there was RODENT hole in a bag of hot dog buns. The store's solution was to give me a $50 gift card- no apology, no sorry for the inconvenience, just me calling over and over again to try to get this resolved. Unacceptable. read more

Believe it or not, Super WalMart had a hand in my decision making for moving to the area! It's a great all around store that also offers many other services, finances included (wiring money, money gram, money orders, etc!). It's a marker of a developing area and I am encouraged to see it here. Staff and employees that I have interacted with have been helpful and pleasant. I haven't tried the grocery market section yet but that is to come...although they looked well-stocked! read more

Standard Walmart, but I give it 3 stars because it's relatively clean and organized compared to the ghetto Walmarts in Charleston, SC. Normally visit Walmarts for toy hunts. This Walmart finally carried some Black Panther Vibranium figs...had about 8 on the shelf. Even though West coast Walmarts had these many months earlier. Noticed that Walmart has been skimping on all the SW six inch Black Series figs lately. They used to be good about stocking up on them when new waves came out. But 2018 doesn't seem to be their year for carrying a good supply of latest SW Six inch Black Series. Target is the go-to spot as of late. They've been decent with stocking up on Marvel six inch figs. Just waiting for the Black Bolt and Submariner to go on sale so I can get the remaining pieces for Okoye. I can't bring myself to buy a half naked speedo wearing action fig at retail price. read more

Waited around in electronics for 25-30 mins for an associate. I asked 3 people for help they all had nasty attitudes and said "that's not my job" went on a man hunt for a manager explained the issue to him and he really didn't care. If you can, avoid this Walmart. Or order online! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE CENTER EXPERIENCE AT ELIZABETH CITY WALMART!!! Service manager johnnie benson was very rude when I asked for the status of my oil change and tire replacement after waiting two hours, my car was drained of oil within the first twenty minutes and was not touched for the next hour and 45 minutes. I stated when the ro was written I needed to be out by 11 (approx 2 hours) I was told that would be no problem it would be 1.5 hours max! I asked a clerk to check on my car, I walked around the back of the shop and when asked, chuck yelled I don't Care it's not my problem! The tire guys saved our schedule and possibly our lives this morning. On a Sunday morning, ready to start back home from vacay, we found a flat in the hotel parking lot. We were also trying to get to the Norfolk Naval shipyard for a timed harbor tour. Then we were heading part of the way home. We certainly could not have done it on a temp spare from the trunk. The radial was cut bad deep in a tread groove; unrepairable. These guys were open and put us a bit ahead and happened to have our size (don't usually carry it). Had us back underway in under an hour on a Sunday morning. Kudos to the whole crew for going above and beyond to get us back on the road on a new highway-worthy radial! read more

Beware people if you buy clothing at Walmart you cannot return it until the COVID-19 virus scare is over. I'm stuck with $154 worth of clothing that I cannot return. And they have no signs posted in the clothing department letting customers know this. However by the front register a very tiny little card states that apparel cannot be returned. This is misleading and I feel Miss lead by Walmart and taken advantage of. Nice way to mislead your customers. read more

If I could give the store a ZERO star for the worst customer service I would. I avoid Walmart as a general rule anyway, but this one in particular is terrible. It is chronically short staffed, the checkers are rude, and they are often out of things that I've needed. Today takes the cake. I stood in line at the customer service desk for well over 15 minutes while two customer service cashiers stood around, wandered back-and-forth, and did their best to look busy while doing nothing. The one gal working finally asked one of the other ladies to come and help her. She proceeded to take five minutes to explain why she couldn't do any money transactions for people, well those of us with returns stood there and waited for her to do nothing, yet again. When I finally got up to the register, I took my item out of the bag, after she rudely asked me if I had my receipt, to which I replied yes the receipt was stuck on the edge of the box of the item I was returning, and as I took it out of the sack, the receipt fluttered across the counter. The cashier quickly told me not to throw it at her. I asked if she meant the receipt that slipped out of the package, and she said yes. I said well I'm very sorry it floated toward you. If I never came back here that would make me very happy. read more

I went to this store to see if this location had any 2mg Nicolette gum. Something was odd with packing. 4 mg gum was in the 2mg boxes. One of them was covered with dust. Long story short. The gum made me sick and I come to find out after closer inspection, the dusty one has a 2020 expiration date and the other one that I started tasted like 4 mg, but just nasty tasting. I am amazed that a product this expensive are 2+ Years out of date. It's an over the counter medication now to quit smoking. I'm traveling so now I have to go back and do battle with them to get my money back and maybe they got some NEW FRESH GUM in. You have no idea how bad this gum tasted. I've been chewing mg gum for at least 6 years now so I should no better when something is obviously wrong. I'm so mad at them and myself for even having to deal with what could of been or still could be fatal not being a pharmacist or doctor, I don't know what to think? Scary though! read more

Overall it was nothing bad but not like all Walmart's are super nice and organized. I was trying to get my daughter some last minute stuff for her camp so we pulled into this Walmart and when we read the reviews we thought twice about it but decided just to go here. We walked in and of course there was a greeter nothing special we needed flip flops but the only sizes were four to five or eleven to twelve kid size, then we asked a manager where or if they had raincoats and he said (while looking at a map on his phone) they would be at n 22, so we went to the aisle and it ended up it was flashlights and camping stuff. And there ended up to be no raincoats, so don't go there if you need raincoats! read more

I have lived many places in Virginia and North Carolina, and while I am not super excited about Wal-Mart, the prices are good and they have all general items one may need (though for specialty items it is best to go elsewhere). Then there is the Walmart of Elizabeth City. I grew up here and I remember that all the stockers had their job done by the morning. The store isn't any bigger, but somehow you can see them start at 8pm and still are stocking at 10 the next morning. I wonder why it takes so long considering the shelves are constantly empty no matter when you go (late at night, early in the morning, in the afternoon, it doesn't matter). They are constantly out of many items at all times. I recall one time I was looking for a particular item. I checked the Walmart website and it showed it was in stock. I kept checking back for two weeks. What was the response each and every time? "It must be on the truck." Apparently the truck is just as slow as the employees. Like many have said, if there were other options in the area, I would certainly shop elsewhere. Lower prices are not worth it when you can only buy half of what you need. Tonight I picked up two items from produce and when the next three items I needed were found to be only empty shelves, I put my items back and left the store. I am not a big fan of Food Lion, but at least they are not as bad as the local Walmart. read more

This Walmart has been going down for a long time, most people that work there don't seem to care. Just last night (May 18) my wife and I were doing our weekly shopping, while my wife was trying to find some good vegetables I went to the meat counter the get some cooked ham. After standing there for a few minutes watching the 2 ladies behind the counter look at me finally one of them aproched me, told her I wanted some Cooked ham, before walking up to me she was cleaning something, when I told her what I wanted she grabbed it out of the fridge WITHOUT CHANGING HER GLOVES took it to a deep sink cut the wrapper open took the ham out and sat it on the sink !!! Then she picked it up and asked how much of it I wanted, told her to keep the ham. Immediately went looking for a Manager, explained what happened she said she was going to talk to her right away but she didn't. Will not go back to this Walmart, rather drive to VA. read more
