Typical Walmart that tends to be decently stocked. I never have a particularly good experience when I shop here, but I appreciate that they introduced the scan as you go through the app. There are almost no actual registers open and that people are funneled to self check out. However, Walmart has a reputation for coming at you if you screw up at the self check out. So, I always get real stressed because I am not a grocery scanning and bagging professional. They tend to have a pretty good variety, especially with Hispanic food and all of the staples. Last time I went a lot of their fruit and veg were out of stock, but that was likely due to the storm. They have a clearance aisle, but the price is in that aisle are not that impressive. Like all stores, prices have been rising dramatically. But, at least they're just a little cheaper than some of the others. Definitely not a nice shopping experience. Think of it as the spirit airlines of the grocery stores, but it works. They'll probably have pretty much everything you're looking for. read more

I came in for a few grilling items. They had everything. I wish that the disposable dinnerware was not opposite the grocery side of the store since they go hand in hand. The line also moved slowly even though it wasn't a long line. Prices are decent. read more

They have the worst customer service anywhere around. The will not answer the phone when you call. Pharmacy transfered my call they still didn't answer. I have a package they left at my door this morning with only a name on it,no address. I have called to let them know so they could get it to the correct person. But they won't answer the phone. Never take your car to Walmart for tires to get rotating cause I had a little piece of wood, they wouldn't change it cause they said there was a plug so I took my tires to my dealership and it was just a piece of wood that they could've took out would not have done anything to my tire they said that the Walmart employee just did not want to deal with it and that was two months ago. It's an African-American man don't take your car to him cause he will the littlest thing if you have a piece of tape on something or if there's a problem that looks like it's sticking out he's scared to even investigate to see what's going on so it's not even worth your time or your money because the time he even looks at anything, it's already been an hour when it's time for you to receive your car I would never bring my car back to Walmart. Hands-down, this is the absolute worst grocery pick-up service that I have ever experienced. Please note, this review only pertains to the Kernersville store, as I have never had bad service at any other store - at least for pick-up. My order was for 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM yesterday. Over the course of 2 hours, I had 4 associates tell me that my order was not ready, but they couldn't give me an ETA. As they had both my grocery money AND my groceries held hostage, I felt compelled to stay and wait. The pick-up line went to voicemail the entire time. At the 2-hour mark, I called the store to see if I could get some assistance. After a 20-minute wait, an unidentified female manager (who was very nice) told me that my order was currently being picked and that it would be at least another hour. I asked if I could pick up my groceries tomorrow, as I could not wait another hour. She said that I could come back, so I left. At 8:35 PM, I was texted that my order was ready, but I was unable to return to the store. Today, I got here at 5:45 PM. It's 6:50 PM now. The associate who answered the phone told me he would "get to it when he could" and the second associate told me it would be awhile because "yesterday's orders were pushed behind today's". As this is 2 days in a row, I can only conclude that the PickUp Department here is a complete sh*t show. If I'd had the luxury of waiting 3 days for a refund, I would absolutely have gone somewhere else - anywhere else. Employees of Walmart on main st need to find another job because they are worthless and is a HUGE inconvenience to help a customer. We were told in electronics about a service with a product. Got to the checkout in the front (yeah a real live person) and she didn't know anything. Two employees were sitting on the bench in front of the register, I ask them, they said they didn't know!!! Believe it or not, that 3rd star is a bonus star. In my experience, and biased opinion, Walmarts are a necessary evil. There's times when you just need some cheap sh...tuff and Walmart is convenient and cheap. That being said, most WMs are a big disappointment to me in that the shelves appear to only get stocked once a month or less. Of all the stores in the Winston Salem area, this one seems to suck slightly less than the others, with the exception of the Peters Creek store which is the best of the bad. This store is usually pretty clean, I can plan that most times when I get there it'll have what I'm looking for, and the staff is mostly helpful. Walmart Kernersville I just left the Walmart in Kernersvillle and had such a disturbing experience with a so called manager or 'lead' named Rico. I found a young boy crying in Walmart by himself and who had gotten lost from his mother. I walked him to one employee who said take him to customer service, I take him to customer service and went through three different people to have the boys mother paged. After a few minutes, I'm trying to calm the child down because he's crying inconsolably. One of the employees looked over and said 'Rico said to wait before calling the Mom.' Why in the hell would someone wait to page that boys mother? Even another employee questioned it. He was standing there with me for 5 min. crying for his mother?! I asked the employee should I take the boy to find his mother myself which I did. Rico finally walks up to me and basically accuses me of kidnapping the child. Excuse me, you weren't worried about the child 10 min ago! Rico was rude, raised his voice at me and was plainly incompetent at handling the situation. Walmart really needs to rethink who they have hired to be in charge of staff and the face of their store. read more

Whenever there's an issue with my order, no matter how many attempts or rings or departments tried, nobody ever answers the phone. Then when you drive all the way back to speak to customer service, they immediately put it back on you without helping you troubleshoot in person unless you press them to. I had bought a Google Home for my mom for Christmas. Come Christmas morning she opens it to be a can of Ragu sauce. We where not only devastated but furious, that there "unopened packaging return policy". Had lead them not to check to see if the product was still there. We of course took it back to the same store to not return it but exchange it. The person at the service desk didn't even ask or considered to help us. We did get ahold of corporate. Who did help us and made them exchange it for us. They made us open the box when it was exchanged to make sure it was in there. I get home today to find a 24 pack of dog food only had 18 packs in it. Cant return it. I picked up a taped box that was suppose to have a hair bun band in it, I shook it to feel nothing rattling. I opened it and found nothing at all in it. I didn't buy it, I put it down open so no one would buy it. I made sure the camera could see I took nothing out. I didn't give it to a worker only because they have a bad habit of accusing people of stilling. I can not trust this store to have the product in the packaging. Always open things right after you buy them, if you must purchase from this store. read more

First I'd like to say I've lived all over the country and shopped at many different Walmart locations. But this location in Kernersville is hands down the worst of them all. If they had no management it would be better than the current management and that's a understatement. If this is your Walmart please don't sign up for the subscription that is $99 a year for home delivery. They'll just take your money and never deliver your stuff. We always tip $20 to the driver on the couple times out of a dozen we actually got our stuff. When you call it will take hours to get anyone to answer from any department. They will just pick up the phone and hang up over and over. Had corporate call and they did the same thing to them several times. And if you get to leave a message with a manager they won't call you back regardless. To charge you a fee of $99 for a service and then never get your stuff or the service should be illegal. Never had this problem with amazon or Lowe's Foods. Please avoid this service or Walmart unless you want to get your stuff 1 out of 10 times. I've been trying for going on 4 days to get a order and keep getting promised the next day. I highly recommend filing a complaint through corporate if this is happening to you. Maybe eventually they'll replace the management with someone that knows how to run a store. Cause employees answer for 4 straight hours and hanging up is not the way to manage a company!!! I never leave reviews unless they are good but this is just to much and people need to know so they don't go through the same thing. Also call the 1-800 number and let them know and they will refund you for your order and subscription you paid for. To be clear I've never had any of these problems with other locations only the Kernersville NC location. I want to note that it's not the driver's fault. They work for another company and have to wait an hour or more at the store to get your order even after it's prepared by an employee. They're not allowed to go inside and get it. So it's not their fault so when you do get your order please still tip the drivers. read more

The worst Walmart in North Carolina. The worst employees I've ever seen in my 60+ year life. I will do anything to avoid this place and convince others to do the same. There are isles with so much stuff on the floor you can't even push a cart through while a group of congregating obnoxious "workers" just stand by. I had to speak to a manager and he belittled me and made me feel so bad just for voicing my concerns. He was very rude and completely inconvenienced by the 20 seconds I needed to speak to him. His only words to me aside from his initial greeting were "you don't have to come back here", then he turned his back to me and walked away! His name was Michael and if he's a store manager then the reason the store is in the state it's in makes perfect sense. read more

I guess Walmarts and me don't mix like oil and water. I come here since it's very close to my residence. Don't like it when it takes forever to checkout because there are 2 or 3 lanes open. I am in love with the new grocery pickup! The staff is amazing! I am saving so much time by ordering online and picking up without leaving my vehicle! The best part is if they do not have a brand you wanted in stock they will substitute it and you are not responsible for the difference in price (for example I ordered a generic item that was not in stock and received a name brand instead and did not have to pay the higher price! How cool is that?). I am so impressed with the friendliness of the staff who load my groceries! So sweet! Thank you Walmart for providing this service free of charge! read more
