I had an issue with my cell phone, so I asked the guy who has long, dark brown hair parted in the middle for help because he was wonderful & helpful to me when I bought a new laptop a few months ago. The Walton family must need another billion dollars! I never thought I'd see the day that Kroger would have cheaper prices than Walmart. However, I just saw that day. Everyone knows you don't go to Walmart for good customer service or high quality items. Most of the storm sells inferior items made in the country that produces the worst quality on the planet-China! Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I received, I called, there was no greeting just an "can I help you" I asked for the deli, the employee stated "is there anything I can help you with" I responded that not unless they can assist with placing an order. The employee told me the deli is closed, I said ok what are their hours. The woman's response was telling me to call back tomorrow the store opens at 6. I again asked what are the deli's hours because online it says 9a-9p which I called around 7:45. The woman moved her phone away from her face and asked another person to "make this woman understand they are closed" A man came onto the phone and asked how he can help and I again asked what the deli's hours are so I can call back tomorrow. They told me 8a-8p. I'm not upset that the hours online were wrong, I'm upset that I have called for the same information all day and only spoke to people once and they were rude and minimally helpful. read more

So I purchased two tires online with my W+ membership and scheduled to have them put on my car. I arrived and everything was good, so I wandered about the store while they worked. I received a phone call shortly from the auto center asking me if I wanted the tires on the front or back. I said the front because the back ones were practically new. They then told me that it was Walmart policy to only install 4 tires on an AWD vehicle. So I said "So if I pulled in here with one flat, and bought a new tire you wouldn't mount, balance and put it on for me?" to this I got a blank stare showing just how ludicrous this policy is. I left with a full refund for the tires, but if you only want one to three tires, stay away from Walmart, they will upsale you into something that you don't want or need. read more

This Walmart is one of cleanest that I've visited. It's clean, stocked and organized. Every employee that I've encountered on a visit have been pleasant and smiling. Which is completely different to my experience with the store in my area (Evendale). That store is dirty and the majority of the staff are unfriendly, if not outright surly. I was in the Middletown store yesterday and again was struck by the huge difference in the upkeep of the store and the friendly workers compared to Evendale's store. Walmart is Walmart....right? I mean none of us ever walk in there with high expectations. But this location is absolutely one of the fkn WORST. They NEVER answer phone calls. Doesn't matter what department you want, they don't answer. You can't make contact with them. You have to physically drive down there to make contact with anyone. Employees are beyond incompetent. We purchased a ring from them, and needed to get it resized. On the spot we worked with an employee to double check the ring size we'd need using their sizers. Employee was notified by us & agreed with us that we'd need a size 6. So we pay, and they send the ring off. 6 weeks later with no contact from the store, we decided to drive up there and see if it was back and ready. It was. But not as a 6. They had sized it up to a 7 1/2. We waited 6 weeks to get a ring that wasn't even right. They were vaguely apologetic & offered to send it off again, we refused and demanded an immediate refund. If Walmart is going to charge me the same price for groceries as the grocery store, tell me to check my own self out, then why have an elderly woman holler at me across the way to check my receipt? Then she goes through the motion of checking everything and says ok. I get to my vehicle and realize I left a bag of items that I paid for at the self register. So did the lady really ensure I had what I paid for? Or was she only checking to see if I paid for what I had. This is one of the worst Walmarts I've been to in a long time. It's layout is confusing and I have to say the employees here are more rude and less helpful than any I've encountered in a while. This was one of those stores with 1,000 lanes, but only two of them are open...you know what I mean? Also, this location does not have any self checkout lanes at all which I was surprised by. I ran in to grab a carton of eggs since I was grabbing dinner nearby, and I felt like half the light bulbs were burnt out and that I was wondering around aimlessly trying to find my way you the egg section. I waited in the pick up area for my groceries for two hours. TWO HOURS. I called customer service at least ten times with no answer. I selected the option to call the pick up department and got no answer. I then went inside and no one at the customer service desk was to be found. I have not received a refund for my groceries that I never received. I can understand that it was a Friday night and it was busy. But it doesn't take a scientist to notice that the same car has been sitting in the same spot for that long. Definitely won't be going here again for pick up. read more

The website shows they have pool filters in stock however after driving 30 minutes to get there found out they don't have anything in stock. Their inventory levels are not correct per the website management is aware of it they know that they also show they have swimming pools in stock on the website however they have none in stock. To Walmart management carry more pool filters. read more

Where to begin with this store. 1) Always long lines at registers 2) No help available, you need to run around the store to find an employee just to get some paint 3) Produce is typically bad 4) Milk is always close to expiration date 5) Customer Service has long lines 6) No one is at the Money gram desk during normal business hours 7) Most customers who shop at this location is either on some type government assistance, haven't taken a shower in days, on some type of drug, or is stealing something from the store 8) This store Is always in the Middletown Journal for Police calls for having stuff stolen from it or some type of argument going on. 9) Employees are disgruntled by the lack of hours they get, and always being short on staff. 10) Merchandising and Shelves are typically mess and empty. Most people in Middletown stay away from this location, and instead shops at the Meijer, or Target near by, and if they need to go to Wal-Mart they will drive up I-75 to Franklin to shop where it is nicer. Personally I am surprised Wal-Mart has not shut down this store due to the crime, like it did with the Trotwood Ohio location. read more

The previous review gives you a decent idea of what to expect with this store, but it has since went even further downhill. Upon walking into the store, almost 90% of the time, you will notice there are only about 10-15 carts left, due to the rest of them being scattered around in the parking lot. This is at any time of the day or night. (Keep in mind store is open 24/7.) No excuse. The produce section always has a horrid odor and flies are all over the place. I personally do not shop at Wal-Mart for groceries due to higher prices than other places, so I can't speak on the quality of their products. The floors are almost always dirty; black, sticky/oil stains are all over the place. The overall look of the place is horrible. Things everywhere, in any department are in complete disarray. Clothes are left in the floor, unfolded, thrown over racks, bras left wadded up and out of their packages, socks missing pairs and scattered randomly everywhere nearby. As you continue through the store you'll notice in certain departments, the lack of attention to organization is worse than others. Specifically in the personal care/pharmacy area. Things are all over the place. Shelves full of clutter, random things from all over the store line the shelves, nothing is where it should be, bottles are tipped over, items in the floor. I mean I could really go on and on about the poor quality of appearance at this location, that really makes me wonder why I should bother spending a penny in the place when they aren't even concerned with the upkeep of their merchandise. As if the stuff thrown everywhere wasn't bad enough, they will leave the palettes that have wheels that carry the boxed goods from the stock room to the shelves, in the middle of aisles. They're there at any time of the day or night. On top of them there are always tons of cardboard boxes, opened with goods inside, usually hanging over the edge of the palette. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to squeeze through an aisle (main aisles included) to get past these and ended up tripping because of the boxes hanging off the sides. It's a hazard and they don't seem to mind. Now for what really kills the entire shopping experience. The employees. You will never find one in sight and if you do, consider yourself lucky. Although, you can't be too lucky when they talk down to you, act as if they are too busy to speak, blatantly ignore you, OR are literally sleeping while propped against a shelf. The employees have no idea what customer service is and I've yet to come across more than MAYBE 2 employees that are friendly. This is over the entire span of this location being open. There is at most, two lanes to be checked out in at any day or time of the week. Including the busier nights being Friday and Saturday evenings, where I have seen lines go straight back and past the clothing department, near electronics. Saving on money by not hiring more than 2-3 employees to run registers and making you wait 20-40 minutes in a line. You wait all this time in line to get to the register and the cashier is rarely friendly. I cannot remember the last time I was greeted when I walked up, nor the last time I was thanked and told to have a good day/evening. Instead, you have a blank, idiotic and miserable stare down as the cashiers scan your items at the speed of a tortoise. Only the busiest nights, it seems they have the slowest and the most ignorant of employees working the registers, just to give you the final cherry on top of your already unpleasant shopping experience. I've been through several states and a lot of different Wal-Marts and I have NEVER encountered such a disgusting and foul store other than right here in Middletown. If you have the gas, drive to West Chester, Franklin, Centerville, any other surrounding Wal-Mart. You will be thankful you did. To comment on the customers, the previous review is spot on. To say the majority of their customers AREN'T degenerates is pushing it. There are people screaming at their kids, kids screaming/crying - even throwing things, impatient assholes trying to jump the long wait lines, filthy creatures that shouldn't leave their house - let alone step foot in public. There are all types of people that come in here, but the vast majority are ill mannered, drug ridden, oblivious, thieving scum. I'm contemplating sending pictures of this place to Wal-Marts headquarters, because it's filthy and their customer service is even worse. I leave this Wal-Mart each time..livid. Don't waste your time with this Wal-Mart, save yourself the time and upset and go elsewhere. read more

This is one of the worst wallmarts I've been too. They never have lanes open but maybe two and you have to wait forever to get checked out. They also don't stock enough of things. If you want a new released movie but are three days late don't bother going they more than likely won't have it in stock. They take forever for car service too. The Trotwood location was relocated because of expansion issues first. Now this store was opened with no (at the time) current Wal-Mart employees from other stores, this was a marketing mistake from the beginning and they have never been able to recover. Since then the culture has never been right. This is a very hard store to manage and (as a former assistant manager) if they are sending you here it's a career-death sentence. The employees used to run the place with very little enthusiasm from all the empty promises from store managers. The people who work there are good people, the culture and flow of things never seemed to be right. Now it's a lost leader. They have too much invested for market share against the competition driving- customers to Franklin might be part of the strategy, one way or another they'll get your money. read more
