The Sports section is always a hassle. If it weren't for the fact that it's the only place around that sells ammunition or other similar items then I wouldn't go. I always spend aboit 15-30 minutes waiting for someone to show up and open the cage, and then I always have to wait even more for them to find someone with a FOID card (theres only one person) because they are not aware of store policies. read more

I was shopping for storage Tots in Olympia Field IL and all there was lids into which I needed. I brought the items to cashier. She went to ask a manager and was not seen for 15 minutes. She came back and told me "they will not sell me just the lids" I told them there are no containers to be found all there are is lids. She said, "No we will not sell the lids alone to you" I went to find the General manager of the store. I asked a few services clerks. My return remarks were.." I don't know where he is" "Can You find him/her for me please? " Remarks. Ah, humm. It might take a while" I saw they had 2way radios! Yup. Absolutely no one was willing to speak to me or help me!! The overall experience I've had with WalMart in Illinois for the last 2 years every time I go, the items I am looking for are gone. I'll return the day if delivery. Still no items to be found. Miles of shelf space empty. WalMart has lost my business! Will a Walmart promotions executive ever reach out to me. I will not hold my breath. They lost my trust. This location is a decent location. Some annoyances are just a Walmart thing. There are still crowds and hundreds of registers with no one to work them. Self checkout has bodies in uniforms but no one to direct you to the appropriate machine that accepts your chosen method of payment. Instead, they watch you go from register to register until you find the one you need. You'd think by now they'd label the registers somehow but that would be not only convenient but good customer service so it'll never happen. There's a new annoyance here and that's splitting the same category of item between isles. For example you won't find cans of diced tomatoes and canned tomatoes paste in the same area. I was there yesterday and as usual when you see the workers and they see you coming, they try to go in a different direction for the Most I was in the garden center 5 or 6 peoples was working over there will just said he was over there. UPDATED REVIEW (December 6, 2016) Improving. (OCTOBER 2016, one month after opening): It's so sad to see this store declining so fast. I stopped in for a few quick items and decided to make a pit stop, only to find the weekends bathroom in disarray. I immediately went to a manager asks explained that the ladies restroom needed cleaning. Quickly, she called out for someone to clean it. This was all fine and good. However, imagine my surprise when I went in at checkout to see the progress of the cleaning and was met with an even more chaotic situation. First, it's just sad when trifling people ruin something because they apparently lack home training for using the bathroom in public facilities. Second, I was greatly disappointed that the unclean bathroom was not corrected after an hour. If that person worked for me he would be fired, our at least put on report. Still, the height of my frustration cans from my second request to two managers standing at a checkout as I came from the still dirty restroom, both brushed me off with a quick nod and a patronizing "uh huh". The store in general is still new looking and the workers are in general still very friendly and helpful, but this thing today just baffled and saddened me. If you want a nice looking store then you have to keep it clean. Other businesses will hesitate to come to the area if the community becomes known for trashing businesses. This I speak to my shopping neighbors and to the managing Walmart staff. Some may say that the bathroom issues are minor or being blown out proportion, but whatever is done or allowed behind doors becomes habit and practice for other common areas without correction. It is indeed a SUPER STORE with all of the trimmings. They have groceries (including an excellent variety of non-meat frozen items), clothes, electronics, paper goods, automotive, and so much more. The new Olympia Fields location is not 24 hours, at least that's what the last person told me (new workers still being acclimated to the new store also). The last person, I believe she was a manager said that the store is open from 6am to midnight, which is good for me since anything before 6am is sleep time. As with app new things, everything is clean, including the bathrooms. I will definitely change my review of this becomes an issue. You can enter the lot from Western or from Lincoln Highway, another convenience. As a nearby resident, I am looking forward to the holiday sales and using their HUGE parking lot to run laps, maybe walk, but it's on a nice sized piece of property and will no doubt greatly help to revive the local economy by drawing other big box companies to the area. Dear this particular Walmart. You deserve 0 stars. I received a pick-up-ready notice yesterday. My husband came to pick up our order and your staff suggested that he needed to return the next day at 6:30am. I'm here now. Your staff says, we don't open until 8pm. I explained our experience from yesterday. They were unapologetic and demonstrated an extremely careless attitude towards me, the customer. Not to mention there was only one cashier open. Your staff's explanation was that it was too early. The customer service rep came over at 8am. She's clearly unhappy about something. I shouldn't notice this....right? Theresa (customer service manager) was pissed. Asia was a pleasant greeter to the customers who waiting behind me. Now I'm being helped by another Teresa. Now Fara has surfaced to help. Btw, I paid for track shoe spikes. The track meet is in less than an hour. The order confirmation suggested that the order would be here YESTERDAY. I have an email confirmation. Asia just returned to the counter delivering excellent customer service and multiple apologies. It's 8:12 and Fara has offered to go to the back to look for the package. read more

As far as Super Walmarts go, this one is hit or miss. If you go in the morning the parking lot is a cart graveyard and it is a hazard to park. The cart returns are full and the handicap spaces are filled abandoned carts. The sad thing is there are plenty of employees in the morning. Most of them are stocking the shelves or socializing. Even thought they are rather busy in the morning, only self check out is open and if you are lucky one register. I wish I could say this an isolated incident but it is a regular occurrence. However if you go on the weekends, the carts are usually well managed and there are plenty of registers open. The employees are scarce, because they are actually working the register and/or in their departments. I love shopping in the morning during the week...but not there. read more

Unfortunately, I avoid this Walmart location. Even if I need just 1 item, I will drive to another one. Some of the female employees here can be very rude with bad attitudes, and I think how can that be if you are working in customer service? One time, I entered the self check out lanes because I did not have a lot of items and wanted to ring up my own items. Each item I rung up had the wrong price (as a friendly tip, take a photo of the price of your items because the shelf price says one price while the register price is much higher). So the first time, I called over the female employee I spotted and when she looked at me, she rolled her eyes as if I was "bothering her" but I could tell from where she was positioned, the self check out lanes was a part of her job :|. She comes over, does not speak when spoken to and as I am showing her the price was wrong, she says nothing but looks at my phone and enters it in and walks away. I am a pretty high tolerance person so I shrugged it off and said under my breath "I hope I don't have to bother you again." Sure enough, another item rung up wrong, and then another and another. Each time, I could sense her anger building and the last time, she rudely spoke and said "Move over so I can change it." Why did she say that. I immediately addressed her rudeness and told her I can have someone else help me since it seems to be troubling for you. She literally gets into an argument with me, yelling and talking loudly while I calmly searched for another employee and asked if the manager could come over. I hate being the person to tell on people, but there was no way I was going to allow this person to disrespect me and I was nothing but nice to her. I explain to the manager what happened and she immediately agreed with me that the female employee was in the wrong and she apologized for her actions. From the time I paid for my items to the time I arrived home, I promised myself to never visit this location again, even if I need 1 small item. Customer service is everything, and it really baffles me when people like this employee interviews for customer service jobs and say they are customer service oriented. I shop at various Walmarts in the area at least once a week. Normally I am in this Walmart on Sunday afternoons and the shelves are empty. I can never find what I want they are out of it most of the time. Lines are always long at the registers so dont plan on stopping here if you are in a hurry. read more

Messy cluttered aisles, stocking carts blocking access to shelves, shelves & freezer cases that are empty, tons of merchandise in the wrong spots, horribly apathetic & downright unfriendly employees, 2 registers open......with about 5-8 people in each line & only one side of the self checkout lanes open n it was PACKED. I was shopping last night with my daughter and a lady hit me with her scooter , she is so argumentative and never even say sorry to me or even excuse me before she run over me by the grocery scooter that she is driving , I let the staff at front to let them know bec the lady left so fast with scooter instead they call the police hanging around outside and by the time she's gone , they tried to look at the cctv and let me wait until it's been so long and all they say is that I should run after her the lady and took her information bec they will not be responsible with what happens and that's not their worker that hit me inside the store , all I want is for them to get my information bec my knees are so hurting now and my hips too ! I asked if they have ice and they say No ! No associate or manager in duty they say that's was like 630 pm last night . I called today and been waiting at my phone for almost 25 mins waiting for them to transfer me to the manager on duty to make a conplain , until I decided to hang up . I won't shop at Walmart anymore ! So bad that they never even asked if I'm okay or not ! Never offered if I need help and no ice . This Walmart has gone terrible. I was just here this early afternoon to grocery shop and the shelves were pretty much empty. Nothing was stocked and they had 8-day expired milk on the shelves. During the checkout line this lady closed her lane as she was ringing me out because her shift ended. The first one is the fact that they won't price match, Ive never heard of a Walmart that doesn't price match. I really like this Wal-Mart! The times I've come in, it looks neat and clean, and the staff here (especially in comparison with the Crestwood Wal-Mart staff) are nice and friendly and... They do their job! The workers here either are or to a good job of seeming to be happy working here, and happy to greet and provide customer service. I hope this is something that remains. I didn't give a full 5 stars because one day I spoke with 2-3 different staff members about finding a product, and was sent off and told they probably don't carry that product. Wow this store is spanking brand new. I am so happy that those people without jobs are abled to work and perhaps ATTEND school. I was in this particular store today and I must say that the young people that work there were very pleasant and friendly. However I must say that I will never spend another red penny in this particular sTore, simply because you have a police on both doors as though we are in the hood. That is simply A SLAP IN OUR FACES and a turn off and disrespectful to us middle to upper class people. You are say-ing that you do not trust Blacks I understand. Well I will say to you, if you are going to put Olympia-Field's Police on both doors PLEASE ensure that they know how to interact with the public. They would not dare stick police at both entrances in the SOUTH. I though the North wwas progressive. I think not. Very backwards. THIEVES Last night I went shopping and it was raining hard. I am disabled and could take my umbrella or my cane with me. I chose the umbrella which I put in my cart. I did my shopping and left the cart in the wide aisle so I could walk between a thin aisle, I turned around and my cart was gone. That umbrella was expensive. But who would take a loaded cart? I think an associate did and hid the cart in the back. They said they had cameras and to call back at 6:30 a.m. the next morning. They had no information for me. Disabled people get taken advantage of easily. I won't be shopping with thieves again. What happened to the items in the cart that I was going to buy? That is the biggest clue to think about. One of the BEST Walmart's I have been at in the southeast suburbs. The manager's here are doing something right. EVERY time I have come to this location to shop, employees I have come in contact with have offered to help or assist. I shop at this Walmart at least once a week. The employees also greet you. It's also kept clean. I have stopped shopping at the Walmart in the town I live in because it is filthy and employees rude. I have NEVER experienced a bad employee at this Walmart. Right down the street from my mother in laws house. I like this store. It's still clean and the associates are quite friendly, especially when compared to the ones in Richton Park. The ones in RP must be transplants from the old Matteson store in bringing their poor attitudes with them. I get plenty of hello's and good mornings when I come here. This is also one of the few Walmarts where there were enough cashiers. I was there and the lines started building up, the cashier supervisor made the cashiers aware of that and I believe it put a little urgency in their step. Aisles are always clean and items well stocked. The clothing department is clean and that says a lot because that's usually the department that needs the most attention. As for security or associates asking for receipts, I don't have an issue with that. In fact, I go straight to them with my receipt out, they take a quick peek, smile and say have a good day. Takes about 2 seconds. If you live between this store and the Richton Park store, definitely spend your money at this one. That store is just the Matteson store on a larger level and that's not a good thing. read more

I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but, I have so much to say about my experience at this Walmart and can't do it in 25 words or less. This Walmart, to be so new, is a great disappointment and I dread going there. In fact, I think today is the last time. It's hard to find someone to assist you and when you do they are very often rude or dismissive. Today, I asked an associate for the price of the Rainier cherries. She stared at them like she had never seen them before, then she mumbled something and went into the stock room. She was gone for ten whole minutes. Actually, she never returned. Another associate opened the door to come out and I could see that he, associate #1, and a third person was engaged in a conversation about breaks, starting time, etc. In another recent trip, I happen to stop an associate as she was passing by to ask her a question. She never stopped walking nor did she look me in the eye as she responded, "I guess so". I asked, "is that a yes?" and she just kept walking. A pharmacist happen to observe the exchange and, to my surprise, when the associate walked back (I was still there trying to find answers on my own) he asked, "Why are you being rude to the customer?" I find that overall, the associates lack knowledge about products, do not have a sense of urgency, and socialize a lot. They act like you're imposing on them when you ask them something. There are exceptions, of course, and occasionally I meet an associate that actually looks at me and asks how I'm doing. It's so refreshing and I always thank them for asking, but overall, I feel customer service is simply not a priority at this store. The shelves are poorly stocked except for stuff on the end caps or aisle displays. Many times I have gone in to find gaping holes in the shelves and no one to ask if there is more in stock. The self-checkout is a joke. There are several stations but they are filthy and awkwardly designed. The checkout process is not necessarily simple or fast. Something frequently goes wrong that requires the associate's attention and there is only one associate who runs around station to station putting out fires while you stand there waiting your turn. Prices on shelves are lower than what it rings up as. Prices are higher than other Walmarts in the area and they keep raising their prices. Police presence is insulting and pointless, but apparently that is their arrangement with the town of Olympia Fields. The younger workers, (cashiers, customer service) seem to be very lethargic when helping customers. The older the worker, the better the level of attentiveness and service. read more

Some of the workers at this location are very unprofessional tonight I had a problem with a associate at the self check out In i was checking out , she comes over saying something's not right in i had asked her what did she mean in she was basically saying I didn't scan all my items and the basket in I did so I told her to cancel the items so I can show her, she did in there were other people asking for help as well in she's next to me trying to harassing me for no reason so I'm scanning the items again in my total was 72.01 so she watched me scan all my items and gone tell me something is wrong its supposed to be 90 something dollar but my right total was 72.01in she's steady trying to argue with me about a total she made up in her head but I scanned everything on the scanner in it says 72.01.
