Car Breakdown: My…read morecar suddenly stopped working. I had towed to Canadian Tire at Preston Crossing. I left my key with them for inspection and repair stating that i don't know anything about car, please do proper diagnosis and solve the issue. Initial Diagnosis & Repair: Next day, I were informed the battery and alternator needed replacement. I paid the bill, and Canadian Tire replaced both the battery and alternator. Post-Repair Issues: After replacement, the dashboard showed "++" sign and brake warning light. I immediately called Canadian Tire and brought the car back. They admitted the issue was due to a faulty alternator. Car was still drivable, and they said they would replace the alternator with a company alternator. Long Waiting Period: You waited for about 3 months for the replacement. Canadian Tire finally replaced the alternator Continued Problems: After replacement, same dashboard warnings appeared again, along with more warning lights and check engine light. After 3 months of waiting, problem was not resolved. Final Response from Canadian Tire: They told me to take the car to the dealership. Then many questions come in my mind. Is Canadian Tire a trial and learning center for customer vehicles? Why was a thorough and accurate diagnosis not done ? Why did the car show the same issues even after replacing with an alternator? Is it responsible for Canadian Tire to simply say "take it to a dealer" after months of failed repair attempts? Who is liable if an accident happens due to the car being in an impaired or unsafe condition? Where is my right to accurate information about the diagnosis? Where is my right to seek redress for poor service or faulty parts? Where is the accountability for the time, money, and stress caused?
