The trails were clean and scenic, with towering trees that made us feel like we were in Tahoe. We spotted some lifelike animal statues along the way and enjoyed a relaxing 2-mile loop past playgrounds and open fields. The fresh air and serene surroundings made it perfect for biking or just clearing your mind. Highly recommend this spot for a refreshing outdoor escape!

From the Davis Commons, there is an entrance to the trail which follows a small creek to the UC Davis campus. The beginning is paved, so you can even push your baby along in a stroller. Along the way are plants and flowers of different varieties, small bridges, a grove of towering trees, and mallard duck couples obviously bonded for life! There is plenty of shade, benches, and spots to rest, but the full loop is about 3.5 miles, which would also make for a phenomenal run with Mother Nature.

It lasted about half an hour and was almost directly over our heads. The crowd included all ages, families, students, seniors, either walking, biking or driving over to enjoy the show. There we're a few venders selling drinks, candies, cotton candy, etc, mostly fund raisers for local groups. I saw at least two tables for local theater groups, Barnyard Productions (actually held in an old barn outside of town) and Davis Musical Theater, promoting their current production of Hairspray, which I was lucky enough to see last weekend. This was a small town celebration and was not commercialized though. The park includes a pool, tennis courts, and I heard a skate park too, along with all the grass and trees to enjoy. It takes up a city block approximately. It is located right next to Davis Senior High School, close enough the students there can enjoy it too.

This is a very nice & unique park with lots of space…read more We missed out on getting here in time for the Farmers Market that was shutting down, but enjoyed the different play areas with little one. There is a farm-themed structure, an older area, and a newer area. Some of the playground equipment were things not usually seen or that I've never seen, such as a contraption to dig in the small sand area. I also noted that the newer area was built with inclusivity in mind. Some really nice aspects are that there's a large covered cemented area, some picnic tables & benches, and lots of grass. There's a neat manually-powered carousel with suspended animals to ride on that was operating for a fundraiser. There are also musical activities. We were able to spend a lot of time here enjoying being outdoors while little one played on everything.

Covell Blvd and Grande Ave in North East Davis…read more There are plenty of things to do here from running the paved bike trail, walking your fur friend, BBQing, and much more. The grass is green and the trees are trimmed. Its just a peaceful little park. Its very busy in the mornings, kind of dead in the afternoon, but picks up in the late afternoon. A simple short cut for students riding their bikes to DHS or UCD. There is tons of parking around this park. The best places to park is on Del Oro Ave, Baja Ave, and Catalina Dr. Those three places offer the best parking situations for you. There are other places that allow you to park and walk into the park, but parking can get a little tight with residential parking taking up most of the room. You can find those places at Jalisco Pl, Bella Case Ave, Ipanema Pl, Huerta Pl, Cortez Ave, Encina Ave, El Cajon Ave, Faro Ave, Anza Ave and Guaymas Pl. With all those places listed you should be able to find a way into the park. This the park has a total of 12 benches scattered all around so people can sit and enjoy the park. There are also 8 trash can located at different parts of the park to help keep it clean. There are also 2 play structures located inside the park. Pretty modern playground stuff, Swings, slides, different level on the structures itself. There is two tennis courts located by the restroom and water fountian. With two bike racks next to the tennis courts too. Wanting to BBQ, there are two BBQ's in the park, both have picnic tables close to them. As of right 09/25/17, They mow and blow off the walk trails on Thursdays, The tennis courts get blown off on Tuesday, Bathrooms are checked daily but get cleaned on Monday and Fridays. Trash cans get dumped on Mondays and Fridays but are checked daily.
