Although it was not the lavender season they had plenty of other beautiful flowers blooming. Really enjoyed seeing some farm animals, walking around the farm, tasting their various lavender infused tea and ice cream. They also have a shop that sells lavender skincare products, and manuka honey. I wish I can come back here in December for their lavender bloom! The service was ultra friendly and helpful. Loved chatting with the employees about the farm. Seriously, if you are in Wanaka you must stop by here!

If you are in the area, this is a MUST DO! The place is amazing. The employees are GREAT - super helpful. The grounds are pristine and gorgeous and clean and everything smells like the best lavender you can imagine. The alpacas, cows, goats, sheep, etc. were all kept in very clean areas and were fun to get to see. Lots of artwork hidden around the place. If I lived nearby, I would have a lifetime membership and just hang out in the gardens to take in the beauty of the place. Delightful experience. Did I mention the GIFT SHOP! LOVE!

I love lavender, so when I discovered this lavender farm, I was in heaven! There is a $2 entrance fee to explore the gardens, which I highly recommend. I came just as they lavender was being harvested, so I did not get to see the rows of purple fields, but you could smell the freshly cut lavender throughout the grounds and it was absolutely sublime! There were beautiful flower gardens as well as a vegetable patch and some nicely shaded sitting areas in the gardens. There were also animals, but I didn't get to see any of them as there was a school field trip that was occupying their attention. There is a great café/gift shop that is just perfectly purple! They have teas, cakes, cookies, and ice cream, all infused w/lavender and honey from their hives on premise. I literally had one of everything! The lavender tea was great, especially w/the beautiful cake. The little purple tea pot and cute tea cup the tea was served in was such a nice little touch. The lavender and honey ice cream was delicious as were the lavender cookies. The gift shop has so many options, but I love that they make all sorts of lavender infused personal care items. I bought some "gardener's hand cream" that I am in love with because not only is the smell amazing, but it is some of the best hand lotion I have ever used! You pay a premium price, but you get a premium product! Definitely recommend stopping in and checking this fantastic place out!

What an amazing place! For a total of $2 each, my boyfriend and I went on a little self-guided tour of the lavender farm. We went in late March, pretty early in the day (pretty much right when they opened) and there were hardly any people there. I got some beautiful photos, let the two ponies and the furry pig, and admired the bulls from afar. The gardens are SO CUTE and a photographers paradise. Because it was off season, tours were just $2 each, but during the spring and summer I believe they are $5 (still an amazing price for a New Zealand tourist attraction!). We finished off our tour by stopping back in the little tea room and ordering two cups of steaming hot herbal tea. Of course I chose lavender tea, and my boyfriend opted for strawberry plum. The cafe was cute as - I could barely stop myself from exclaiming a thousand times how cute I thought it was. Instead I took like a thousand photos and kept my tour sticker on my camera strap to remember the day forever.
Gorgeous place to spend a few hours. My husband and I stopped in as the first activity upon arrival in Wanaka. The lavender was just starting to bloom upon our visit, a ton of other flowers were blooming as well. The farm has ample spots for pictures opportunities, the gardens are very picturesque! Our favorite part of the farm was looking at the animals (sheep, alpacas, highland cows)! Highly recommend visiting on a nice day. read more

We drove by Wanaka Lavender Farm on our way to.....no where... because we went didn't go to the correct place, and wasted a solid hour. The positive is that we DID pass by this place, and decided to drive back to come here. We are so glad we did, because this was an awesome place and had an amazing time! It's not only a lavender farm, but also an animal farm. Open everyday, except for Christmas, from either 9 or 10am till 5pm. There's plenty of parking. Once you enter, it's the gift shop and the cafe. You also purchase tickets at the cashier. It was only $7 during the offseason, April-November, and $15 for the other months. There were a LOT of products in the gift shop, which were all lavender-oriented, of course. Everything was so organized, and well-stocked. We purchased a lot here. The cafe had an assortment of teas, some baked items, and ice cream and sorbet with very nice indoor and outdoor sitting areas with beautiful purple flowers. Even though there was no lavender in bloom, the entire farm was so clean, neat, and very well taken care of. The animal farm was fun, and some of them come over to the fence to let you pet them and eat grass out of your hand. Overall, we had an awesome time, and wished we immediately turned into Wanaka Lavender Farm when we first saw the sign. The staff was so friendly and nice. I'm not sure how busy it gets during the peak season, but it was nice to visit during the off season with less people. I definitely recommend coming here! read more

At Wanaka Lavender Farm, you will find lavender fields, gardens, animals and more. There is also a tea room, honey tasting, and gift shop that serves delicious lavender ice creams. It's the perfect place for families with children to spend some time outdoors. I came with two other adults and we spent a good hour at the farm walking around before heading to the gift shop. The lavender fields are very beautiful and so fragrant, but be aware of the bees. There are plenty so if you are scared of bees, this is not the place for you. Otherwise, defintiely recommend a stop here while in Wanaka. read more

The grounds are beautiful and the store is amazing. I'm hoping that they start shipping to the U.S. because their tea is the best I've ever tasted. read more

Pretty nice lavender farm with a bit of garden and few animals. I was expecting more lavender flavor from their ice cream but they have lots of lavender products if you're interested in buying. I would probably skip it if you're traveling out of lavender season, nothing much to see/do (we went in march) read more

Entrance to shop and front part of the garden are free of charge. Free sampling of honey. Love the shop decor, gives calm and relaxing vibe. Good as a toilet break on the way to Lake Hawea. read more

We loved this place! The gardens are beautiful, especially when blooming. There is also a great shop (oils, candles, lotion, etc) and cafe. The only downside was the number of professional photographers and models in the gardens and cafe, with no regard or respect for the people around them who also want to see the gardens. read more

If you want to see what Wanaka and New Zealand was and felt like in the 1990s, definitely come to this place. Suitable for ALL ages! Beautiful flowers and animals and just a really nice walk. My 94 year old Aunt loved it too. Local surrounds at its best. And very affordable admission. Highly recommend it. read more
