February, 4, 2026 | Wednesday | Outside Patio | Ube Waffle Cone | Honey Osmanthus Milk Tea w/Boba inspired!
    Shantelle S.

February 4, 2026 | After a bowl of ramen just steps away, Wanderlust on Sawtelle was perfect for dessert! Also the temperature was 84 degrees; perfect for ice cream! Even better, I was excited once discovering several February ice cream flavors of the month were inspired by Black History Month & Lunar New Year! Yes!! February Special | Ispalan | I immediately enjoyed the floral, berry flavor combo, tasted like I was eating yummy, fragrant flowers! This one was my absolute favorite! Ingredients included lychee ice cream & rose-scented Valrhona Raspberries...delicious! I absolutely loved it & would easily order again in a heartbeat!! I ordered in a small cup! February Special | Sample | Hummingbird Ice Cream to celebrate Black History Month, complete with cream cheese-buttercream ice cream, Jamaican spiced banana-pineapple cake, and butter-pralined! The flavor was unique. February Special | Honey Osmanthus Milk Tea w/Boba | Sample | Once trying a sample, I decided on this flavor, which includes milk tea ice cream infused with golden osmanthus flowers and honeyed black tea & pearls of chewy boba! Yum! I ordered in an Ube Waffle Bowl! Ube Waffle Bowl | I enjoyed the purple color & flavor, especially combined with ice cream! Customer Service | Mia was amazing, super friendly & I appreciated the samples! She provided an incredibly welcoming atmosphere! Thanks again! Parking | Free & shared with nearby shops & restaurants! Overall | Yes, I love trying new flavors, especially flavors of the month! Great customer service & yummy ice cream, it's a win!

I learned that this is a really popular LA chain! I LOVED their ice cream and think the consistency is some of the best I've ever tried. I had a really hard time deciding what I wanted because they have so many great flavors, but I opted for the mango bread. It has actual chunks of bread in it, and the consistency is sheer perfection. I also tried the pandan flavor, and I'll definitely get that one next time.

I love the flavors of ice cream offered at Wanderlust. I tried the black sesame Oreo ice cream and it was very good. I usually get the mango sticky rice. The female employee that helped us was friendly and allowed us to try a few different flavors before making our final decision.

For a place that markets itself as having Asian flavors, it is way too sweet. However, the flavors are still pretty solid. The mango sticky rice flavor really hit the mark with the texture, transforming the dessert into the finest ice cream form. Matcha + hojicha was not strong but not too sweet. They had an interesting grape flavor that tasted like Japanese grape gum. The surprise hit was passionfruit cacao, which provided a sour contrast and a slightly unexpected flavor!

I got a small scoop of the Neapolitan and it was delicious but it cost me close to $8. It was a bit of sticker shock after my $3 Michoacán popsicle from the day before! The food delivery mini truck that was rolling around was the highlight of the evening.

I was in the area and wanted a sweet treat after dinner. This location is conveniently situated next to several restaurants in a shopping center with a parking lot that offers complimentary parking, if you are lucky enough to find an open spot. Inside, there is just the counter where you choose your flavor and place your order. There's no seating indoors, but there are a couple of tables outside. When I visited around 9:00 pm on a Thursday, there were only a few groups of people in line. There is also a self-service kiosk outside, but I wanted to try the flavors before deciding. The shop is unique and offers a variety of Asian-inspired flavors, and the staff member was nice to let me sample a more than a few options. I ended up ordering a small scoop ($7.50) of mango sticky rice, which I later found out is one of their popular flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and how closely it resembled the actual dessert. The mango tasted fresh and naturally sweet without being overpowering, and the texture reminded me of sticky rice. It tasted more like a sorbet than a creamy ice cream, which made it feel light and refreshing. The flavor was well balanced and really stood out from the other options. I have heard they are opening more locations, which is exciting, and I am looking forward to coming back to try more of their seasonal flavors.

    Unbelievably amazing!

I always enjoy coming here because of all the unique flavors they have. In the photo attached, I got the Ube Malted Crunch along with the Abuelita Malted Crunch. Both were so good and the fact that I ordered it with an Ube cone made the combination even more delectable. The malted milk with the sweet purple yams were such a nice touch and the crunchy malted milk pieces made the experience even better! On top of that, the Mexican stone-ground chocolate with chili and cinnamon, Belgian dark chocolate, and crunch malted milk balls enhanced the dessert! The ube is usually my go-to when I go to this place because of the representation, but I always get another scoop of something I have not gotten before. I really enjoy reading the different options they have that come from all over the world. It is really cool this establishment showcases the importance of a multitude of cultures!

    Athena K.

Food is truly my favorite way of experiencing nostalgia and different cultures. Which makes Wanderlust Creamery #1 on my list (where else could I get black sesame cookies and cream)? The ice-cream is creamy yet light, never too heavy and sweet. I highly recommend their Ube Malted Crunch. It pairs well with other flavors if you're getting more than one. Also, $8.75 for a tasting trio is insane. Perfect for 1-2 people to share!

One of my fav ice cream shops!! The inside is a bit crowded and nowhere to stand/sit but the service is great and the workers are very helpful (you can sample flavors). They have unique flavors and many that are East Asian inspired and some of my favs is the Mango Sticky Rice, Japanese Neapolitan, and Ube Malted Crunch. They also have seasonal flavors so check their menu! Highly recommend :)

    Nijole T.

The ice cream here is delicious and the surface was wonderful! They are very patient and informative with their flavors. I love that they have such unique flavors that no other ice cream place carries. Seasonally rotating as well as staples that are always on their menu. The quality is well worth the splurge, highly recommended. If you are looking for a refreshing sweet treat in the area!

They got really special flavors than all other ice cream places. All are inspired by different countries. Stacy and Jenny were great, friendly and such a great attitude! Love it

Wanderlust Creamery is an amazing spot for ice cream. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and high quality, and you can really tell they put effort into their flavors. The ice cream was super delicious and very well balanced, not overly sweet but rich and satisfying. I especially recommend the Kinder flavor. It was honestly one of the best ice creams I have tried, very creamy with a great chocolate flavor. If you visit, that is definitely a flavor worth trying. Another thing that made the experience great was the staff. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The service was quick and the atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. Overall this is a great place if you are looking for high quality ice cream and a good experience. I would definitely recommend Wanderlust Creamery and will be coming back again.

Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft.
