Let me ask you something - do you really enjoy going to a highway store so you can wait on line and pay to have something gift wrapped? Here it's part of the service they provide. Need a gift basket? They'll make one up for you that's fabulous while you wait. I've been buying gifts, pots, pans, knives, gourmet food stuffs and more at Cooktique since I first moved to Tenafly in 1977 and have never once regretted any purchase. The advice I've gotten has made me a better cook - no kidding at all - and the items they've suggested I buy have made it so much easier for me in the kitchen. Friends of mine who are truly great cooks only shop here. Cooktique is unique and it's fun - come on over, browse their fascinating front windows and then treat yourself by going inside. It's an experience you won't forget. The next time you need a really special gift, want to get a sauce pan that cooks without burning or need olive oil that is amazingly light, you'll know what to do - you'll go to Cooktique.

The staff is super friendly and the whole store is so warm and inviting. I stopped in to return some wedding gifts someone had purchased from there that we had registered for else where and the shopkeeper was just lovely. She didn't give us a hard time at all about the returns and helped us pick out some really nice things instead! I even found my olive oil spray bottles there. Plus the french press we purchased came with sample of their coffee. Great space that I will definitely come back to for future gifts.

We had an incredible experience with Shandra! My mother is vegetarian and most cooking classes don't cater to that. But this class left us full and happy! My mom really connected with her too. I have been eating the leftovers for days since she sent us home with so much food. I would love to take another league of kitchens class.

She and her husband warmly welcomed us into their home and led us to a beautifully decorated table of what was described as a "welcome snack," but was actually a delicious feast in itself. There was Uzbek dried fruits, nuts, both sweet and savory pastries, and hot green tea. I loved the Uzbek raisins, which are bigger and juicier and just better than any raisins I've ever had! As we ate, Damira shared photos and stories of her family's life in Samarkand, an ancient city in Uzbekistan that lies on the silk road. Once we were all well-acquainted and nourished, we headed to the kitchen to cook the main feast. On the menu were homemade individual breads, spinach stuffed pastries, a spring cabbage salad, a cucumber potato salad, and a lamb stew. Damira was such a great teacher, demonstrating techniques before having us actively participate in the prep, cooking, and serving of each dish. She timed everything perfectly so that we had breaks and ate basically the entire afternoon, while continuing to engage us in stories of her home and culture. When we sat down for the final meal, the delicious food was somehow made even better from the meaningful connection we all shared while cooking it. The four and a half hour class flew by and while I didn't want to leave, I was very happy when we were each sent home with enough leftovers to last another two meals.

I took the Sewing bootcamp 101 class with Emily as the lead instructor. It ran from 10AM-6PM with a…read more1 hour lunch break at 12:30, I spent $310. We received a run down on how the machine works, learned how to thread the machine and how to fill the bobbins. Then we made a denim tote bag. This was super easy and really fast. After lunch break is the 2nd project. If you don't have your fabric, the school can sell you fabric directly inside for $16 a yard. I bought my fabric elsewhere and brought it in. I honestly recommend doing this instead of buying it from them. Because you have to wash your fabric like how you wash your laundry regularly since it shrinks naturally. We picked our patterns and I made a skirt since a skirt is faster than pants. They recommended not to make pockets or else I'll run out of time. But I HAD to add pockets. Women's clothing have little or no pockets regularly. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. and they immediately notice if someone is struggling or stuck. This really impressed me. For example, when I was threading the bobbin, the spool of thread was running out. The teacher was immediately behind me with a brand new spool of the same color so I can swap it out when it was finished. That was a great eye for detail! Overall, highly recommend. Just bring in your own 3 yards of cotton fabric, already washed and dried, for the 2nd project!

Such a fun and worthwhile activity. Booking was super smooth, they were very responsive over email and it was easy to reserve a slot. I also love that they have multiple locations including 34th Street, Broadway (Brooklyn), and Montclair, NJ. Julian (JuJu) was an amazing instructor! Super outgoing, patient, and made the class such a fun experience from start to finish. I really appreciated how thorough he was when explaining each step, along with all the helpful tips and tricks throughout the class. We made tote bags, which are perfect for spring/summer, and I was so impressed with how they came out! I'll absolutely be back to try more courses. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute solo activity or something fun to do with a friend!
