Well worth the 3 hours drive. We've come here numerous times for our anniversary celebration and love to see how the place has evolved. The passport is a little expensive but you get a tasting in the four buildings. They are nice heavy pours ranging from 4 or 5 tasting at each building. If you are looking for a winery atmosphere, this isn't the place. What you have here is a cross between a tourist trap, a neighborhood pub, and a family venue. Their craft beers are decent, and the food really is bar food. The best thing I can say about it is that we were able to bring all the family together, over 20 of us, three generations, all in one place, all without reservations. We'll likely go here again when we are back in the area from California and want all the family under one roof. read more

This review is actually for Iron Heart Cafe inside of War Horse Brewing. Looks like they make the food the day prior and refrigerate it. It's not made to order or even the day of (which it's very simple food and only takes a minute or so to prepare, so i don't get why). There is a "packed date" on the container when you get your food. (Can't say if this is true for the pretzel though, but definitely applies to the other 3 snack items). Would definitely not recommend this cafe to anyone unless they're absolutely starving. Eat before/after you visit here. Turkey BLT wrap 5/10 Mayo comes on the side so it doesn't get soggy. Smart. Wrap was very skimpy. There was maybe 1 or 2 slices of lunch meat turkey in it, and a slice of bacon. See photo. Not worth the price at all. Pasta salad 4/10 SUPER DRY. Was like eating plain wet noodles. Probably because it sat overnight. Needs more dressing for sure. The combination of ingredients were good together though. See photo. Iced latte with caramel 5/10 Couldn't even taste the caramel. Plenty of milk, but it was just poured in.. Not even frothed like a latte usually is. It was just like drinking a plain flavorless iced coffee. Sugar is separate to add yourself, which I did not know until half of my drink was gone. Suggestions for improvement: Fresh is best! Prepare and cook meal items to order/day of. read more

The beer here is really good! The service was just okay, but that happens when you're as busy as these people were. There just didn't seem to be any decent conversation to be had with any of them. No camaraderie. As for the venue - initially okay, but the effort to turn the place into an homage to military service falls FLAT when signs intended to be reminiscent of riveted aluminum are PRINTED OUT AND HUNG ON THE WALL. it would have been hardly more expensive to take some aluminum sheeting and put real rivets in it. This may sound like something small and inconsequential, but being disingenuous with the details is worse than no details at all. And if you think I'm being picky, then go there and look. Those signs are cheap and empty feeling. But hey! The beer is actually pretty good. read more

A must stop if you are in the area. Great beer, great customer service, and the decor takes you back in time to the pin up girl era. Get a flight or a pint, but if you get a pint you get to keep the glass, well worth it! If you are an IPA person they have nailed it. Lots of merchandise for sale. If you go around halloween it's a blast, everyone is dressed up and having a party. Kid friendly. Wineries in same area, one is sweet wines and the other has more of a variety. First time here, 7/6/24. Yay! I had moderate expectations for the brewery, and they fell way short of even that. The beer flight was FIFTEEN BUCKS for 5x 3 oz samples. An absurd price for a total of 15oz beer. The beer also, of the seven or so I tasted was mediocre. If you're going to change it up on weekends and serve people tiny plastic shot cups instead of the regular flight classes, LOWER THE PRICE. It's a scam. Another scam: there's a spin wheel for discounts on their website, but when we ordered they automatically closed us out after each beverage. So in our party we have a 10% off, or $10 off order, but then we can't use it to check out. It's a bait and switch. "we don't do tabs here" and apparently they don't have you sign anything on paper or screen. This process must be horrible for the bartenders--we expected that there would have been a chance to tip on the card like EVERY OTHER PLACE does. Nope. This shortsighted process is confusing for the guests, and scr*ws the staff. I bet that many guests assume that there is an auto-grat and/or don't have cash for tips when paying by card. You're trying to re-invent the wheel using a square. I was impressed by the facility options having so many different stations for food and drink, but unless other wines, ciders, beers are better than the beers and cider I had, there isn't a reason to come back. read more

I wish I came here earlier to enjoy the other breweries/winery, but with only 30 minutes left, we decided this would be the best place to end our day. They have a passport for flights at 3 locations for $40, or $15 per flight. The decor here was really cute- pin girl x war time. I really enjoyed their IPAs. Tried my friends ciders- only enjoyed 3/5 (probably just not my liking). Got a pack of Lieutenant Dan and ginger beer to go! Next time I'm back, I'll def take the time to enjoy the whole area! And it's great bc it's so close to each other ! read more

Cool beers, and an even better experience. *** The decor alone could earn the place three stars in my book. *** The wines at Three Brothers leave a lot to be desired, but WOW does War Horse do a lot to make up for it. If you come here, you must try: (1) Big Broadcast Double IPA-- I'm no huge fan of Double IPAs, but this one really stuck with me. 100 IBUs mean this is one bitter, hoppy monster, but it's just bold enough to make it all worth it. It's heavy, and you wouldn't want to drink more than one of these on an ordinary day unless you're drinking heavy beers as your lunch. This one will fill you up and do the trick. (2) Churchill Nitro Stout- This one I'm told you can get in stores. Creamy and thick, almost like a caramel iced coffee. My favorite beer I tried here, though I love all stouts so this surprised me less than liking the above double IPA. (3) 50 Miles to Mexico- A light, summery beer you could drink five of. Not even remotely bitter, and I love the PUNNY name. Didn't care for the ciders, but they were fun to try and sometimes that's the main goal. *** Service was stellar. My beer taster seemed to know a thing or two about brewing, and was even able to list the varieties of hops used in the beers. *** I'll be back. *** Now if they could translate their success with beer into some exceptional dry red wines! Three Brothers is a stellar way to spend a few hours, nonetheless. Would (and already have) highly recommended TB to friends. read more

War Horse has become my go to place for a flight, pint, or mental break from the day. Tucked between spectacular farmlands and wineries is this brewhouse gem. Stopped by the brewery after a day my shopping the outlets. We decided to just try the tasters (2 ounce samples of 5 different beers and cider) for $5.00. You get to choose from their list by marking the ones you want to try. I'm not that into hoppy IPA's so stuck with the milder beers. 50 miles to Mexico NY is a Mexican style beer-very drinkable and could be the beer you drink on a Summer day. The coffee stout was delicious-prominent coffee notes you could smell even before tasting it! I also enjoyed one of the ciders- had raspberry and apricot flavors - was slightly sweet so perfect as a dessert drink. The only drawback is the lack of food- other than palate cleansing pretzels on the bar, food was noticeably missing. Might have stayed longer if I could have enjoyed some food with my beer. This is one of my favorite places to visit and a regular stop when family visits. Great selection of beer, and craft sodas for members of the group that are not 21 yet. My kids love the Root Beer and Orange Soda. Food at Iron Heart can be eclectic and pricey, but it is always delicious! Some really great wine at Bagg Dare, Passion Feet, and Stoney Lonesome. My favorite is Bagg Dare, but i think the conisours of the group prefered Stoney Lonesome. You can't leave without trying the wine slushies. In cold weather the mulled cider is awesome! read more

After a day of sports and wine tasting we stopped by 3 Brothers Winery. While there we noticed the War Horse Brewery next door. To be honest I liked the brewery better. The metal warehouse building fit perfectly with the stainless brewing tanks and bare concrete floors. To make it even cooler Dave Mansfield had a beer with us. We had a great time talking about his son playing football. It was a great experience. This is definitely a place to check out if you are near Hobart William Smith. read more

Cool themed bar. Very commercialized unlike most breweries in the finger lakes. Wanted to use yelp to rate various aspects of their business but the "do they have neutral gender bathrooms?" Turned me off. But I will say it's a good place with a decent selection of brews. However I noticed I was here a few months ago and the employees around the register were commenting to themselves is it time to close yet. And again on this visit and it was only 420 and they close at 6. I like the military theme this place has but the rhetoric of the staff makes me think they should be dishonorably discharged read more

This was a total waste. The food company served a dish they posed as short rib poutine, I would not recommend for my pet. Really and the price for that and Kombucha, ridiculous! Beer company didn't appear to offer either sampling's or even a glass of beer and my friend and I walked up to the bar several times. All we could find was bottled wine for sale. Overall bad experience. Felt awful since we drove past many other finer places we could have enjoyed, but for this as a recommendation by a friend. Decor was OK. read more
