    Iron Heart Cafe Menu
    Kimberley A.

This review is actually for Iron Heart Cafe inside of War Horse Brewing. Looks like they make the food the day prior and refrigerate it. It's not made to order or even the day of (which it's very simple food and only takes a minute or so to prepare, so i don't get why). There is a "packed date" on the container when you get your food. (Can't say if this is true for the pretzel though, but definitely applies to the other 3 snack items). Would definitely not recommend this cafe to anyone unless they're absolutely starving. Eat before/after you visit here. Turkey BLT wrap 5/10 Mayo comes on the side so it doesn't get soggy. Smart. Wrap was very skimpy. There was maybe 1 or 2 slices of lunch meat turkey in it, and a slice of bacon. See photo. Not worth the price at all. Pasta salad 4/10 SUPER DRY. Was like eating plain wet noodles. Probably because it sat overnight. Needs more dressing for sure. The combination of ingredients were good together though. See photo. Iced latte with caramel 5/10 Couldn't even taste the caramel. Plenty of milk, but it was just poured in.. Not even frothed like a latte usually is. It was just like drinking a plain flavorless iced coffee. Sugar is separate to add yourself, which I did not know until half of my drink was gone. Suggestions for improvement: Fresh is best! Prepare and cook meal items to order/day of.

A super busy day at War Horse and our first time in their expanded space.Still a place worth visiting. Wonderful beers and good vibes.

Super cool place for beer and wine. Lots of people out over the weekend and everyone is happy. Lots of bathrooms available and are pretty clean. Cafe food is yummy, garlic parmigiana wings good!

I wish I came here earlier to enjoy the other breweries/winery, but with only 30 minutes left, we decided this would be the best place to end our day. They have a passport for flights at 3 locations for $40, or $15 per flight. The decor here was really cute- pin girl x war time. I really enjoyed their IPAs. Tried my friends ciders- only enjoyed 3/5 (probably just not my liking). Got a pack of Lieutenant Dan and ginger beer to go! Next time I'm back, I'll def take the time to enjoy the whole area! And it's great bc it's so close to each other !

Cool beers, and an even better experience. *** The decor alone could earn the place three stars in my book. *** The wines at Three Brothers leave a lot to be desired, but WOW does War Horse do a lot to make up for it. If you come here, you must try: (1) Big Broadcast Double IPA-- I'm no huge fan of Double IPAs, but this one really stuck with me. 100 IBUs mean this is one bitter, hoppy monster, but it's just bold enough to make it all worth it. It's heavy, and you wouldn't want to drink more than one of these on an ordinary day unless you're drinking heavy beers as your lunch. This one will fill you up and do the trick. (2) Churchill Nitro Stout- This one I'm told you can get in stores. Creamy and thick, almost like a caramel iced coffee. My favorite beer I tried here, though I love all stouts so this surprised me less than liking the above double IPA. (3) 50 Miles to Mexico- A light, summery beer you could drink five of. Not even remotely bitter, and I love the PUNNY name. Didn't care for the ciders, but they were fun to try and sometimes that's the main goal. *** Service was stellar. My beer taster seemed to know a thing or two about brewing, and was even able to list the varieties of hops used in the beers. *** I'll be back. *** Now if they could translate their success with beer into some exceptional dry red wines! Three Brothers is a stellar way to spend a few hours, nonetheless. Would (and already have) highly recommended TB to friends.

Coming in on a Tuesday night, the place was busy and the wait was about 30 minutes -- but there was free seating at the bar. Fair enough, not many restaurants were even open in Geneva on a Tuesday. The food was solid -- nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about either, and the presentation on those big plates is genuinely fun. The lady bartender had her hands full preparing drinks while also serving everyone seated at the bar, including food orders. It was sometimes hard to catch her attention, but overall she did a great job juggling it all. What really bothered me: the owner (CB) is one of the few Master Sommeliers in the world and a big promoter of the FLX wine region (which I love), so can anyone explain why a glass of FLX wine costs about 40% more than a glass of California or even Australian wine? That's not exactly "Think NY, Drink NY" -- despite those charming stickers around the restaurant (which I do love).

Back again for our 2nd anniversary weekend. Came by last year for the first time ever, on a whim,…read moreand instantly named this our favorite spot in Geneva or anywhere else in the FLX area. And for the 2nd time (well, 4th technically - we came back multiple times over each weekend), we had a terrific experience. The staff are SUPER nice here. This time 'round we had Ellie as our server, who gave us great suggestions on the specials and main menu items - and also Justin when we sat at the bar on another evening (super talented drink mixologist). They're just really great at making you feel welcome, you're taken care of every step of the way. The food comes out quick, you have just enough time to relax and chat between dishes but we've never felt like we had to wait long - despite how packed the place always gets (popular spot, for sure). But yeah aside from the terrific service, the main reason we keep coming back is the quality of the dishes they consistently put out there. This trip we got to try the "Friendship Fries" as a moderately spicy, super flavorful appetizer, and then we split a whole branzino in a delicious horseradish sauce. And because we heard great things about their burgers, we came back just now for another dinner and split one of those too - predictably great, barely any condiments needed really. Juicy, well-cooked and tasty as heck. They have a super extensive wine selection from FLX, France, Italy and all across the U.S., but we tend to order from their cocktail menu - just tried the "Ship of Theseus" today. Unique flavor and delightful to sip on. We kinda wanna find another spot in Geneva just so we don't get overly attached, and end up spending most dinners here from now on, whenever we're in town. But so far nothing else has really come close.

5 stars for the service, 3 stars for the food…read more We visited for dinner on a Sunday evening and, thanks to our reservation, were seated right away despite the restaurant being quite busy. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, polite, and attentive throughout the meal, making the experience enjoyable. The food was good, though it wasn't particularly memorable or outstanding. We both love poutine. The fries was good but the gravy was a bit too salty and it definitely need more cheese curds. Overall, it's a great spot for dinner with friends or family, especially if you're in the area and looking for a pleasant dining experience.

The staff are excellent, we had a server who was super charming and checked in on us all evening. Easy process to book a table, helpful people all around. 2.The place itself is snazzy and upscale, but not excessively so; we enjoyed dressing up a bit for a nice dinner there, but didn't feel like the vibe was overly stuffy or anything. 3. The appetizer we split (mussels in a slightly spicy broth with focaccia on the side) was excellent. Easily the highlight of our meal, would order it again in a heartbeat. The downside, unfortunately, is that the main part of our meal was nothing to write home about. I'd found this spot online and booked a table for two specifically to really "wow" my wife and enjoy an excellent meal together, and was really looking forward to some good food after reading all the stellar reviews here on Yelp. It certainly has high-end prices for the FLX (spent over $250 for dinner for two, without a dessert or more than a glass of wine each), which in general I'm happy to pay - if the quality is there, that is. But our entrees were just unimpressive, and actually slow to arrive. Took them a solid 40-45 minutes to bring out our mains afterwe finished the appetizers, but worse was the fact that both dishes (rack of lamb for myself, and short rib gnocchi for her) were simply bland. Best part of my dish were the mashed potatoes honestly - the lamb itself was unseasoned, and the sauce was watery. My wife's gnocchi weren't terrible, but the sauce had an odd, almost burnt aftertaste that neither of us cared for. For a regular restaurant, with more regular prices and reviews, we wouldn't have minded honestly - but because this place is kinda marketed as one of the better restaurants in Geneva, and priced as such, having a bit of a mediocre meal left us fairly disappointed. Again, great service and fun spot just to be in, and _some_ of the items like the appetizers are pretty tasty (I'd happily come back for another taste of their mussels and focaccia). But we likely won't be coming back anytime soon, particularly as we live out of town. Hope it was just a fluke and that they bounce back.
