I've been to one concert here. I really enjoyed the music and the arrangement. The concert we were at was pretty low key so we had plenty of room to move around and were able to go get drinks in the middle of the concert and make it back to our spots in the front row. (btw standing only) Drinks were decently priced, it wasn't hot like a lot of those enclosed venues get (esp. in the middle of Houston Summer), plenty of bathrooms, and there wasn't any problem getting parking ($5 across the street). There are also a couple of bars near by where we hung out before the concert started. Overall, a good experience. Only downside (well depends how you look at it) was that there was a crowd of immature teenage boys who decided to stand right behind us and try to push their way in front of us... so upside to that is that its minor friendly if you want to bring your teenagers here. read more

I was here last night for the Marina and the Diamonds concert. The concert was 5 (million!) stars, but the venue -- not so much. First, I was told that there would be REALLY limited seating, so we got arrived an hour and a half before doors, hoping to get one of the coveted seats, but when we got in, there were absolutely no seats. We ended up getting really decent spots on the "balcony" (read: three-steps elevated level near bar with railing). The railing gave us something to lean on -- which we DEFINITELY needed after being on our feet for close to 5 hours. There was also someone smoking weed really close to us and a lot of people had lighters on them. For a place with a no-lighters-policy, they really dropped the ball on this. It was also kind of hot, so I can't imagine what it's like in the summer -- must be unbearably so. All in all, I probably won't be back and if another artist that I follow chooses to perform here, the venue selection will give me pause. read more

Went to see Johnny Winter on 2/3/12, opening act was Damon Fowler from Tampa who gave us a hint of a talented musician that will only get better with age. As for Johnny Winter, he's already pushing 70 so whatever he does is great. This was my first visit to Warehouse, and the only disapointment was the mixing (last) so here is my take. Overall - 4 stars. I will go back, especially with the lineup they have. This is the place in Houston bringing in Mid size and up and coming names. Parking - 5 stars - right acros the street for $5. If you think $5 is unreasonable for a 100 foot walk, then take the bus. Area - 3 stars - Whoever said Warehouse is in a setchy part of town needs to get outta Katy more. Its an old part of town that is being revitalized, warehouse just got there first (lucky for them). This area is fine, just not alone at 4am. Bouncer - 5 stars - Very polite and didn't take my lighter. Inside - 5 stars - Wow, first thing I thought was great space. The only thing that could make it better? Retractable roof, but that's not happening. The crowd - 5 stars - I saw parents with 12 yr olds, a couple who looked older then Johnny busting out to the left of the stage, and everyone in between. The area around the stage was tight, but everyone was polite and ready to talk when there was no music, and respectful when he played. I went alone but had people buying me drinks, telling me other places in town to see great music, giving me phone numbers, asking for mine. Just a great mix of great people. Drinks - 5 stars - $3 for a Bottle of domestic cheap beer so if you want to drink on the cheap you can. I went to Lucky's next door before the show and had a few $5.25 Baracadi and cokes (Also reasonable) so I had 3 beers during the whole show and a water towards the ends. And they will do a tab for you (not sure I'd do that with a 1000 people???) Smoking area - 5 stars - I went looking for the smoking room since there were some complaints and have no idea why. There's plenty of room. Sound - 2 stars - here is where this place failed. I've read reviews here that like the sound, and those that don't. The opening band sounded great, which makes me think they used the house soundman, but Johnny? I couldn't hear the bass (ever), and could barely hear Johnny singing. The drums, and Guitars were mixed great once they got rid of the feedback but I didn't come to hear just the guirtars and drums. I thought maybe they were mixing for the back of the room???? Nope, bad there also. Seriousely, I could hear him singing, but could not hear a word he was saying unless the music had stopped. HUGE LET DOWN. read more

First time at Warehouse Live, saw Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque last night with my boyfriend - the lighting was awful. It was almost like the lights were positioned to display the audience, not the performers. There were several points where we just couldn't see what was going on - I have been to many, many shows & I know the lights occasionally shine on the crowd, but this was just ridiculous. Maybe it was just a bad night for whoever set up the lights, or maybe it was supposed to be like that per the performers. Who knows. I am definitely hesitant to come back to see anyone else here though. read more

I like this place, I agree with other reviews that it's cleaner than expected. I like not having to walk through 50 smoking hipsters to get in the door. Tickets here are usually reasonable, the crowd is not pushy, and beers aren't that excessively expensive. The biggest major PLUS here is that it's intimate and that they get cool bands. Parking is a little tricky but unless its Friday or Saturday night, it won't be a big deal-- just be a little heads up. I'll be back!!! Too bad more of the bands that I like (read: indie-rock-ish) mostly cruise through Austin and skip Houston. I guess that's what ACL is for... read more

Saw Cypress Hill in the Ballroom last night. I stood right in the middle of the room, and the sound quality was terrible. I was angry as a customer, and if I was the band, I would have been even more angry. The highs were piercing. Couldn't even FEEL the bass. The sound was so poor I couldn't make out which song was which half the time until they went to chorus. (and no that's not because I didn't know their stuff). Drinks were poured well. Bathrooms were awesome and clean. Staff was nice. How can you be a premier live music venue in Houston and have such poor sound quality? I don't really know what I'm talking about here. Is it possible it was somehow the band's fault for bringing poor equipment? Is it normal and expected to hear a bunch of feedback? read more

LOVE this venue. I've been here several times and it's definitely my favorite in Houston. I've only seen shows on the little stage, but they've all been great. Drinks are relatively cheap, sound is good, and there's always plenty of room for people to hang around merch. They get the best bands here! Plus, it's next door to Lucky's if you want to pre- or post-party or need some food. Great spot. read more

Just to get a drink or water at the bar, it takes like 1 hour in a line of 30 people (imagine 4 lines 4 bartenders and 30 people in each line). There's probably not enough bartenders, or something. This shouldn't take me this long just to grab water, as I say typing in this line waiting. read more

Favorite Venue in Houston. Love the Studio and Ballroom aspect, always great acts. Bartenders are expedient and friendly. Staff members arent dicks, like at most concert venues... ( you know.. 2 of the stage of the Houston Whatever Fest are located here. Makes sense since the music festival takes up the street blocks from here to the BBVA stadium. There's one bigger stage you first see when you enter in and then a smaller stage next door. It definitely has a small, intimate feeling when seeing a show in either room and the small room has limited seating in the very back near the stage tech. This place also has a full bar inside. There area sure looks seedy at night but there were police in and around the area since there's a festival going on so I felt safe that time walk back to my car at night. read more

Great event venue that hosts a variety of events. I've had the opportunity to go this location for concerts, art shows and presentations like the Moth StorySLAM (which is a fantastic event. If you ever see a StorySLAM on the calendar, snag a ticket before the event sells out). Ticket purchases and entry are relatively easy. For some events (like the Pancake and Booze Art Show or more popular concerts) there are often long lines, so plan to get there early, or pay the extra to skip the lines. There is plenty of parking all around - free street parking after 6 and lots of $5 parking lots within walking distance. They have two bars that keep the drinks flowing during event. Stop by their website to pick an event, you wont be disappointed. read more

I've never been to this venue before and recently had VIP tickets to a show here so I drove down from Austin. We loved this venue, the drinks were reasonable, sound was good, and it was quite large inside with a viewing area above the mosh pit area! Security and staff were super friendly as well. The one complaint I would have is that the vip situation was a little unorganized getting in in the beginning, but besides that, really awesome place! Would definitely return. read more

Although Stereo Live is *the* home for EDM concerts and raves in Houston, I sure as hell wouldn't mind coming back to Warehouse Live for another show. A bunch of friends and I hit up this place for Project 46 last week, and though I was skeptical at first, by the end of the night, I was reeeeally liking what I saw. Project 46 easily became the best free show I've been to since Dzeko & Torres, and it's because WL is a pretty sweet venue! The Good: + Big open space makes for less pushing/shoving + 2 bars on each side of the main stage + Clean space; floors were constantly swept and trash picked up + Large, expansive, clean restroom w/ a BUNCH of stalls + Super chill staff - there were glovers and lightshows galore that night, but no one was kicked out The Bad: + Parking: No private lot. You can try your luck on the streets or pay to park in lots and walk. We parked in Kim Hung Supermarket's lot for only $5 though - not bad! + Visual/lighting systems = just A-OK. The background screen is small and the lighting effects aren't anything spectacular. Then again, I can understand since this is not an EDM venue. Overall, we had a really fun night and I wouldn't mind seeing another show here. And hey, Stereo Live? Take notes: 1. Get bigger bathrooms. 2. Chill out and allow gloving again. read more

Cool looking venue. I saw this group call The Internet perform (def check them out!!) they were great live and crowd was nice. The only downside was the drinks! My friends and I all had different drinks from two separate bartenders and all of them tasted bad :( My friends beer was warm, my double shot of vodka with sprite tasted like sprite alone and my friends vodka & cranberry tasted watered down as well. I'm actually not very picky about drinks but we really didn't enjoy these drinks which, again, we ordered from different bartenders. It was a busy night but I don't believe the drinks should've suffered because of that. I would come to this venue again for a concert but I'd probably check out the bar across the street beforehand. read more

Warehouse Live has to be one of my favorite venues in this city. Ive seen atleast 10-15 different shows at this place. First of all they have have two stages. A small and big stage. Good size facility, lots of space, good acoustics. Drinks are fairly price, still expensive but what are you going to do?? Service can take a little while depending on how popular the artist is, but I can still manage to get a drink. Check out Lee Fields last time I visited this place, and earlier last year for Houston whatever fest. I think its a great venue, and I plan on coming back for more of the beats. read more

Been here twice.. Once for my boyfriend and his friend that preformed on stage and the second for a open mic night with new artists. Pros: *I love the atmosphere. *I love the fact that they have a bar where you can get drinks. Cons: *Only thing that sucks is the limited sitting area.( If it's packed your out of luck.) *Parking is a nightmare. Attended a general admission Nightwish concert (Delain and Sabaton were the openers) with some friends. Great venue for the number of tickets sold. A couple of our party arrived late, and we were able to step outside to give them their tickets with no hassle. When the manager heard one of our party had health challenges, he personally escorted her and a friend to a special section and provided chairs so they could sit and enjoy the show. The sound was very well done through all three band's sets. Stage transitions between bands were a little long, but it was hard to tell whether that was due to the Warehouse crew or the crews for each band. Drinks were overpriced. Recommend pre-flighting at Lucky's next door. Merchandise tables were by the door, which created congestion on the way in, but exiting wasn't an issue. The security staff responsible for clearing the floor were a little rude ("Get out. Go home. Goodbye.") to us for still being in the building and not purchasing merch ten minutes after the house lights came up. All in all, a good venue for small crowds and intimate shows. read more

I can't even begin to count the number of venues I've been to for shows (in both small and large cities) but Warehouse is def in the top 7. I do error on the side of older run down iffy looking venues and will be particularly fond of a place if there is something that is unique. Warehouse is not run down or iffy looking and I don't think there is much of anything unique to it (though I do like the setup). If it wasn't for the fact that I've been a good 10+ times and there have been several occasions where the potties were not so functional there would be 5 stars on this review. From rock and rollers to teeny bopers Ive seen good times had. The set up for going outside and around a bit to get your smoke on is, IMHO, great! Though it probably wasn't planned that way I do like not having to be stuck next to a door that leads to the balcony/patio full of smoking... I'm not hatin' I'm jus sayin' I am a much bigger fan of the one of a kind, privately and locally owned establishments all around but Warehouse is mighty fine. read more

Decent venue for concerts. The only thing is the standing for 3 hours and the more packed it is the more people like to gradually move more and more closer to the stage even though there is no more room and you can see even less when your smooched rather than far away. They have several mini bar stations and the front entrance they sell the bands t-shirts etc. We had to wait outside all around the building in line to get in. Went last night for FUN. concert YEEEEEEY!!!! They were so awesome and sound great live! read more

Average grungy music venue. Came for the Bryson Tiller show. General admission standing room. Wasnt too hard to get drinks from the bar. Didnt even attempt the bathroom. Ended up paying to park 3 blocks away in some alley. You can have a good time here as long as you know what to expect! read more

I've been to Warehouse Live twice now. Once for SWS w/Breathe Carolina (and other bands) and recently for Echosmith on the Honda Civic Tour. The best thing about Warehouse Live is it's ample, there is ton of space in the venue. Another plus is that parking is pretty cheap here! read more

I will never attend a concert here again! Having to stand the whole time is way too much. And when the artist comes out, the people in the back stsrted to push and a fight almost broke out!! It was too hot after it gets packed and my friends were about to pass out! There should be a section for seating, it may cost more but it would be worth it, especially for the wait. read more

The addition of Warehouse Live has raised the Houston music scene to a legitimate contender with Austin and Dallas. Now major label-we sell out stadiums-artists aside, Houston used to get passed on by a lot of smaller not so ferociously mainstream bands. The tours would hit Dallas and Austin and then skip down to Corpus or skip the rest of TX completely. Sure I've done my fair share of driving to and from Austin on weeknights for can't miss shows, but it has been amazing to be able to take a 5 minute cab ride to Warehouse and rock out without having to worry about the 2.5 hour drive home. I've seen some smaller bands in the studio (Classic Crime, Secondhand Serenade). This is a great space for smaller bands or bands just starting to develop a following in Texas. Additionally, studio shows provide a great venue for local bands to get opening acts on a consistent basis. The ballroom is also a great space (saw Silversun Pickups and Escape the Fate here recently). There are two permanent bars, one of each side and there's also normally a cash only beer girl near the merch stands at the front. I've seen a ton of shows in here and it never disappoints. There is almost never a line at the bar on the left side because its raised off of the main floor. I've seen some people say the prices are high and I tend to disagree with that. House of Blues charges $9 for a beer, you can get draft beer at WHL for something in the range of $5. Is it higher than a bar? Sure, but since they have no competition when you go to a concert at their venue everyone should just be thankful that they don't charge prices similar to HOB. Go support some bands, see a studio show, you'd be surprised at how many amazing bands want to play Houston now that WHL is here. read more

I've seen two shows at warehouse live. "Straight Outta Oz" by Todrick Hall & more recently "Back to Back" a comedy show with Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher. Both were amazing shows in their own right but something that I found particularly wonderful was the venue! Warehouse live is a great place to see any show! Whether it's standing room only or a seated show like the comedy show, you won't be disappointed! The vibe is really chill and intimate which is the best way to see shows in my opinion! A few points! 1. I was front right audience both shows. however, views to the stage are solid anywhere. 2. Full bar is always a plus! 3. The staff is amazing (see below) The second show I went to happened to be changed to a free show after I had already purchased tickets (per the performer). They changed the paid tickets to a VIP meet and greet but the information on the performers site was pretty vague. Needless to say I sort of panicked. I really wanted to meet this performer. After contacting warehouse live via email, phone & instagram (all within a one hour period, the morning of the show, I freaked a little) they responded quickly and went above and beyond to calm my nerves and get me the information I needed! A wonderful woman named Ashly contacted me first via insta DM, Got me all the info I needed and gave my name to the head of security just in case I had any problems! I was then called by the Assistant General Manager, Stephanie, personally reassured that I'd be able to participate in the meet n greet and she even met my friend and I at the door! I will definitely be seeing more shows here and If you have a chance to see someone here, I'm sure you'll love it too! Thank you WHL! read more

The MC's were entertaining and the show was ok...at least the few parts I was able to see. The audience seating is level. The MC's did nothing to curtail standing patrons which resulted in me missing half of the show. Drinks are over priced (of course) but if you're into the night life, you might enjoy it. HIGHLY unlikely that I'll be returning. read more

Would be a five star but one of the bartenders was terrible. First drink from this particular bartender, no name..but the one wearing light rimmed glasses....we could tell shorted us on the drink, but we said ok we'll give him another chance on the next one. We turned around to watch the band. Since he put no booze in the first drink, I ordered a double...again shorted us, couldn't even taste it...this time we said something and asked for more bourbon, he got defensive and became a jerk. So we asked the other bartender to make us a drink, guess what, he didn't short the shot, and made us perfect drinks!! Wish I had his name, I'd recommend you ask him to make drinks, not the other bartender who is terrible and defensive. Fix that problem WL and I would give you 5 stars next time. My friend came in from out of town and we saw that they were hosting an event we were interested in. I paid for the tickets and when we got to the door the lady who was the "manager" was very rude to us and wouldn't give me a band to drink because I have a paper temporary license from the DPS since I just turned 30 a few days ago and had to renew it. She was rude to me about it and treated me like I was a minor with a fake ID. She didn't even try to look at it even though I also had my expired ID with me and she told the bartenders that they were liable if I was underage. I understand if the paper license made her nervous but at least try to be nice about it and at minimum look at my identification first. She didn't even look at it at all. Needless to say we walked out and went to the bar across the street instead. I'm not going back. read more

Great live venue. A lot of great artist come here they have 3 stages so you get all kinds of talent from established to up & coming artist. They Also have DJs some nights like New Year's it was so much fun & they dropped ballons from the ceiling. You can also book a stage for your own private parties or if your a performer. The staff is really nice. The bathrooms stay pretty clean & they have people constantly walking around cleaning. The drinks are pretty consistent & priced well. My favorite is the bigger venue it's very spacious, always plenty of room. read more

Great mid-size venue. Hip and well laid out. Easy parking Two rooms. Capacity: Ballroom- 1500 The Studio- 350 The sound sucks though. I have never been to a show that sounded good. Clean. Drink prices are not crazy. Ticket prices are a little too high. Good place to see a show. Update May 2010: For the last 3 shows there has been a big problem with the crowd. Can't blame Warehouse, but it makes for horrible shows. The crowd seems more interested in talking than see the show. Some shows I could barely even hear the band onstage because the crowd chatter was so loud. read more
