He was AMAZING -- I highly recommend him! I told him I wanted candid photos of all of our guests, to keep posed shots to a minimum, and to take the liberty to take some "arty" shots. He delivered! He was also open to my ideas -- I sent him a bunch of photos depicting the kind of photographic shots that I liked, and he clearly studied them beforehand because the photos he took were exactly what I wanted. Alan is unobtrusive and managed to get photos of practically all of our guests so we can now include a photo with each post-wedding thank-you. He was meticulous -- he took so many photos at the most important moments. He also caught some wonderfully funny, sensitive moments when people weren't looking. Basically, I was worried I would miss what parts of the wedding, but I can relive it through the photos...My husband and I are so happy with them. Well, almost exactly 5 years later, Jamie did the photography at my wedding as well, and I couldn't be happier that I hired him! We started by meeting with Jamie in his studio in Framingham, where he won my (now) husband over by offering him a Sam Adams while we watched a slideshow of his work. He gave us an information packet with his various packages and rates, and we went home and picked one and officially hired him the next day. We opted to add an engagement session to our package, since it was reasonably priced and we thought the practice would be good, since we're not used to having hundreds of pictures taken of us. I knew we picked the right man for the job when, at the end of our e-session, my (then) fiance said "That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." I know that doesn't sound like much of a compliment, but coming from a guy with the attention span of a 5 year-old, that's a pretty good compliment after spending 2 hours having his picture taken! Jamie kept it light, fun, and non-traditional, and he totally embraced our idea of incorporating our kayaks into the shoot. Leading up to the wedding, Jamie was very good about helping me plan our schedule for pictures, and made sure he knew about everything that was going to happen that day. He showed up early to scope out the venue for ideas, and then set to work shooting our amazing photos for the next 9 hours. He did such an amazing job that we're having a very hard time going through and picking our our favorites for the wedding album he is also putting together for us. Throughout our time working with Jamie, he kept a light, fun attitude, and I could tell he genuinely loves what he does. We couldn't be happier with the final product, and thanks to Jamie, we will be able to cherish these memories captured in time forever!

I have seen plenty of lovely wedding photos, but few that could qualify as art. Weather, lighting, and location are all opportunities to Sam, not obstacles. I have photos of myself standing in bushes, a parking lot, and in front of a drab curtain, and all of them look like scenes from a movie. Just look at his website; you'll see what I mean. Everyone's jaws drop when I show them my photos. (2) Both he and his assistant, Kaylee, are so much fun to work with. They have delightful, fun, mellow personalities. They don't dominate the shoot, boss you around, flake out, or get impatient. They really make the shoot all about you and enjoy every minute of it with you. (3) He will do anything to make you happy. We forgot to get a picture of the wedding bands on me and my husband's fingers, so when he was in the area, he came to my apartment to get the shot. How many photogs will do that? He will respond very promptly to any other requests you may have. I've asked him to Photoshop things out, change the color of ties, etc. (4) He is FAST! I was able to view a gallery of my photos within a week after my wedding. After I chose some prints, he had them shipped to me the very next day. Seriously, it's supernatural! What else do I need to say? If you want a photographer for ANYTHING, wedding or otherwise, give Sam a call! You will not regret it.

And as you can imagine, on a day like this, it's so important that everything run smoothly. After running a bit late, we arrived at the venue to Sam and his right hand woman Kaylee patiently waiting and ready to shoot. I wasn't sure which I was supposed to book first, the ceremony or the reception, how much time to leave in between, what photos were to be taken, the list goes on - I went in completely blind. What I DID know was the photographs for the big day were my top priority. When I selected my photographer, I did several phone, skype, and FaceTime interviews as I was an out-of-town bride, living in Chicago and getting married in my home state of NJ. Seperate from the obvious - Tav's photos being the most impressive and dynamic/captivating, he was also, far and away, the best communicator which I SO appreciated as a neurotic, detail-oriented person. He was clear and up-front about the time frame I should give myself before, during, and after both the ceremony and reception. He had several extremely reasonable packages to choose from, allowing me to subtract something due to my out-of-town circumstances. He e-mailed me far in advance to get the names/lists of the VIPs that would be photographed that day (outside of my groom and I of course). Both he and his second shooter (who took shots of my groom and his groomsmen beforehand) were on time, professional, and respectful to all members of the family and friend circle. And most importantly, my wedding photos are brilliant. My album and all of the digital copies I have of MY photos are irreplaceable.
