Everytime I visit I always find something I didnt know I needed! The shop itself is clean and bright and the stock is new and continually stocked up. The staff are helpful and you get the impression they are passionate about their trade and know what they are talking about which is an added bonus! Ive bought things from them in the past and they have always asked me if I knew how to use it. This is the kind of service you dont get in the larger stores. Its the kind of shop I look forward to visiting and am happy to part with my money in!

It is located in a fine Victorian building, known as the Gamble Building in the heart of the town centre. Throughout the year, the gallery showcases a varied and engaging programme of visual art exhibitions. Although the gallery is the smallest one I've been to, I was actually impressed with the art on display and astounded by some portrait pieces including the still life sketches, profile paintings of people and nude art. Instead, I didn't get any of the puzzling abstract type which I often frown upon! If you're into art, you'll like this little masterpiece of a gallery.

Firstly, admission is free which is always welcome. The building is a mixture of new and old - you enter through an amazing old brick chimney, but inside you find a modern gallery (shared with the local library). There are exhibits on the history of glass making in the area as well as displays of art work. There's a well stocked shop, and a cafe too. A connecting bridge over the canal takes you to the museum part of the site, based in old glassworks which have been partially restored. The real highlight though was the glassblowing workshop. You do have to pay to watch these, but it was well worth it. When we went, we were the only two people present so effectively got a personal demonstration. Absolutely fabulous and highly recommended.

Castle park is only a small park but the best thing about it is that there are hundreds of squirrels running around free! People come from miles around to feed them nuts and watch them play and frolic in the woods. The park is free admittance and dogs are allowed, theres a public toilet which is clean and theres a cafe onsite in the Castle Park Arts Centre where you can buy drinks and snacks. Lots of play areas for the kids with a play ground with assorted rides and activities to amuse the little ones. Some nice paths and wooded areas to walk around too and stretch your legs and walk the dog.

Users now no longer seem to respect the library Quietness and it now has the feel of a supermarket were people speak at full volume. I think the library has lost a lot. Maybe the new open feeling is what people want and they don't want libraries to be quite places any more.
