Came to SF for a work trip recently and decided to stay here a couple nights. Its in a very interesting area, but a good place to stay. Its in Union Square/Financial District, but there is plenty of shady antics going on with folks in the area. Room was clean, bed was comfy and the bathroom was functional. There is a nice bar downstairs in which I received a complimentary glass of wine every night. Staff was nice as well. This is a nice, vintage hotel. I would stay here again if need be.

Enjoyed our stay here. This hotel is in the correct spot for us meaning easy walking distance to Bart and Cable cars, near restaurants we enjoy, and close to a bus stop that takes us toward Golden Gate Park/Japan district. They also have a bar and restaurant on site so that makes breakfast, dinner, and drink options easy enough when in a pinch. The staff was also very friendly to us at all times. The room itself was an a corner room and large by all means. 4 poster bed, fireplace, 2 sink areas, and a wardrobe plus dresser. It is older hotel so you hear all the street noise even on the 7th floor. The windows are single pane so it can be cooler sitting next to them. I would stay here again the next time we are in town.

The hotel is really not worth its price. Can you imagine that a hotel does not have water filling places, no restrooms in the lobby, no gym and no regular cleaning service (at least for my room)?? Worst of all, the website says it has laundry, while in fact there were only off-site options--this is kinda cheating--I mean, this is the same as saying "no laundry ". Really inconvenient and unpleasant! Minor prob: the room was small but this is Okay. The only good thing about this hotel seems to be its location.

We enjoyed our stay here in January. The location was perfect and about a 5 minute walk from food, convenience stores, art galleries, and shopping. We ubered everywhere we needed to go downtown which was all of 10$ a ride. The staff gets a mixed review but overall pleasant and accommodating. Some could've been a lot more welcoming. The hotel offered complimentary umbrellas when it was raining which we LOVED! They really came in handy. The rooms were cute with personality and clean, we had multiple rooms and each came with a fridge. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and would stay again!

I was looking for a hotel in Union Square that was also conveniently located to the Financial District. So the Warwick seemed fairly reasonably priced and very central. The customer service was very friendly and positive - staff wore masks throughout. The room itself was pretty cold - it was a corner room with windows on both sides. Do you know what would have made it better? If the heater worked. Being early December, it was downright chilly. I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent and tech-savvy woman. But that heater was a pain in the proverbial. You know what I like? A box with a few buttons. Push to make warmer or cooler and other buttons for the speed of the airflow. Nothing helped. In the end I had to call the front desk to have a heater sent up. The hotel phones did not work, so had to use my cellphone. Also had to call twice. Meanwhile I was very cold. There was some club or something with music with extra bass. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from! Anyway I turned on my white noise app and kept the heater going all night which kind of drowned out the music but it didn't stop until 7:00 am. Parking of course is always an issue. With the record number of car break-ins in SF right now, it's a good idea to have NOTHING in your car showing. I paid extra ($45) to do valet at the Westin SF which is a few doors down. I didn't want to risk someone breaking my window or vandalizing my car. They have an agreement with the Westin, otherwise it's $70 or something ridiculous like that. The beds are on the smaller side but it was comfortable enough. The bathroom windows do not open nor is there a fan. Don't think I will be staying here again considering there are other options in Union Square for a similar price!

Better than staying at a 1 star hotel! This was an overnight stay! I think the best part about the stay was the shower lol! That hit the spot! This will be my 2nd stay here with more distractions that can wake up a sensitive sleeper like myself! I was trying to figure out working the heater, and never figured it out? It was cold where I had to put on extra layers I had called down to the receptionist multiple times within half an hour and requested extra blankets and pillows! no answer until i had to inconvenience myself to walk down and follow up finally received it and i was trying to close the curtains but they dont close in like the inside layers! now this morning! the garbage truck pulls in, theres some sort of vacuuming or drilling up above or in the room next to me? the windows arent really sound proof? i heard road rage and sirens! but for an overnight stay this is definitely good value

I'm leaving 5 stars because even though there was a miscommunication between the third party booking and the hotel with the type of room we paid for, the hotel was beyond accommodating! Really great customer service. They handled the situation beautifully, unlike the third party booking website. Ernesto gets a shout out for being so great with us! The hotel itself is so cute! I love the decor and the overall vibe. Beds are beyond comfortable and the rooms are really clean. I will definitely be staying here again. Oh also if you decide to eat at the restaurant I'm the hotel, ask for Michael! He is also amazing.

Walking in felt like I was home. It's So beautiful and so homey. The bathroom was beautiful and so was the bedroom. It was also very clean and the front desk was super nice.

Very nice... I always check first the bathroom.

Yes I like the feel of old boutique style hotel. Clean as I walked in the room. Bathroom is typical smal but, cute... I love the wardrobe... very character and the old b&w pics . What not cool, is that, I asked the front desk how come they charged my credit card ahead of my check In, when I booked from a third party... she said" we wanted to make sure the card is working.." how many hotel does this? Or it's just this hotel? Find that sketchy!

When I approached the bar and got my first drink, I understood why folks were there so early....the drinks were a buck! Such a steal and great way to get folks in. The concept of battle of the decades is great too! Each hour is a different decade of music, starting with the 60's. I spent a few hours dancing from 60's-80's music until about 8pm (perfect for an old millennial like me) until the place filled up. Totally great night at Monroe. Also love that there's no cover charge for women, so I can just enjoy the night with my friends here without having to pay the equivalent price of a drink before I've even stepped inside. Even with the club frequently packed, especially the later in the night you go, I find the facilities pretty clean compared to many other similar lounges. It's also conveniently located near late night pizza and crêpe eateries that are still open after Monroe closes for the win, which makes it an all-around no brainer to choose going here versus other venues.

I never heard of this place until a fellow Yelper brought this up to me and I said SFBox? I never heard or been in this location before and I am sure most of you never heard of this place either unless you search for history of the William Randolph Hearst printing press building so many years ago. The building was built in 1926 as a printing plant for the San Francisco Examiner. It is a nice mixed use building like a nice cozy maze to explore the nice layout and architecture of the old print shop. So upstairs about 2 floors and vendors are scattered so it's like a hunt for them, almost like a needle in haystack. Lol Well it's not that hard as you won't miss anyone. The vendors that were there were a nice mix from tea, cheese, spices, India coffee , Turkish spreads, ice cream, giant cookies, healthy drinks, spreads, and I am sure you will find something you will enjoy. I don't normally buy stuff, but the honey , red beet, 2004 sweet land Bingdao $95 brick tea that is aged 21 years that can make 175 tea servings for $95, Il Fiorello basalmic vinegar was thick and smooth great texture and syrupy taste very captivating and Taste of Levant tahini and their chocolate jar of molasses was excellent and I had to buy them.
