A few times a year my back issue would flare up and I would have to do the PT and Chiro thing again and again. I finally went to a back specialist MD about four months ago. He did x-rays and an MRI. He referred me to his favorite PT guy. I did PT for nearly two months with no improvement. A friend of mine suggested on talking to Dr Artem and I am glad I did. I found out that I have been doing the exercises wrong for all of these years. All of the docs in the past told me that I needed to quit skateboarding surfing, climbing, etc. Dr Artem does all of those activities and explained to me what I need to do so that I can enjoy them again. Instead of telling me to stop doing what I love, he explained why those activities cause me pain. I learned that the chiropractors and physical therapist that I seen over the past five years have been skipping some of the basic stuff such as how to properly activate the core and how to breathe correctly. Insead of helping me, the exercises were making things worse. Dr Artem described it perfectly yo me "it's like ripping off a scab over and over again. It will never heal that way". I learned more from him in one session than I did from the past 5 years. He has a knack of explaining what is going on with my body in a way that makes sense. It's been over two months now and his neck is no better. He has had two months of intense physical therapy with a physical therapist with little improvement. He has to ice his neck 5 times a day to help control the pain. He even goes to sleep with an ice bag because by the time my husband hits the bed at night he is in terrible pain. We reported the problem to Dr. Nik and he immediately did an X-ray to make sure he hadn't broken his neck. He then presented us with a $1000 bill for 10 treatments to "fix" him. We are devastated.
