Flourless Chocolate Cake
Leena S.

The Washington Crossing is a quaint and cozy inn and restaurant which has Revolutionary style furnishings. Our service was wonderful in this casual and friendly establishment. There is a nice outside dining patio. Unfortunately, we went there on a rainy day. The inside dining area is elegant and there is also a bar for a more casual dining experience. Our food was good. My usnbad orders the Luncheon prix fixe. It included soup or salad, choice of entree and dessert of the day. He enjoyed his Sirloin Filet Medallions and soup. Against my better judgment I went with the Crispy Fish sandwich. I generally don't like fried food. The sandwich was good, but it is deep fried. We both devoured the flourless chocolate cake.

Great food, wait staff, and ambiance of a historic building! Been here 20+ years ago, and since we moved back, this is my first time in a long time. It did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

We toured bowman's tower and other historic spots and found this place for lunch. It was AMAZING!!! SO historical and fancy and it transports you back in time. There's indoor and outdoor seating, both absolutely stunning. The service was INCREDIBLE. We were checked on so many times and our food was absolutely perfect. You would think this would be super expensive... my mom and I had lunch for $35! You can't beat this experience. DEF TRY IT! They also have afternoon tea time on certain days!

I was recently at this establishment for a small wedding. The property is beautiful. It has a small area with a lanai to hold a nice private ceremony. After the ceremony we went to the private room. The house itself is beautiful. Some of the meals were good. The caprese flatbread with balsamic glaze was extremely good. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was in a butter sauce. Really no cheese. The mini lamb chops were tender. The Caesar salad had the smallest croutons I've ever seen with the largest shavings of Parmesan. The wait staff was fantastic. There is barely any cell service there. But they do have a guest wifi that can be used.

We rented a room for a memorial service for under 20 people. There was a $400 charge for the room alone and that's before ordering off of the lunch menu. The room we were put in was not handicap accessible which was a problem for one of our guests in a wheelchair. The room was a step down and very dark with no windows. The only bathroom was 2 flights of stairs up. Overall, the restaurant itself was not rustic nor charming but dated and run down. All that aside let's talk about the food: Soon after everyone was seated, the server asked if we wanted some garlic bread for the tables to get started. We thought that was a great idea but didn't know it was $14 a loaf until we got the check...yikes! Well, the bread was good and came with some roasted garlic, a grilled long hot, and some kalamata olives. Several of us ordered the lump crabmeat soup as the server told us it was fantastic. This soup was not good. It was a bowl of heavy cream with a few pieces of crab meat in it. One of the worst soups I ever had. For my entree I ordered the lemon caper salmon. It was just ok and was served with a bland cauliflower rice and crispy sauteed string beans. Others in our party felt the same about their meals....disappointed. Also, although the server was helpful and friendly the service was horribly slow with empty drinks and finished plates sitting on the table for 30 minutes or more. Our entire lunch took almost 3 hours by the time we were done. All in all I don't think I would come back here except possibly in the warmer weather to sit at the outdoor bar but that's a big maybe.

Great outdoor space, but not great for much else. Service was barely there even though the restaurant was not even close to full. Nice bar and seating. For the food...it was ok at best. The calamari was so chewy. The tempura pieces were WAY too big and only three shrimp. The flatbread was...don't bother. The French onion soup was the winner of the group. The wine was subpar. Overall, may come back during warmer weather to sit outside but otherwise I'll keep it at a one visit.

Excellent food just across the border with a beautiful old world charm. This was an office dinner where we sat inside, though the outside patio looked enticing. A lot of options to choose from. Folks ordered pastas, steaks, seafood and everything came out beautifully presented. We ordered garlic bread, hummus platter for the table. I tried the crab cakes and it's was succulent and delicious, it came with roasted potatoes on the side. We also ordered drinks, I tried the coconut pineapple based summer drink almost a martini sized drink which was refreshing. We did order a few desserts, mine was cheesecake which wasn't as good but wasn't that bad either. Overall amazing service, in a historic mansion ideal for a fancy date night right across the Jersey border.

Nice place. Good food but they penalize you for using a credit card. 3.5%. I paid $3.32 penalty. Never going back.

We drove past all the crowded spots in town and arrived at this more secluded location. They had a small outdoor area with about 4 or 5 tables, so we decided to take advantage of the sunshine. To start, we ordered the calamari and a Greek panzanella salad. Both were delicious, but really loved the sauces that come on/with the calamari. For mains, my husband ordered the meatloaf and I had the lamb burger with beer-battered onion rings. Unfortunately, too full for dessert. Our server was great, didn't catch her name - but she's one of the newest bartenders. She took great care of us and was really helpful with answering our questions, since it was our first time there. The place has a parking lot, but expect Valet at peak times. Regular menu, plus daily specials. Overall, solid neighborhood spot, away from the crowds. Didn't get to look around inside but I'm sure the ambience is nice at night. We'll definitely be back!

The bartenders know what they're doing, and you can tell they care about the experience. Food-wise, this is where they separate themselves from typical happy hour spots. The appetizers aren't just filler--they're restaurant-quality dishes. The calamari is crisp (not greasy), the flatbreads are loaded but balanced, and everything comes out with attention to detail. The atmosphere is a huge win. It's not loud or chaotic--you can actually have a conversation, network, or just decompress after a long shift. Service is attentive without hovering, and the crowd tends to be a good mix of laid-back professionals and locals who know they found a solid spot. Bottom line: Erini's happy hour feels like a hidden gem--elevated, consistent, and worth making part of your weekly routine.

We got beat salad as an appetizer and then I ordered grouper. It was absolutely so delicious and tasted so fresh and all the textures were exciting and flavorful and absolutely so delicious. Both the beat salad and the grouper. Very beautiful and tasty. I saw they had rice pudding as a dessert so I ordered that and split it with my BFF. Cold and creamy. Yum. Very grateful to everybody who worked so hard and took care of us all. Thanks, all the hard-working people who nourished us from the sea /seed to the table. Thank you so much.
