A large pleasant greenspace, with walkways, a playground, a play fountain, and frequent free concerts and even. We rode the free streetcar here from Findlay Market in Cincinnati (May 2026). There's street parking on all sides of the park, and 450-space underground parking on Elm Street that you can check for open-spaces online. We strolled through the flat paths, pausing here and there on the many sometimes-shady benches. Us adults read various historical and commemorative markers. The kids played a little in the fountain, then played more in the sunnier playground to (mostly) dry out before the return ride to Findlay. There was a nice open-air bar in the middle of the park, nice restaurants and bars within a couple blocks in all directions, at least one vacation rental, and at least one rentable event venue in a historic building. There's Wifi! Public restrooms :-) A dog-park. Woof! The website said food trucks, but we didnt look for them. There are free concerts and movies and yoga and monthly flea markets, but not midday on the weekday when we were there. This is a nice relaxing easy-to-reach 8-acre greenspace with lots going on, in the western part of OTR, and a destination for all kinds of activities. Well done, Cincy! read more

Washington Park is one of my favorite spots to visit in Cincinnati. It has a great atmosphere with plenty of open space, beautiful landscaping, and a great view of the historic architecture around the area. It's a perfect place to take a walk, relax, people watch, or spend time with family. Being right next to Cincinnati Music Hall gives it even more character. The park is clean, welcoming, and feels like a true gathering place for the city. Definitely worth checking out if you're visiting downtown Cincinnati. read more

The Washington Park kids area/playground is really great! The area feels spacious and calm. It has a fence around the perimeter, encouraging only adults with children to use it. There's a wide variety of entertaining features for all ages and it encourages play in a different way than a typical playground. Aside from the playground, the park also has a big splash fountain, cafe and bar, and space for events. Landscaping is maintained well and beautiful. Check it out if you're in the area! read more

This is a unique park with a dog park, playground, and splash pad. It is located within the heart of Cincinnati and walking distance to several notable eateries and touristy spots such as the Findlay Market, Cincinnati Fire Museum, and Cincinnati Music Hall. We stopped by on a Thursday afternoon and there were good number of young families enjoying the space with us. The playground is fenced in and relatively small. Its main feature is a castle ruin that showcases climbing and sliding. It has an elevated turf for children to climb up and down. There is also a modern aspect to the playground with sandbox, swing set, and musical toy. Also worth noting is there are bathrooms nearby. I cannot comment on the cleanliness since we did not have to use it but it is convenient and an important factor for young families. read more

I went here after an interview in OTR to walk around and enjoy the nice weather while I had time to. It was beautiful outside and I felt it was a missed opportunity not to as I don't get to OTR too often. The park is always so green in the summer and filled with pretty flowers and it looks so perfect. It was nice seeing a bunch of people with the same thought I had, walking around and enjoying the space. It was a great place to go and enjoy, and I love the atmosphere of OTR and the bustling city around it. I remember the park before it was this park and it still blows my mind what it looks like now. I inadvertently checked into Washington Park Apartments, but that won't keep me from reviewing this beautiful downtown Cincinnati park. Washington Park is right on the Connector line, which makes it convenient to get to. It's also in close proximity to Music Hall, Memorial Hall, plenty of restaurants as well as the Vine Street OTR district. A parking garage below Washington Park (yes you can park under the Park) puts all these things in easy reach. Events are scheduled at the park year round. Add to all of these positives the beauty of the park itself. It's a shining beacon that helps draw people downtown. Love it! read more

Washington Park isn't anything to write home about as parks go. That said, it's still a welcome green area inside the Cincinnati's urban expanse. For the most part, the park is clean and well kept; there are even park benches to sit on scattered throughout. There's a free parking lot for use by visitors; the entrance is on the street that the Music Hall is located on. The commuter train also makes a stop here. read more

Washington Park is one of the bigger parks in Cincinnati. It's just north of downtown. Located in Over The Rhine. Close to Findlay Market. There's often something happening like a festival or a parade. It's not the prettiest in the city. It's still a lot better than it was several years ago. This place used to be overrun with homeless and it wasn't somewhere to bring a family and feel safe. Now it's much safer to wander around. There's all kinds of festivals throughout the year. City Flea is a monthly market. There's also lots to do in the areas around the park. It's close to Findlay Market. There's many restaurants and shops. It's pretty easy to find. A splendid inner city park which is highly manicured and has a lot to offer. There is a garage beneath (though I wouldn't count on it if you haven't reserved a space), and the streetcar also goes by in both directions. The spectacular looking music hall is across the street, and many eateries are nearby. There are pregame parties for the soccer team, which is a terrible team but nonetheless somehow attracts spirited fans. Music and other events are frequent, but there are also plenty of benches, open green space, and playgrounds. I find it hard to spend a day in Cincinnati without at least passing through. read more

This is a great park right in the middle of the Over the Rhine/Findlay Market area of Cincinnati. I have walked past or through it during every single visit to the city. It sits across the street from the music halls and one of the many theaters in town.The parks hosts monthly markets and hosted a large-scale interactive installation as part of Blink. Whenever there's an event here, I must go. Christmas with Santa, City Flea, Earth Day, Asian Fest. The list goes on and on. This park does a great job attracting vendors and the community. It is always a good time. When there's no events, it's still a wonderful park to add to the rotation. You can grab a drink on the SouthWest Porch (typically $6 drinks), bring your dog to the dog park, push your little one on the swings at the playground, cool off at the fountains or just have a good old fashioned picnic in the grass. It is always well kept and full of our diverse community. The whole family loves it. read more

My partner in crime sister from another mother and I attended bourbon and cigar event this summer. We didn't know what to expect. We were so happy that we made it down. We did many tasting and three of the demonstrations and pairings. There were too many samples, we could not even finish our punch card. We were in good company because we saw many people with tastings left on their card. The cost was well worth it. We also received a few gifts to take home The last event was the cigar and bourbon pairing. Oh man I felt like a grown woman. I thoroughly enjoyed this event. Nice little park oasis in the heart of the big city. While it isn't the safest or nicest park in Cincy, the special events, which are often free, are the draw for me. I recently came for Tuesday night free yoga in the park. Being an experienced yogi I was impressed with the great flow of the class outside on such a large scale! It was a great, relaxing workout, and wasn't overly crowded. Nearby people were waking dogs, riding bikes, and kids were playing in the fountains. There is parking underneath, which I've never used. Washington Park is the best! First of all, it is BEAUTIFUL and clean. There is a water park area for kids, a dog park, and plenty of space green space to lay out. One of my favorite things to do is grab lunch downtown and then a beverage at the pavilion. They serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. On the weekends and most week days you can count on Washington Park to have some community event going on-from workout classes, to city flea market, and FC pregame celebrations. Love! Love! Love this park. It has everything you could want. When you enter the park you immediately feel part of a little community sharing this beautiful green space. There was a kickball game in the middle of the park and some onlookers enjoyed watching the game on one of the many benches available, scattered around the park. Just past the kickball game were kids and some playful adults running through the fountains that shoot up in the air periodically. Lots of giggling and a fun atmosphere. The feeling of fun turned festive as we entered an area with a gazebo where musicians were playing folk music. Eli's BBQ was serving up some yummy eats and Mt. Caramel is set up selling beer. There were couples and families having picnics in the grass while and artist (easel, canvas and all) painted scenes from the park. There was even a woman walking on stilts chatting with people who walked by. Finally, I also notices a pretty awesome play area for kids that includes a castle-like structure. I was very impressed with Washington Park and will return. This place will be even more accessible when the streetcar in finished. It's picturesque and Cincinnati should be very proud of this beautiful park's ability to gather so many together. read more

Washington Park is such a key place to the OTR community. Pre COVID-19 it was such a great place to go for events and activities, but they still have so much to offer. The park is always beautifully landscaped. It is the perfect destination for a picnic with plenty of green space and shade. The sprayground has reopened with limited capacity and someone monitoring how many people are using it, as well as rotating people in. The dog park is a really nice, well kept space. I do not have a dog, but if I did I would definitely use this. The Porch is still open and selling a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. According to their Facebook page they are also having food trucks come on site. When you need a bit of green in middle of the city this is the place to come! read more

In the time of social distancing, I'm grateful for places that you can safely walk and enjoy the scenery. Washington Park is beautiful, has lots of space, and is a great epicenter to the normally-bustling Over-The-Rhine neighborhood. While there are no events during social distancing, normally the lawn has something going on from Yoga to the City Flea (market). If you're visiting from out of town, definitely don't miss a chance to grab a drink at the deck. The deck has beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks and light snacks available for purchase. It's also (normally) a great place to bring takeout food for a picnic. So while we may not be able to use the park in its full glory until social distancing ends... go for a walk, enjoy the surroundings, and find peace in the fact that, as Cincinnatians, we'll get through this together and enjoy this park in its entirety once this is all over! read more

Love this Park! It is located in Downtown Cincinnati, in the heart of OTR. The park is beautiful, well maintained and always has something going on. Don't let the size trick you, as yes it is small, however it is located in a downtown environment. This place is a gem in the middle of the city! I passed through recently while visiting Cincinnati. On a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon, a friend and I made our way here to get a reprieve from the heat. Not only was the greenspace wonderfully refreshing after being in the concrete jungle, but the park itself had so much to offer. Dog park, splash fountains, playground, and a tent offering beverages to help beat the heat. There was some music playing, the sound of laughter and conversation filled the air, and the din of traffic felt a world away as we sat and enjoyed the wonderful ambiance. Living in northern Kentucky, I don't always venture downtown but when I do, Washington Park is usually involved. Whether it be to partake in a park event, take my nieces and nephews to play in the water fountains or using the parking garage below the park, the location is great and the park itself is beautiful. No matter how many times I go, I love to take in the view of Music Hall. You can easily get to plenty of restaurants and bakeries from the park. According to the app, I've checked in over 30 times. I should probably write a review. Being an almost lifelong resident of Cincinnati, I can recall what Washington Park was like in the 80s and 90s, and frankly it was awful. It is great to witness the transformation that has taken place and how quickly the community (and I'm not only talking about hipsters and wealthy downtown retirees) has taken to using the park year round. I recommend subscribing to their email events list on their site: https://washingtonpark.org/ From music, movies, to Shakespeare plays, there is usually something fun for all ages and interests. The garage underneath the park is a little smaller than I expected, so keep this in mind if you are planning on attending an event. I have seen "Garage Full" signs often. There is street and lot parking in the area so budget in five or 10 minutes in case parking spots are lacking. Yes, there are homeless people that take naps in the grassy areas, and occasionally asking for money. The drop in center used to be across the street where the Shakespeare theater is now, but there is no need to be alarmed or dissuaded from coming to the park. It's an awesome public space that I hope will continue to be a unifying force for downtown Cincinnati. read more

Did you know that there are still people buried in Washington Park? They were supposed to be relocated to other graveyards however a few were and most were left behind. There are tombstones but that is not where the people are buried. They are in a grassy area near the older trees in the park. Parking is available on-site. Enter on the street where Music Hall is. A local walking tour took us through part of the park. There happened to be a movie being shown outdoors. It was a chilly night. So, seeing so many in attendance at the movie meant that it was a popular activity. The commuter rail stops by the park. You can park at the park, hop on the train, and grab a meal on the route. Then when you are done, swing back past the park to top off your evening. read more

Washing Park has so much to offer. An oasis surrounded by a concrete jungle. Various festivals are held here throughout the year. A list of upcoming events may be found on their website. There is a playground for children to play on. Playground is packed on the weekends. At a lot of newer parks, the playgrounds are completely in the sun. I like that Washington Park has shady areas. Lots of space for picnics. Parking is available underneath the park. Rates vary based on what is going on at the time. Do not pay before you were ready to leave. I made the mistake of doing so hours before I was ready to go, and had to pay a second time when I put my ticket in the machine to leave. I have also pulled in when the sign has one price printed for the day, then a different price is being charged when I leave. This happened the last time I was there. The people paying ahead of me said the same thing. Parking can be packed when events are happening at Music Hall, located across the street. read more

Beautiful park that I love to go to when I get the chance. I've watched a baseball game on the lawn with the big screen, done yoga, Zumba, and HIIT on the big lawn, gathered for a social Justice march, taken my nephew to the fun water fountains in the summer and the eclectic playground (sand boxes, musical elements, entertaining obstacles). Washington Park is just awesome overall. Right smack dab in the middle of OTR. It's nice to have a calm place to chill in between battling all the craziness of the OTR area at night. They have the city flea during the warmer months during the year. That flea is awesome (see earlier review). They decorate the park up beautifully for Christmas too. Walking through and underneath all the lights they installed is seriously magical. So yes, a very nice and serene park setting surrounded by the crazy busyness of OTR. Pretty cool. read more

I feel so lucky this park exists in my city. Here are some reasons why: 1) My dog is from the suburbs and prefers walking in grass. And aside from the grass, there's a pretty great fenced-in area just for dogs. 2) In the summer especially, there is ALWAYS something going on. Movies, yoga, craft fairs, food festivals, live music, pilates, and on and on and on. 3) It's beautifully lit and directly above a parking garage. (Take note if you're driving here.) 5) So. Much. Green space. 6) It's well maintained. 7) It's next to Music Hall, which is one of the most gorgeous buildings in the city. 8) Grab an ice cream (from the Graeter's) or a popsicle (from Streetpop) and go for a walk around the park. Do it just once on a warm summer night and you'll be hooked. 9) There's a streetcar stop on the edge of the park! I love the park just as much when I'm taking my dog for a walk on the quiet nights as I do when it's bustling with people because of a festival or great weather day.
