Also basketball court (double rims, unfortunately) and a Coke machine by the court. Parking is wherever you can find a spot on the road, or if you go up by the tennis courts there is a small dirt area. Watch out for kids playing in the street as you're driving. Heavily populated, but we had no trouble using the courts. No lights, either, so make sure you go during the day. Overall a nice, private place to play tennis or bring your kids to a cool play area while you lounge on the little beach and look for crabs or skip stones. Rowboats and flotation devices allowed in lake, not sure about motorboats (doubtful).

While parking is $5 for Mass residents, I've always been more than happy to pay the $10 fee for out of state visitors, but this year we were surprised to see that rate increase to $20 for out of state plates. I suspect that means that they have enough residents visiting and want to discourage those from out of state. For this reason, I'm only awarding 3 stars. The "Theater in the Open" event is lots of fun, a "spooky trail" geared toward children, but adults will enjoy it as well. Additional fee is $10 per person. If you want to visit, I suggest hitching a ride with an in state Mass resident to enjoy this hidden gem of a park in Newburyport.

There are also lots of crumbling rocks on the edges that get on the course and impede ball play. The hole with the cave is awesome though! The rest of the place is great and wonderfully updated, however we went on a Thursday afternoon, a school day, it was not very crowded, but there was only one person working. We were hoping to get our grandchild a slush after golfing but the service was so slow as there was only one person working everything and we would have had to wait quite a while. All in all if they took care of the golf course it could be 5-stars.
