none of the support staff knows how to listen to their They think they know better. Let's just start there. That being said they also do NASA appointments where they tell every in at the same time and you to sit and wait all day to get a scan people are sick that come to these clinics. We don't need to be sitting there all day waiting on you to get ready for us when you can make an appointment like every other facility in the area and get people in within a half an hour of appointment time.I just got a refusal for my Washington University clinic to read my non- scan, that they wrote the orders to have done in an outside facility. I guess I'm gonna have to call the medical review board. read more

Washington University Physicians is a terrible corporation that has a monopoly on healthcare in the area. They swallow up good doctors and make it so they can't survive as a independent healthcare provider. They mis-code and up-code their bills to take advantage of their "customers". I use the title customer because they do not treat them like patients. If you can find an independent healthcare provider, I would go there and avoid the bad business practices of the mega healthcare monopoly. read more

The doctor is great but staffing can be not so good at times. I arrived today which is April 30th and was met by Katie who opens the window and has a rude tone and kets me know" Your appointment is not until the 30th" well I just looked at her and the other staff members said it is the 30th. She then proceeds to tell me " well your appointment is at 5pm" with an attitude. Then an employee says "no I changed hers to 345pm." She has been at work all day and just now she realized it was not the 27th?! As she claimed to have thought. People save the rudeness or find a new job because I never said a word just looked at her until she got all her answers from her coworkers. The doctor is great and I woukd refer but Katie needs to get attitude together. People do not want to be greeted as if you are trying to turn them away. read more

Has wrongly billed me for preventive care services 2 out of 3 visits to this clinic. Apparently talking about the medications that have been prescribed to you on other visits without any adjustments made kicks you out of the free annual visit. It took five calls and several hours of work before I gave up and paid the bill. The only way I will return to this hospital is unconscious in the back of an ambulance. Not worth the trouble or money to be treated by a 25 year old fresh out of med school. read more

There is an Oncologist I saw there ONE time just to meet him and see if I wanted to choose him as a doctor. Dr. Opum or something like that, can't remember is name. He asked if I could send all my medical records to him before the consult, which I did. I couldn't stand the guy and decided I would definately Not go to him. Yet 4 months later I receive a bill in the mail for over $2000 of work he claims he did for me. I had him do nothing I knew that. Turns out he Charged Me To Look at my medical records....$2000! What a thief! Out right bold thief. I am a cancer patient with no prognosis for longevity. Way to treat the dying! What a dick. read more

After seeing Dr Andrew Katz, Cardiologist, for several years, I was shocked to experience discrimination against older female patients. He profusely stated how glad he was to see me doing well after a recent cancer surgery, then totally ignored the positive health decisions and actions I have been taking for years and put a very negative descriptor in a letter to my primary care physician. I feel he never would have been so derogatory toward a male patient, but since I am a 78 year old female he felt he could say whatever he wanted without consulting me and get away with it. While I am certainly not the perfect patient, I am deserving of respect in all aspects of my healthcare. I feel Dr Katz expressed extreme prejudice in his remark and an elitist attitude inappropriate in the healthcare system. read more

Dr. Roberto Civitelli's office at the Bone Health Institute at Barnes West is the worst physicians office I have ever dealt with. I have a rare type of osteoporosis that he is supposed to be the worlds expert on. I have seen him for 3 frustrating years.I am an RN who has worked in surgeons offices my entire 30 year career so I know how it is supposed to work. A patient calls, you call them back right? Not here. When I started with him, he thought it would be a good idea for me to be genetically tested for a special injection for this type of osteoporosis. It took 3 years for him to get me scheduled to have this done. They were supposed to get insurance approval & send me a kit. When I didn't receive it, I again reached out to them and again did not get a response for weeks. When they did get back to me, they said that I can order the kit on my own through their website which I attempted to do. The site was for doctors only. It was weeks before I got a response from the office and then when I did, I had to go pick the kit. I mailed it to the lab that tests your saliva the same day. No one called me with my results. They registered me with the wrong last name. Another delay. When I finally got the injection, I called the office with severe muscle cramping in my legs, feet, ribcage and hands. It took them a week to get back to me. I told him I just wanted to go back on oral medication that I was taking prior to this. He wanted me to try it again. I refused. Meantime, I asked to go back on the oral medication that I started with. Unfortunately for me my former endocrinologist prescribed it for me so even though Dr. Civitelli told me to continue it, I can't get through to the office to have it refilled. It's been 11 days. Someone finally got back to me today and said they had to check with him. Nurses have absolutely no authority. Horrible patient care. read more

Saw a colorectal surgeon for tests on two days within a week. First, asst scheduled a battery of tests without even calling me to see when I was available. I had to send a complaint to the doctor to get things changed. It took multiple messages to get this done. Why would a medical practice even think this was okay. Then the asst acted as if I was imposing by requesting to be considered when scheduling appointments. I've NEVER had anyone do that to me before. Ten days after last test, still had no response from the Dr & results had not been posted. My symptoms were worsening quickly and was in a lot of pain. I sent her a message that I had bad GI cramps, constant pain and bloody stools. She said she could get back with me in a month. A month. I had to call my GI from a different health system to step in and he did so immediately, prescribing medication that really helped. What the Washington University colorectal surgeon did was pure negligence. She did not give an F about me as a patient - no concern whatsoever. I was treated like a pothole in the road of her already busy schedule. After complaining about her lack of action, her asst contacted me to set up a telehealth appt a week earlier than the previous suggested date. I would not recommend anyone see a colorectal surgeon from Washington University in St Louis. Go elsewhere. read more

Amy Loden M.D. was referred to us by another Washington University physician. She is supposed to be a primary care physician but, so far, has referred my husband out to specialists and has refused to manage his stable chronic conditions. His care was transferred from specialists to primary care several years ago because the conditions were stable. She is not taking responsibility for his primary care. read more

Today I made an appointment at the Washington University Physicians office for a painful ear infection that I had been to the ER for at 2:15. I arrived at 2:02 and checked-in. After a little over thirty minutes I politely inquired as to my wait and 2:15 appointment time and was told I was next. Over the next thirty minutes many people were seen and I inquired again not so politely- again told I was next. I was noticeably irritated and and experiencing quite a bit of discomfort from the infection. After a wait of nearly TWO HOURS I was given a refund of my copay and told, "the doctors decided they wouldn't see you." I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated by the staff and in addition to an entire afternoon wasted by careless medical "professionals", I won't be able to see someone at Cen-care until 7:30 a.m. on December 8, and will probably need to find a new Doctor. The people there made me wait while they smiled and laughed at my pain. I can in no way recommend Washington University Physicians or Barnes-Jewish Hospital for the absolutely horrible way I was treated. Sincerely Craig K read more
