At the time I visited it had about 300 spots available. As you enter, you will notice there are no machines to grab a ticket. The first level seemed to be for a 2-hour max, while the rest of the levels were more than 2 hours. The garage is open 24 hours. There is lots of signage inside so you will know where you are exiting (Grandview Avenue or Wheaton Triangle). You can either take the stairs or elevators. Seems to be 4 or 5 levels (G1 to G4). G is the level you exit on. You pre-pay for your parking ($1 per hour), between 7am to 10pm (Monday to Saturday) either by using the machines or using the app (Parkmobile or Passport Parking). If you use the machine, it provides an explanation on how to use it: Enter your parking space number, estimate the time you are parking for, make your payment (credit card or cash), and then take a receipt. I was not sure whether I should put my receipt in the vehicle or keep it with me. My friend used one of the apps and could extend their time on the app (if needed). I may try the app next time (we'll see).

It seemed like the first 3 floors are now set with a max of 3 hours and the time to park free is a bit more limited than before. Times have changed, I guess. After parking, I went to pay at one of the stand-alone machines. I entered my ticket, and, in a few seconds, the machine gave me back my ticket. Nothing on the screen changed. I tried again, same thing. So, I guess there was no charge for me to park. I got ready to exit through the gates and the thing prompted me to pay, so I guess the stand-alone machine wasn't working then. I wished they had put something on that stand-alone machine to state it wasn't working. I'll know for the next time to make sure some sort of amount is shown when validating my ticket (lesson learned). Note: When exiting by the gate, it doesn't take cash, and you may not always get a receipt. Per their website here is today's cost: 0 to 90 minutes (FREE). 90 minutes to 3 hours ($3). 3 to 4 hours ($4). 4 to 5 hours ($5). 5 to 8 hours ($8). Daily Maximum or Lost Ticket $20.

Fast forward to present time and I made a decision (after parking at another garage) to park in this one again. Wow, what a big difference it was to the other garage - not tight, less busy and a little cheaper (even if by just 25 cents less). There are not too many of the restaurants and stores by this garage, which makes it less busy than others, like Cordell - St. Elmo garage. This too has 2 entrances as well - one on Del Ray Ave and the other on Auburn Ave. This cost here is $1 per hour vs $1.25 for the Cordell/St.Elmo garage and it could be because cars are not frequently coming in and out during their busy times. Overall, it is just better at times to park in the garage that has less congestion with more space to travel between each floor. I haven't been up to the top floor in this one yet, but I'll check it out soon and update this review.

It is the most convenient to the hoity-toity shops in Bethesda and Bethesda Lane. This is where I park when I crave pastries from Maman or Fresh Baguette. Where I treat myself to an insanely expensive tart from Laudrée. Where I get my gelato fix (blueberry lavender!) from Dolcezza. Where I park for delicious fish tacos from Tacombi. So, I am at the county's mercy. Usually, it's just an hour. It can be crazy busy, so pack your patience, and be kind to the man that sits outside the entrance off Bethesda Ave. Remember parking is free on Sundays. I had to stop a family from paying at the kiosk.

First of all parking payment rates have drastically changed along with the hours that you need to pay for parking. There is no free half hour anymore. You now have to pay Monday through Saturday up to 10PM. I believe the rate is $1.25 per hour. You also must pay in advance and guesstimate how long you plan to stay and there's no half hour increments so if you only want to pop into a restaurant for carry out, then you need to either take your chances and not pay, or pay for an hours worth of parking. Also, none of the three places I mentioned that I visited exist anymore, but there are lots of great stores and new restaurants in Downtown Silver Spring to explore. This parking garage is the closest one to where all the action is in Downtown Silver Spring.

It gets pretty crowded on the weekends and evenings because of the time period and because it's free to park if you exit after 9pm on weekdays and free all day on the weekend. There are electronic signs that indicate the number of spots on each level as you ascend the ramps to the next level, but they're usually inaccurate. The technology to sense filled/vacant spots that's used it Tysons Corner Center, for example, isn't used here. Still, I've never had a problem parking. There are usually attendants on duty before 9 pm as well as several kiosks to pay before you return to your car. You can also pay upon exit, but that causes a line of cars behind you and is inadvisable on a busy night.

As I entered the first floor and found there were no spaces, on this floor, I had do execute a three point turn with cars in each direction. It was a real hassle. Thirdly, they don't have pay machines on each floor. So, they tell you to note your license plate, but with no pay machine on the blue G floor, you have no way to figure out how to pay. And, no one to ask for help. Then, all of the parking levels are marked G. So, if you didn't pay attention to the one strip of color on the wall, you wouldn't know which floor to return to. So, I will be looking for a different parking garage on Woodmont Avenue. Good luck, and enter at your own risk...

I was worried…read morethat it would be crowded because it's very close to the metro, but on the Wednesday night I went there was an abundance of parking spots available. The current cost is $1.50/hr and it's Pay by Plate. The one thing I don't like about all Montgomery County lots is that it's pay by the hour. There are no half hour increments. I miss the days of coin meters! The garage is clean, and well lit. I feel safe coming and going on my own as long as I can park near a door or elevator. This was the closest garage to a Yelp event I attended, and when I return to the restaurant, I will definitely park in the garage again since it's cheaper than street parking rates.

When have you ever gotten a parking ticket in a ticket entry garage? The answer is never. I like to leave my car somewhere and not worry about how much time I'm spending at a business. Parking garages that have meters in them... thats no guarantee. The prices are reasonable in this garage and it's steps away from Woodmont Triangle and could be a nice brisk walk into the heart of Bethesda Row. There is usually someone in the office there- which is not he size of a coffin. I feel so bad for those workers in a garage that have that small booth that is just big enough to fit a human being... without their knees usually. I've been in this garage a few times, and have always found a spot on the first floor. It is clearly underutilized, at least the times I'm going. Great garage, no problems with this garage.

The signage needs to be more clear. I had some trouble finding spots for the Amazon Fresh store but they are on a lower level. Parking is $1 for up to 1 hour. There is a stated height restriction of 10'9" but it is actually lower. They accept credit cards or cash as payment.
